I hadn't heard of it before, but I just looked it up.

Ditto. Why do you ask, @Slowswift?

Ok, something else random I want to talk about. Found this poster of minimalist X-Men on Facebook, and I'm a tad bit confused about two of their identities. I can name most of them, no problem. Top row: Wolverine, Cyclops, Colossus, Beast, Gambit, Psylocke, Iceman. Bottom row: Nightcrawler, Phoenix, Jubilee, Rogue, Storm, Jean Grey?, Professor Xavier. My confusion stems from the presence of both Jean Grey and Phoenix, since Jean Grey is the person most commonly associated with the Phoenix Force and the green costume shown on this graphic. I'm aware that Rachel Summers has also used the codename Phoenix, though, so I'm thinking the X-Man between Nightcrawler and Jubilee is probably her. @Quiver, you're the comics afficionado here; what do you think?

I will be finding myself in a bookstore tomorrow. Im thinking Coraline, Neverwhere and some Dresden Files. Any recommendations?

@Morzathoth Coraline creeped me out so bad I warn everyone who asks me away from it, but being that you're the Eldritch god of the Shard, it might be right up your alley.

I haven't read Neverwhere, but I highly recommend The Dresden Files. My two favorites from that series are Dead Beat and Skin Game.

Buffy:

Spoiler

Finishing up the body-swap two-parter.

….

I know Faith has had a rough time of it.

I know that, as of this episode, she is not in her right mind, and hasn't been for some time.

I know that, due to the trauma she's suffered, a lot of her antisocial behavior is basically one loud cry for help.

But I still think it will still be a long time before I feel anything but dislike towards her.

You haven't seen the last of her yet.  Go switch over to Angel now. :)

Sparks, I can't stop laughing! One of my friends on Facebook posted, "Hey [family members]! Why can't we have a puppy instead of a hermit carb?"

And so I made this. (Sorry for hugeness! Not sure how to shrink it down.)

@Delightful Right. Pasta is full of carbs, which is why I chose that picture to meme on the mistype of "hermit crab." Maybe it's not as funny as I thought.

Yeesh. Typical, right? A comic question, and I go AWOL...

Anyway, yeah, those are both definitely Jean Grey. Rachel Summers used the Pheonic codename, but her costumes have always been radically different from the classic green Pheonix one. Similarly, Maddy has had her own costumed identity which does not correspond to the Pheonix at all.

Since most of those guys are from the 90's show, I'd say they just threw both Jean and Pheonix in there since both have very distinctive, and iconic, looks.

(Though, if you want a rationalisation, there IS the fact that when Jean first became the Pheonix, she didn't. The Pheonix Force just adopted her shape, mind and personality while she recuperated from the effects of space radiation at the bottom of a river. So, technically, one could argue that the Pheonix character there is the Pheonix-Force-Posing-As0Jean, while the Jean picture is Jean as the the real Jean.)

And if you think that is complicated, then you don't even want to know about Xorn.
You don't even wanna.
