The point that Brandon is giving us so many questions, it makes sense that maybe they won’t be fully answered in the next book but further expanded. Leaving most of the questions to be answer in book 5. If that makes sense?

Further, if it is cannon that to become a knight radiant, you need to be broken then what better way than have Adolin find out his father was not the honourable man he thought he was. His father was a monster that killed out of bloodlust and murder his mother, hating Adolin in the process because of his resemblance to Evi.

Dalinar was brutal and bloodthirsty. But dishonorable?
They promised fealty, they broke their promise, Dalinar kiled them, as he had threatened. Honor is satisfied.
In fact you could argue that Evi was a traitress.

I really hope that the Ghostbloods are a force to be reckoned with in Stormlight 4, because nothing's really come of that plot line so far--it seems like Brandon is still planting seeds for a future plot. Also, yes please to the group of Parshendi who escaped stormform. They can't possibly have escaped just to die in the highstorm...

Yes. They are still kind of in the area. They have made their way out through the chasms, out onto some floodplains on the other side.

They’re definitely alive. :D

Venli owes them, they better be alive. She's got a big debt to pay after what she put them through!

In his killing of innocence you can argue was dishonourable and cowardly.

Cosmere lessons with Zahel for the radiant bunch.

Bondsmith throwdown with Dalinar and Ishar. Dalinar will use a certain evil destroying sword to kill him since heralds don't die easy.

Navani makes a fabrial that uses Dalinar's pretty new ruby.

Armor for Kal and maybe Dalinar (I'm fairly sure Jasnah has hers already).

Adolin swears at his sword.

Hopefully Jasnah and Malata have a fight. I think their surges would be cool against one another.

Lol at his sword.

And a cat-fight between Jasnah and Malata could be fun.

Honor by the time of his death (and by extension the Stormfather) was more concerned with the letter of the oath more than the meaning behind it due to Tanavast being under assault from Odium attempted to murder him and going a little crazy from it, so according to the Honor that existed closest to Dalinar's time and who's rules are probably the standing rules, it was technically honorable.

Honorable does not always mean good, especially when you're talking to a mad god.

Yes you're right but I was referring to Adolin possibly "breaking" to be able to become a radiant because he realises his father who he idealised wasn't as honourable of a man as he thought. I do agree with you completely just my response was out of context.

Right, sorry, my bad. I lost track of stuff.

Yeah, that would be a fair reason for Adolin to break that last bit needed to become a Radiant, since I'm sure losing his mother and his alcoholic father messed him up a little.

@Invocation it's all right fam, honourable might not be the exact word to describe what Adolin feels about his father but you are right at least I agree with what you said.

Also, I think it will be really cool to know more about the original radiants as individuals, like their thoughts about their oncoming betrayal.

Absolutely, that'll be great. I hope we get to see more of the gem translations in the future books so that we can get that perspective. Or maybe even a flashback to one if we're lucky, during an interlude or something.

DUDE! A flashback would be awesome! We would get to see the original ones that got trained by the heralds to understand their powers and how they compare with the current knights radiant.

We know Branderson sees nothing wrong with giving flashbacks to dead people, so it might even happen.

The Skybreakers would be interesting, seeing how much they've changed with Nale at the head versus with anyone else, or even with Nale before he got as bad as he is now. Or Windrunners, because Kaladin.

It is probably no secret that I am really curious about truthwatchers and one of the emeralds mentioned that they foretold something. I have a feeling this message in particular would be expanded on to help explain truthwatcher since they probably could "see" the truth that was happening as well as explain Renarin's future telling. So seeing a flashback of something like this would be very interesting.

That's fair. I like Truthwatchers as well, and I think we will will get a good portion of information on them during Renarin's POV book. That might be where an ancient Truthwatcher flashback would go.

Also maybe during the Herald POV books we get other flashbacks to ancient Radiants.

Maybe we might get a flashback of the one who wrote using the dawnchart language along with the progression of ancient Radiants. I think that will be very interesting to read and know because it will not only show the difference through each desolation but also their culture and religion which is also a massive theme Sanderson intertwines in his books.

Yeah, he does like making detailed cultures. More Dawnchant writing would be lit.

I wonder if we'll see Hoid pop up somewhere in the past.

If we don't see Hoid popping up in the past, he will become an inconsistent character. He says he just shows up whenever he's needed, usually when bad something was going to happen. So if he never came into contact with the Radiants, even on the days when they lost severely, Hoid would have his characterisation undermined.

BUT I would like to see more book cross overs like Mistborn because the worlds are interconnected so how cool would that be. Though that won't happen in book 4 but maybe book 5

There have already been Mistborn characters in Stormlight books (including one we haven't found yet) but more is always fun.

Shoot I must have missed them. But I think book four will all be about expanding the universe of these words along with extending the questions we all want answers to.

They're quick cameos. I'll list them in a spoiler tag right here if you want to go hunting for them (you have been warned, future reader of this thread):

Spoiler

Thinker at the Purelake in Way of Kings was Demoux (accompanied by Galladon from Elantris (Grump) and Baon from White Sand (Blunt)

Iyatil is one of the Hunters from Era 2

Felt was one of Straff's men and also shows up with Dalinar

Demoux's Terriswoman nurse wife is somewhere floating around (debatable if she's on Roshar right now, though)

There is also a kandra on Roshar, whom we haven't found yet

Expanding the world is always good, and I certainly hope we see those rogue parshmen again because of it, in addition to getting into Stonewards and the other lesser-focused orders.

Lol Most of those I hadn't read yet but luckily for you I like spoilers because I get curious by how the author writes it.

Yeah I feel like book 4 will be a breather, still action packed but more character building and world building

No big spoilers with character names. If I were you, though, if you haven't read Warbreaker already, you should do that before Stormlight 4.

I hope so. More lore is more fun, especially in the quantities that Sanderson writes.
