@Drake Marshall What decides the rank for all the ability thingys?

Also, where can I go to make a pony?

Edit: Also, just started reading Worm.

Yessss worm is excellent.

The threat evaluations are from Worm; you will see them at some point.

Ironically, some of the most interesting, scary, and influential parahumans in the Wormverse (Weaver and Jack) have relatively insignificant power ratings :)

Hm, we've had some characters who make motivators before, but I don't think there's been a straight-up weapons dealer who buys DNA samples, like Diamond in Newcago.

Karabiner should be one. I mean, he only makes some of the weapons himself, and they work differently, but the Fence will definitely deal other Epic tech.

That's good. I really like it.

So I’ll probably use all of these as very minor characters we can use as members of the belt to kill off ask something other than defenseless mobs. I’ll put them in my characters if there’s no objections.

Spoiler

Marksman: Able to mark one person, and know their direction relative to him at any time. Must touch the person to mark them.

Buckshot: An energy epic capable of launching a volley of small, bright streaks of hard light in a general direction, with little precision. They have a range of approximately 50 feet.

Uniform: Gains the skills of the person who most wore the clothing he is currently wearing. Ie. fireman outfit =fireman skills.

Reaction: can perfectly counter any attack made in an effort to harm her, in any way. This ability requires activation, so a bullet fired while she is unprepared would easily kill her. Checkmates apply.

TideBreaker: Ages rapidly with the tides in his area. In landlocked regions he is powerless, but on the coast he becomes younger and stronger at high tides and weaker and older at low. Functionally immortal as long as he stays on the coast.

PiePlate: Can create an unlimited supply of pie plates, in a variety of sizes. Surprisingly useful.

Countering any attack that is seen and functional immortality are not exactly what I'd call minor abilities. :P

Factional cannon fodder? Me like.

Voidus has a point about Reaction's abilities, though; it is good to define the limitations of powers that seem "open-ended" sometimes. Can she only defend against one specific sort of attack at a time? If so, how quickly can she cycle from one protection type to another? Depending on the answer to these questions, this could either function as a moderate defensive power, or as a Steelheart tier invulnerability power.

Ah, what the heck, here are one or two lesser epics in Epoch's territory for use. Feel free to kill them. Or to write as them, if you want.

Vitriol: Everything about them is acidic. Their blood, their spit, and their sarcasm. Specifically, fluoroantimonic acid. Somehow, they can survive this.

Clapper: Can overload all electric lights in a building by clapping. Causes the sun to expode if performed outside. Has no effect if performed outside.

Random idea: Big Mac. Can cause one big mac per minute to come out of his pocket. His weakness is Burger King.

This sounds very, very much like Big Al, if I am not mistaken.

Edit:

Spoiler

Epic Name: Big Al

Faction: Refugee

Power: Can pull a Sausage McMuffin out of his Pocket. Even if he doesn't have a pocket.

Weakness: Any Taco Bell food item, or the Taco Bell Logo.

I do have a file of about 100,000 Epics of varying strength if anyone ever wants some minor Epics to pad out numbers or act as canon fodder.

Close, but the other way around, the WoB came about because we asked to see how plausible the character was. :P

For uniform, is it more of a type association or would the fireman uniform actually need to have been worn by a fireman?

Reaction has already been asked about.

Little trivia: the Tidebreaker is the name of an Epic pirate ship in the old RP. (Don't worry about it.)

Which reminds me, I need a new Epic to ponify...

Punchline: Can set a Punchpoint with each of his fists and then create a line that will instantly cut/pierce anything inbetween those two points.

Okay, my ideas gave me something I can work with. Pony to follow soon.

So... does he literally physically hurt people with sarcasm?

Little trivia: Clapper is the name of a canon High Epic with space warping powers. (Don't worry about it. )

The uniform would need to have been worn by a fireman. For reaction, how about she can only use the ability once during her sleep cycle. Regrettably, she’s an insomniac.

EDIT: to clarify, for tidebreaker by immortal I mean he would live forever if he never got sick or was injured. Not that he was invulnerable.

I think there's also a WoB that no Epic is immune to aging. I can try to track it down.

Nah, I can take that part. It only came up because I was trying to think of what point in his life the tide would bring him to, and if it was always the same point he would logically never age past that.

It doesn’t particularly affect his character, so how about he just gets the strength boost and then a decrease at low tide.

You could keep the physical change but just that his internal organs don't necessarily become any healthier, so he can still die from old age. He'd just look very young when he did so.

I'd still be curious how exactly the countering works. Does she just get a random power that'd be useful in the situation?

Yeah I remember that too.

Actually I just remember something else. Epics aren't supposed to be able to create gold. We have one of those in the new batch, don't we?

There was something in Steelheart to that effect but in Calamity we also learn of a power that's just general matter creation, which I do assume would include gold. So I think it's mostly that there's none who can do it on a large scale.

But also, probably best to play it safe and avoid it just in case.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the general matter manipulation was limited both in volume and how long it could exsist. So probably less "can’t make gold" And more "can’t make gold in a way that would make a difference to the ecconomy."

No known Epics can. It’s still possible.

For reaction, it’s more like fortuitous danger sense lite mode. When engaged as she is attacked, her body will find the most likely route out of the situation.
