But nobody did oppose him, since they were trying to find shelter from the pineapples whilst comforting Steven, who had collapsed in a fit of tears.

But he actually couldn't do that, as the curse forbid him from doing things like that. This simply made the group sorrier for him.

Adreus coughed loudly, glaring at the group of adventurers. "Actually, my curse didn't change Steven at all. It just made everyone else feel just as disgusted by him as I did."

Ten thousand mountains dropped on Adreus, no one else, just Adreus.

With his death, Steven's curse was broken.

Adreus burst from beneath the mountains, skeletal face wreathed in black flames. "Well then, this is going to be fun."

He had died, so the curse was broken, but his dead form had burst up from underneath the mountains for the final challenge that would complete Steven's character arc. Steven knew the only way to defeat Adreus for all time was to sacrifice himself as a final act of goodwill.

Everyone returned to their homes for lockdown. They were saddened at Steven's death, but happy that Adreus was gone forever. They wished they had been kinder to Steven, but of course his curse had prevented that.

Adreus stepped into the afterlife, burning with rage. That fool Steven beat me? Three hundred years of preparing for the next adventurer to challenge me, and he kills me in less than five minutes? Abruptly, he smiled. He truly is an opponent worth fighting. Now, to claw my way back to real life again, so I can unleash my army and conquer all of TLT.

Steven walked away. I wonder why they think I'm dead, he thought

It was Adreus' second curse, hidden behind the first. Since no one could see Steven as evil, now they could no longer see him at all.

“Would you like some help? I happen to enjoy the murder of righteous adventurers as well.” A voice said from behind him.

Steven realized that this was much better than before. Now people won't try to thank me! I can complete my good deeds in peace, free of all consequences.

While Steven was rejoicing in his newfound freedom, the shadowed figure revealed himself. It was Eof, and he was here to complete his part of the prophecy.

Everyone stared at him blankly. “Yeah wrong person. However, the afterlife contains everybody, so I’d be happy to find whoever you’re talking about if they can help us kill Steven.”

"Oh, no. I'm pretty sure he was sealed away long ago, in a prison that not even my spells could penetrate." Adreus nodded sagely.

"I'd need some rather rare ingredients to even have a chance at breaking the seals on my old friend's prison. And that's ignoring the massive undead army sworn to protect the seals."

Bloodsealer walked in. "I have experience with seals," he remarked.

Adreus turned his skull to face Bloodsealer. "And you are?"

Everyone tilted their head, thinking. “I’ll take of the army and the ingredients. You perform the spell, and if doesn’t work, I’ll give your powers a little… b̷̧͇̿o̷̧̪͝õ̵̤͜s̶̗̣͑̿ť̴̥͊.”

Silhouette peeked his head in just as Bloodsealer turned away. "He's with me!" he whispered. "He's that shapeshifter! The one that constantly and randomly changes shape. First he was Arbiter, then he was Misting, then he was SG. Now he dabbles in sealing blood and thus has been redubbed Bloodsealer."

Silhouette hesitated for a second. "Just don't let him find out about his nature. That could make things particularly...messy," he said, then vanished
