The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

"Pretty good. Ozzy here had some stomach issues last week, but he's feeling much better now, huh, bud?" The ostrich let out a loud screech.

I'm pretty sure I gave the ostrich a different name, but I'm too lazy to look for it...

I forget the name.

Melody smiled and nodded. "That's sad, and good now that he's better. We've had a lot of excitement since we saw you last!"

If you couldn't tell, she's bored of this conversation already and wishes to talk with X Melody's so interested in this conversation! She doesn't want to talk with X at all.

"It's always exciting here," said X's avatar. "Well, when it is."

[DramaQueen she/he/neopronouns]

"Oh, what's happened that's exciting?"

"There was an antagonist," said X's avatar.

[DramaQueen she/he/neopronouns]

"Oooh, scary." Ozzy trembled, then let out another screech. "Calm down, bud." Drama said, patting the ostrich on the head.

"Her name was Y," continued X's avatar. "She kidnapped Melody."

[Condensation she/her]

"Then, when X and everyone tried to trade for me back, there was lots of betrayal and then I, the Alphabet Person with illusions, ran away and continued holding me. Nameless and Schrodinger rescued me, and we sent I to Mishmash Inn. Then there was some dueling, Song and I made cookies which were stolen over and over again, and now we're here."

"There was something about the feud, too."

[Condensation she/her]

"Oh, yeah, the feud."

For a moment, a shadow passed over X's avatar's face.

"But we should talk of lighter things," he said, changing the tone. "Not everything must be dark."

"Lighter things. Hmm... I can't think of anything! That's weird. Usually I'm so optimistic!"

X's avatar wondered what that said about the thread.

"I can think of plenty of light things!" Thardeuss bounded back into the room, holding a note. "Someone told me to take this to you, here you go!" The note read: I'm sorry, but if I had to talk to him for a second longer, my head was going to explode.

"Did you read the note?" asked X's avatar.

[Condensation she/her]

"No," said Thardeuss, appalled. "He told me it was private! So, what does it say?"

the note tore under the weight of the breadmunk that appeared on top of it

Like, bread plus a chipmunk?

Melody looked at Thardeuss. "Are your friends back yet?"

X's avatar read the note truthfully.

Thardeuss looked at the ground. "Oh." His shoulders slumped, but then he straightened and looked up. "Well, people often say I have that quality, maybe I should embrace it! I'll make your head explode from the force of my personality!"

X's avatar responded somewhat apologetically that he liked his head the way it was.

Melody agreed, but didn't say so.
