Reckoners is not Cosmere.  However, there was a recent WOB that was really confusing that said that the Cosmere was part of a wider multiverse that the god beyond created, which the Reckoners might be part of as well.

Obliteration is a Firesoul Ferring combined with an Elsecaller with no Soulcasting.

Conclusion: Reckoners is Cosmere

Do you have the WoB on that? Brandon in the past has been pretty clear that nothing set on earth is Cosmere.

Well, I have a pretty decent idea for everything I'm writing, now :) Looking forward to when this starts up.

For the "faction" I mentioned earlier... When we have a GM, it would be best if I could explain it to them in a PM. For now though, I'll just say its location is pretty out of the way, specifically I was thinking South Edmonton Common.

Did the other Epics with PIs die too?

Some did. As I mentioned before, you might want to check the final Astoria post I made. Or better yet, read the thread.

Also, I'm pretty sure we all agreed that Lightwards is kind of a lore screw up that, as enjoyable as he was, needs to be burried under the remains of Oregon.

Wasn’t Obliteration also involved in Oregon’s destruction?  I remember we started that sharing thread just in case.  I know Mary kind of became Night’s Sorrow at the end (or a Night’s Sorrow), at least in our continuity, so she was involved.

Yeah, I don't think we got any further with Obliteration than "wouldn’t he be cool."

I noticed I never actually made my final wrap up for Corvallis, so I did my best to write it now.

Spoilers for What Happened in Corvallis and not particularly story related but just a note for Comatose:

Spoiler

The thought was that Rainmaker, acting on Euphoria's advice, answered the phone and realized what was happening, and that the fastest way to end the city would be for Cornucopia to end it. If it was too out of character I'm happy to change it to something else.

Voidus...that was an awesome ending.

Thanks, I always meant to post it at some point but I was fairly busy when we stopped the last RP and I guess at some point I just forgot :(

Better late than never, that's for sure.

It was great. I think that’s the best conclusion we have.

I just realized that if someone is planning on doing an illusion Epic, could it please be the one that Liam the Moose accidentally saved with his van? I would love to see them reunite, and see their reactions when they recognize each other.

Edit: I've added this to Liam's bio

Dispersophone: This device is a piece of Epic tech created by Margaret using a sample from Sentinel. Outwardly, it looks like a record player hooked up to a large speaker. When played, Epic powers within 30ft (excluding passive abilities) of the device are disabled, and residual effects from Epic abilities (such as time barriers, force fields, mists, etc) are removed within this radius. Epics within earshot find that their abilities are weakened.

Sounds good, but remember that multiple motivators need multiple samples in most cases, and that using this will cause sentinel to enter a frenzied state.

Just summarizing my plans so I've got them written down/if anyone has issues with them, but I'll probably have a few characters at the start of the RP and potentially introduce others as time goes on.

Start: Scribbler arrives in Edmonton, as do both momentum twins (power profile for Impact below for those who haven't read the Dalles) and I'll also write my Maple characters who are in Edmonton already along with Iva probably. Magmaw, Neverthere and Purple Phoenix will stay in the backlog for the time being.

Impact:

Spoiler

Primary power: Can impart momentum to anything she touches, the momentum is applied only to the point of contact so if she uses this ability too quickly she can crush things, can use this ability on herself to fly but hasn't realized or tested this ability as of yet.
Momentum imparting (Tier 3)
    - Power (Tier 4)
    - Limitation (Tier 4)
    - Range (Tier 1)

Appearance: Identical to her sister Megan

A few issues with this: Motivators cause immense discomfort if the Epic they're created from is still alive. Plus, if a canceller motivator existed I feel like that would be something that full on wars would be fought over. If they ever use it they will almost certainly get immediately swarmed and killed by Epics.

It also highlights an issue that only just became apparent to me: Margaret is not a biologist yet is capable of creating Motivators? That we know of canonically only 1 scientist in the entire fractured states was talented enough to discover how to create Epic tech, believing that someone from an entirely different field could just pick it up with a single blood sample and no actual lab is stretching belief beyond what I think I could reasonably hold.
A particle physicist who researched Epics and attempted to understand the science of their powers I could understand (Indeed it was one of my characters in the old RP) but a scientist picking up an entirely new field to the point that they can become a pioneer in it to a national level is a bit different.

Ack. I did not realize that. That is quite a mistake on my part. Now knowing this, and realizing that Margaret would probably not be able to accomplish this with that sort of background, I'm going to scrap Margaret's whole backstory regarding her ability to create Motivators, including Liam's magic radio. I had a brilliant scene in my mind where Liam would crash into the scene in his van, blasting Elvis from the record player and disabling all of the Epics, but alas, it cannot be.

However, I will still have Circle of the Shield agents' mission be to collect Epic samples for study, and for Margaret still to be fascinated by Epic powers.

Makes sense, and they could still be trading them as currency for weapons/Epic tech from traders.
Also sorry if my comment came on as a bit aggressive, it's a bit late here so that may have seemed harsher than I meant it to. Just highlighting something I saw as potentially awkward for the game.

It's no problem. Really, I'm not planning for the Circle of the Shield or Margaret to become particularly involved in Edmonton or get any screen-time aside from a flashback or something of that sort, so the particulars of what Margaret can or cannot do wasn't paramount.

Yes, but there is a WOB that the Cosmere is part of a multiverse, so it's possible that the Reckonerverse is part of the wider multiverse as well.  It's just my headcannon.

And problem already solved, nice. While we're bringing up details again. If I remember right, Epic DNA traders prefer dead cells, both because it obfuscates the truth and because that way there won't be raging Epics coming after them.

There was mention of some people who try to steal living Epic blood IIRC but yeah I'd say traders would definitely want the DNA from dead Epics.

Oh yeah, nothing stopig the Circle from gathering living DNA too, especially if they haven't figured out Motivators yet and don't know about the drawbacks. Just makes it harder to trade.

Could make for some very amusing situations if they traded anyway and the trader just didn't ask. :D

"So who is this DNA from?"
"Uh... Voidgaze?"
"Sparks, I actually liked that one. Good job killing a High Epic though."
"Yeah... we sure are awesome." *Quickly flees to the next major city*

OH YES!  Especially if they implied they were the Reckoners to avoid discovery, so the trader thought they were dead.

Really, I imagine killing the Epic, and being able to verify the kill, is a big part of how you can actually prove your DNA is worth anything. Otherwise you can just claim that it's from whatever Epic is nearby.

Hm, we've had some characters who make motivators before, but I don't think there's been a straight-up weapons dealer who buys DNA samples, like Diamond in Newcago.

@Drake Marshall What decides the rank for all the ability thingys?

Also, where can I go to make a pony?

Edit: Also, just started reading Worm.
