OK, I'm seriously thinking love arc. Is that just me reading too much into everything? If I had to say when I thought it started for me, the narrator, I would say when Melody grabbed X's avatar when they got out of that maze, and it's just been escalating.

She doesn't know about their choosing of names.

Of course, I'm not the best at love arcs, as I believe I've told you.  But you're pretty good, right?.. so what could go wrong?

Woo hoo, I got it right! Absolutely nothing. I will endeavor to create an awkward situation where they can realize it.
