It's a wonder that the Chemical Engineering building on that campus is still standing. Hey, no fair! The most damage we can do is... get a few computers infected? You chemists mess something up and stuff's explodin'. We can't compare to that. Unless somebody storms something up in security or databases and a lot can storm up.
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) eh, I'm not very interested in the whole "shipping" business (I find it stupid to worry about in-world relationships) But I honestly wouldn't mind a Shaladin. Sure, Kaladin probably won't let it happen, but still, it would spice up SA a fair bit. And hey, Brandon could either have been foreshadowing it, or trolling us with their scenes. ---- "shipping business" heh. Edited February 28, 2017 by Darkness Ascendant

I mean, there are certain pairings I like, and some I prefer over others—for instance, I like Shadolin better than Shaladin—but if Shaladin wins over Shadolin, it won't ruin the series for me? I'll be disappointed, but I'll still be interested in how the Shaladin ship develops. Same! I would prefer Shaladin, but I don't really care that much, as long as its well-written.

A critique group is an excellent way to ensure that your story is something everyone agrees on. Many bestselling novels have maximized mediocrity, turning it into a bonafide art form, and a critique group is a very good way to achieve that weaponized cromulence quickly. This explains so much. Especially about YA bestsellers, how they all seem like roughly the same three books told over and over, in the same underdeveloped worlds with— Quote Bonus: a critique group, if given enough time, soon becomes a cult, and if you write really well, your story can become the cult’s holy book. And then one day you’ll be naked in the woods summoning LORD VURBILEX, THE RECONDITE SCION OF TURGID WORDSMITHY, HERETIC OF THE PROSELANDS, and he’s your god, now, so kill a goat and get to writing, you stupid vessel. Spoiler Somehow, this still also explains rabid fandoms. 3
Erunion he/him Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 @Deliiiiiightful - Oh my sweet summer child. Quote " Margaret Atwood is also a lycanthropic bear-person, because she’s Canadian, and all Canadians are lycanthropes. " This is false. As a Canadian, I can say this is categorically false. We are not all Lycanthropes. Obviously. Definitely, Clearly. Without doubt or hesitation. Just.... uhh.... My grandpa used to teach geology at a local school, so he was friends with a bunch of other teachers in the science department. Well, one day the chem teacher was cleaning out some old beakers, bottles, and test tubes, washing them out with water in the sink. He came across a bottle that had something crystallized in it, so he set it under the running water so it could fill up. Took a few steps away and got a bad feeling like he should RUN NOW, so he followed the hunch and booked it out the door of the chem lab just in time to avoid getting flattened by the explosion of sodium metal in the bottle reacting with the tap water. All the windows in the chem lab blew out, but nobody was seriously hurt, thankfully.

A Budgie she/her Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 So I was looking through some stuff, and I found some pieces of infinite wisdom I made, after I discovered I was good at coming up with them. Read them, for they are inspirational and will provide a guide to life. Life is akin to a radish. It is hard, and can be difficult to swallow. It’s also red, and has leaves. Of course, even though a bird is meant for flying it may still walk. As they say, even the wisest of men cannot always tell which way the clam opens. Or, in other words, a cherry blossom always falls down, except when it doesn't. One may only be one, but two is always two. Even just half of a pie is bigger than half of no pie. Life is like a book. It is round, and tastes of banana. To have a life is like being given a length of time in which you may be born, live, and then die. 4

Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 We are all meta-physical incarnates of perfection. Each part is it's own variation, some haven't discovered their perfection, others deny it's existence. But it exists in each and every on of you. You just have to find it.

Quiver he/him Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 There are two blogs that I really enjoy reading, both of which do analysis of A Song of Ice and Fire. They did a podcast where they talked with each other and their thoughts regarding stuff about the series. I was expecting them to sound "different", of course. What I wasn't expecting was for them to sound like I expected the other person to sound. In other words, Person A? Sounds like how I hear Person B's posts. And Person B has the voice that I read Person A's posts in. This is confusing. 4
The Honor Spren she/her Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Agh. Reference photos for male body types are so hard to find! References for female body types are all over the place, because All Women are Beautiful™ but all the references for guys look the same. I get the feeling this might say something about our society, but all I want is a reference for a guy who has a broad build without being fat. 1

That's funny, I thought there was much more male body type diversity because girls are all Thin And Pretty while men can be human. Chris Evans? Chris Hemsworth? Dwayne Johnson? Also Okierete Onoadowan (sp?). Edited March 2, 2017 by Deliiiiiightful 1
