It probably depends on which Kindle you have.  I'd never go for a graphic novel on my Paperwhite, but then I buy all my Cosmere books as real books anyway.  No idea what it'd look like on a Fire.

I have a Paperwhite. XD

Does anyone have any idea what graphic novels are like on the kindle? I tend to buy my books that way recently, but I'm concerned about White Sand. Will it look good on a kindle?

*raises hand* I once read some free manga on paperwhite (I regret it so much. Watching paint dry would have been a better use of my time than reading that stuff.)

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it. It's in black and white, for starters. (Though that part's kinda obvious) You have to turn the page way more often than usual, because they tend to put a panel per page. (Though not all of them do) And it takes forever for them to download. (#FirstWorldProblems)

There's a computer Version of Kindle as well I think, which should be better. You can also try getting a free Sample first, to see how the page and everything is displayed.

I haven't attempted to read any graphic novels on my Kindle (I have the cheapest, most basic model), but I imagine it wouldn't be as good as a hardcopy, if only because the Kindle only has a black and white display. Also, the screen isn't big enough to view an entire page of comics and still be able to read the text. (It makes viewing maps a pain too.)

On my fire, I read Sandman: Overture. It was about an equal pro/con. Mine's only a 7" but it was alright reading, just a slight bit awkward.

And I'm on a buisness trip, so I can't get it on time either. We'll live tough, as long as we eliminate all possible sources of spoilers.

But Edgedancer I like most of these people! Eliminating them seems very drastic and in disagreement to my general enjoyment.

I won't be reading White Sand along with everyone else, so you won't need to eliminate me!

Nobody said anything about murder, I was talking about not going anywhere near the topics that somebody might put spoilers in and getting the amnesia beam ready.

I don't think I could manage to hold my general stay away policy, if you were one the potential sources.

Bizarre happenings like "police showing up" and "evening news splashing his face all over"?:P

Depends on what you count as mentally healthy. What about someone like James Bond's more murderous incarnations?

More like "She isnt dead, the body is where he left it, but she is still living next to him".

I've decided to buy White Sand... and then it turns out that the store which had it at reasonable price displays "product unavailable" and the only other store have it at 150% of the price! AAAAAAAA!!!! panic!

Mailed them and asked if I could still get it

The good news:  I have successfully weaseled my way out of going north 3.5 hours to spend the holiday weekend bored out of my skull in a rural place with nothing to do.

The bad news:  The excuse I used is actually legit - we need to spend the time working on the old house.  Still to do:  some painting, replacing vinyl flooring in entryway and kitchen, redoing the kitchen countertops, replacing the shower in the master bathroom.  We have people coming to fix and repaint all of the siding.  I'm sure I'm forgetting something in this list.

Please let us be ready to put this thing up for sale by autumn...please please please...

I have returned to the glorious realm of the internet. Hello again, friends!

I have already begun the indocrination of my niece Frodo. I read the Hobbit to her in the car and, well, I call her Frodo. Unfortunately, there were no Sanderson books handy, but I'll make sure to have one nearby the next time I'm on a long car trip with her.

It's all about persistence.

How old is your niece? For some reason whenever people mention their nieces and nephews, I picture them as like 8 years old or younger by default until someone tells me otherwise. (Probably because I'm 21 and for people my age who have nieces and nephews, they're still pretty young.)

I usually jump to assuming that, but then I remember my friends whose nephews are only 4 years younger they are.
