Oaths & Covenants

Hi all! I’m a huge Cosmere fan. I’m LDS and I see the similarities between covenants and oaths from The Stormlight Archive. I’m listening to the Graphic Audio version of “The Way of Kings”.

There are a lot of similarities between covenants and oaths in the Stormlight Archive. Especially since a covenant is a promise made between man and God, where we are the only ones able to break our promise. It is the same with Spren in the case of the Stormlight Archive. Only the human can mess things up. We see this with Kaladin in the Way of Kings. Its cool to have an excellent fantasy writer who is LDS. I find his writing very exciting.

Oathbringer is my favorite book. I haven’t read all of the books . I’ve read all the Mystborn, Elantrist, and Stormlight Archive.

Brandon's religion does show in his writing at times. The great thing is that he can do that without detracting from the story or disrespecting other beliefs. A lot of openly religious writers have trouble with that.

Is it related to the Graphic Audio thing?  I thought those were just dramatised audiobooks?
