"All good, it's -" He looked over at it and jumped slightly, because it was back to normal in his hand. "It's, uh, fine now, apparently."

Someone else subtly threw the remains of the ruined muffin into some bushes.

Jasper looked around at the people appearing and disappearing, startled, and then back at Moni and Someone else. "Um, thank you both, but I have something I need to do. I'm not sure why, exactly, but..."

They stared Jasper in total silence for an uncomfortable length of time. One of them didn't appear to notice Jasper at all, she appeared to be rather preoccupied with jumping up and down in a panic. Someone else absently handed Jasper a donut. "Now's your chance to run, if you're smart enough to take it."

Apparently, the old plot had been completely abandoned in the two days that Narrator Sequence had been gone. Cool! Another Person walked into the room with a pie.

Sequence didn't answer. She sat on her knees, head rested on the floor as tears dripped onto the ground. Unintelligible was dead? The legendary not-quite-narrator who saved Nameless from his prison? Dead?
