They reminded him of how trapped he was.

Unfortunately, the irrational everyone else saw him as the irrational one.

More or less, at least. Some of them died.

Someone decided to try to figure out the absolute meaning of “more or less, at least”

They carefully inputted it into a calculator.

The result was something sort'a like "Not actually, but in a slightly nicer way".

Everyone was slightly perplexed. Especially X's avatar.

But he was always slightly perplexed, so it wasn't a big deal.

In other news, the Ghanderflaffle empire was falling.

There was too much rain.

And that hurt their drywheat harvest, which in turn hurt their economy, which in turn hurt. . .which in turn caused them to fall.

[Szeth's Facepalm]

This was a problem. The Goonderfuffal Empire counted on buying drywheat from the Ghanderflaffles. They began to collapse too.

This concerted economic collapse caused massive unrest.

Because it was all of the back of a planetary giant.

So the giant got some rest.

And everything settled down. (literally).
