So my lack of activity this cycle has been due to managing a movie theatre and handling the Infinity War release. It's been fun. However, I'm off work for the night and while checking my PMs, I learned that Steel was scanned as Derethi. So he's definitely either the Gyorn or the Odiv and my money is on the Gyorn.

Damnation.

Looks like that’s a confession. We only have ten more hours, so I doubt you’re going to have the fewest number of votes by the end of this cycle. I’d say we discuss the next candidate for Gyornness if Steel turns out to be doing the ol’ “Bluff that you’re an eliminator” trick.

I think that, should Steel fall, there should be a couple of pieces of evidence here that came up today. If Steel never had a pendant, Elenion is clear. If he *did*, Elenion is a lot more suspicious—because he would have passed it to Elenion so he has the truth to tell, rather than an easily falsifiable lie.

Unless, however, the person who passed the pendant to Elenion is dead, or an Elantrian. Elenion mentioned this possibility while accusing Steeldancer, so I’d say that he has less of an elim-y read.

————

Eoni didn’t take place in the voting. He wanted to stay here, accuse himself like a king should, and watch what happened in the discussion. He ate some dirt, and some roots, and started tilling the dirt again. May as well get ready for planting season, which was as soon as Elantris double-fell. He had some bets running with Stan, whose real name was Stone.

The boulder hadn’t moved since the Reod, and Eoni was hoping he’d not let an earthquake move him again. Moving was a fun thing to do, but only for humans. Boulders wouldn’t have fun rolling around; they’d get all dizzy and angular-momentum-y.

Gotta watch out for that angular momentum. It’ll spin you right round, Eoni thought. Spinning right round, right round, like a record baby—didn’t seem the way to impress subjects. He’d have to govern them with soil.

What incentive would Steel have to lie about being evil? It would just ensure he was lynched, and there are no Jesters in this game unless it's a secret role. And why do you assume Steel is the Gyorn?

There's one possibility that you don't bring up: it's possible that Steel actually did pass me the Pendant, so my accusation of him would be a lucky coincidence. If Steel is the Odiv and not the Gyorn, he could have started with a Seon and a Derethi Pendant and then been converted later on after passing the Pendant to me. I'm not saying that this is what happened--I don't know--but the fact that you leave this possibility out, and that you assume that Steel is the Gyorn, makes me suspicious of you.

Ah, ok. I see your analysis and raise you an apology for not considering all three sides.

I had forgotten about the difference between being a Gyorn and an Odiv, and should have said “Gyornness or Odivness.” My sentence after that was in reference to my actions in MR28, and Roadwalker’s (also in MR28) which didn’t stop us from getting lynched.

Next, on the other quote from me, that makes lots of sense. Passing pendants is anonymous, and claiming isn’t always believable. However, even once Steel dies, we won’t know whether the pendant passed to you was passed in the way claimed.

Well, I’ve gotta go, mobile and all; hopefully we get a Gyorn or Odiv and don’t lynch the Jeskeri on accident until the remaining Derethi Converter is dead (because then we get an extra night kill).

Well I've been outed. No escaping being scanned as being aligned with Shu-Dereth. But if I'm going to die, I'm going to cause a bit of chaos to keep things interesting! You see, I'm pretty sure I know who the priest is! We know Joe used a Korathi pendant on Seonid, and when Wilson was suspicious of the priest, she said that Joe had to be evil if the priest was evil. And, he was the first one to vote on me when no suspicion had been thrown on me yet. Therefore, Seonid is the Priest, and good luck to the probably remaining Jeskeri to kill him. Also, I'm pretty sure I have a good idea of who the last eliminators are, but I'm not going to out them, because what fun would that be?
All hail Holy Jaddeth. Curse the perversion of the Ja, and curse the perversion of Domi.

Since I'm outed, I suppose that there's no point denying it. Because of course, you know my role much more conclusively.  After all, Len is your Odiv, and I claimed to him a while back.

My apologies @Elenion for the intrigue I've played with you today. I actually scanned you last night. And when Lopen and I determined that there was a good chance that Steel had converted you, I figured I'd try to use your and his reactions to determine the truth.

Whoa. What?

What??

It seemed like Elenion was the one to start this whole train on Steel. Or at least, provide the conclusive evidence. I don’t know why the Odiv would do that, unless they had a great alibi so that the accusation would clear them. Either way, we know we have at least two more night cycles until there’s a real need to kill the Odiv (or Gyorn, if Steel is the Odiv).

Well, the Jeskeri are back into the spotlight; let’s start finding who’s an elim. I’d say they want to take out the more aware players, but everyone posting analysis has pretty thorough analysis; lots of targets to choose from and such. Hopefully I don’t get killed, but then I’d be free to play Joe’s game. Maybe this will be over in the next cycle, eh? (No, I know, too many non-Derethi left).

Len did it because I told him I'd scanned Steel. He thought that Steel was outed, and was likely trying to protect himself from suspicion by cooperating and looking like he was excited to work with me to catch him. I asked him to start a train on Steel so we could watch and see who defended him (ostensibly to find steel's teammate).

But in reality, I knew Len was evil and wanted to see Steel's reaction to see if we could catch the Gyorn.

I feel like it’s Karma that Seonid is the one to take me down. I was hoping to dupe you twice but apparently not. Lightning doesn’t strike twice.

I don't know if you're playing mind games inside of mind games inside of mind games or what, but I'm not the Odiv. Either you're lying about your scan or you never scanned me, because I'm not only not the Odiv, it's not even possible for me to be the Odiv. I had the Derethi Pendant for one Day turn. I couldn't have been converted when it was passed, or when I passed it. Maybe there's some sort of secret role out there that can change what you scan as, because I'm positive you're village but I don't know why you would lie like that. I shouldn't have even shown up as a Derethi Convert, let alone as the Odiv.

Well,  your scan came back that you were aligned with Shu-Dereth, and a non convert. Consistent with either being the Gyorn or an Odiv converted while you held the pendant. Lopen and I assumed the latter, but the former is a possibility (although I find it unlikely for reasons we are both aware of).

Non-convert is right, but Derethi is wrong. Maybe my alignment was changed by a secret role. Maybe you're the Odiv and you're looking for a mislynch. I dunno. But something is very wrong and it's not my alignment.

How often are there secret roles when we aren't explicitly told that there are?

Well, the cycle is about to end. I feel like I've played as well as I can this game, I talked about it more in my doc. So yeah, good luck finding my odiv. I'm not sure what's going on with Len, but please go ahead and lynch him if it makes you feel better. :) I feel like this was one of my best played games, ever. So I'm going to my death with no regrets. As for why I feel this way, you will just have to see.
It's been a lovely dance I've done with you, Seonid. It is funny it worked out that way.
Yeah, absolutely a fun game. RIP me. But Jaddeth will never die. (look out for dakhor priests under your beds. They're everywhere)

Night 6: Reo

"They're coming, my Hroden."
I sat at my giant desk in my chapel. I had known they were coming for me. Such as it was. "Leave me, and do not engage them." My Odiv left.
I pulled out my Seon, and opened a communication with the Wyrn.
"My lord, my greatest fear has occurred. They have discovered my identity, most likely because of a meddling priest."
"You know what to do. Take the pill, and leave your Odiv to continue the work. If they fail, all of Arelon will burn and worship Jaddeth."
"Yes."
I closed communication. I went over to my inventory of items, and found the pill that the Wyrn had spoke of. I would do my best to stay alive, but given a horrible death, I would take this pill to die painlessly.
I headed outside, suddenly realizing I was still wearing my "Bob" hat. I really did like that hat too much. That was what probably had given me away.
Leaving the hat behind, resplendent in red armor, I exited the chapel to face a massive mob. Torches, the whole array of mob weapons. I was absolutely not going to die impaled on a pitchfork of all things.
"I see you have come to kill me. I NAME YOU HYPOCRITES! Many of you have come to me in the night, begging to become worshipers of Jaddeth, and now you show such fear and so little ambition and drive that you reject your conversion! You! Priest! I see you there. You're probably responsible for this whole thing. And yet YOU CAME TO ME, to worship Jaddeth. Your devotion to your Gods is so weak. You barely took a moment for Domi, and now you do not care about Jaddeth. Unlike miserable Domi, Jaddeth will NOT excuse this. I came to this nation to save you! The Wyrn would have simply destroyed you all, but I represent your one chance to worship Jaddeth and not be destroyed. But it seems your lack of devotion will get you destroyed anyway."
The crowd seemed pacified. I turned, but then was assaulted by one man from the front. One elbow and one punch, and he went down. But that was all it took for the mob to be unleashed. I threw the pill into my mouth and bit down. No death by pitchfork today, thank Jaddeth. I was punched, but all feeling began to leave, as I was knocked down. My vision went black, and I thanked Jaddeth for what work I had done.”

Steeldancer was lynched! He was the Gyorn and held a Seon which was passed on to an heir! Please give him many upvotes for this death writeup, which he wrote.

Actually I just noticed one mistake and fixed it. See the original post for the corrected vote tally.

My vote was cancelled because I apparently did two Seon actions during the day, unintentionally. Next time, Pyro, please don't ask me a question an hour before rollover. Thanks. :)
