Edgedancer he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Astoria -Corpsemaster: I have more stuff here, but I guess I'm waiting for someone to interact with. Voidus...? *whimpers for attention* If you really want the attention, Bloody Mary could welcome him back in the city. You have my word that Wastelands will continue doing its thing. On a semi-related note, does anyone know why there's so little out there about the Wastelands? Very few Epic profiles or plot line descriptions are available. Is there something dating back near it's creation which I'm unaware of? The majority of said information is in here. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pYX29lV-iQc3ybuo8IxqXy_TUPjHnJko1fnM2JaZAng/edit#heading=h.eza6jahbk5yx
Blackhoof Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 What do people think that my Darwin Epics look like, anyway? Chatter? Pain? Ivystorm? Crystalvision? Birdrider? Starshatter? i never really formed solid mental images of them
Mestiv he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Alright! It's been a while since anything has happened in most of the threads, so I think it's about time to passive-aggressively post the link to the almighty spreadsheet! It may or may not have been updated recently. Probably not. From Spreadsheet's memory banks, and from my own imperfect knowledge of what has and has not been written, here's the breakdown: ... Corvallis -Whatever: This city has so many loose ends at the moment that I'm not even sure where to start. I don't even write in this thread. Go figure it out for yourselves I'd love to tie some of those ends, but I can't do it alone Anyway, I'll try to write another Argon post just so you don't forget about him 1
Chandrian Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 (edited) As an FYI, I've taken charge of the Bushfire hunt. I'm not exactly sure what Bladestorm is up to right now. I just noticed it on the spreadsheet and thought I should tell you. I plan to get a post up on Wastelands in the next few days. Edited May 27, 2016 by Bluefingers

Mckeedee123 he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Is Headshot actually dead? I remember that Nathan whacked him in the head from behind during the fight, but I'm not sure if anyone finished the job. Cog, you should adopt a few permanent characters. Frankly, you're an excellent writer. If you really want the attention, Bloody Mary could welcome him back in the city. Fun. I'll PM you when I get back from work.

Frankly, you're an excellent writer. Fun. I'll PM you when I get back from work. Now that you mention it, I don't think anyone ever confirmed his corpse. I mean after said punch to the head he suffered a rather high fall, so there's a good chance that killed him or at least knocked him out for long enough for Funtimes raising the museum making it impossible for him to sneak away but on a purely tecnical scale, it's possible, i suppose. I agree on Cog's skill as a writer certainly though. Edited May 27, 2016 by Edgedancer 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 I'm with Mckeedee and Edge, Cog. If you'd rather start smaller (ish), I wouldn't be opposed to expanding Headshot's role in the flashbacks.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Thank you so, so much! It means a massive amount to me that you like my writing — I've been reading your RP posts for 6 months before I joined, and have come to love each and every one of your characters. Receiving your approval of my work… well, that's one of the highest compliments that I could receive. I actually wasn't too sure about the Headshot post, though. I was proud of a few lines (e.g: "Swish of the brush, split of the skull. Different paint, same result: art."), but overall I was a bit concerned. So, I'm ecstatic that you ended up liking it! Yes, I would definitely be open to keeping Headshot as a permanent character. I had a lot of fun writing for him, and I feel it could be greatly enjoyable to detail his path from Koschei's death to the MoNA. I'm also holding on to Florist and plan to write for Teddy Cuddlekin and Mister Hamsterface when the plot starts moving around them again. I'm sorry that I haven't written for some of the more immediately adoptable characters, though. It's kind of hard, because the people who leave tend to be the same people who create, well, unengaging characters (with a few obvious exceptions, such as Mashadar or Joe), so it's rather tough for me to write for Epics like Parity or Hydron. I apologize for that. But, above all, I'm simply elated that my writing is liked in this wonderful little community. I think you're all lovely people, and I'm looking forward to participating in this fantastic project for many years to come. edit: added details It's kind of fun to see how Headshot is kind of stumbling into becoming an important character more and more. Don't worry about not picking up characters like Parity by the way, we're hardly expecting you to pick up the slack of of everyone.

And to think his notoriety began the moment I forgot I'd already used his name for another bit Epic.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 And to think his notoriety began the moment I forgot I'd already used his name for another bit Epic. Tecnically you weren't even the one that used/came up with him the first time around.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Tecnically you weren't even the one that used/came up with him the first time around. Headshot has always been with us. Headshot is eternal.

Edgedancer he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Headshot has always been with us. Headshot is eternal. That's one way to look at it. *cough cough* and then he died *cough cough* Or did he?
Comatose he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I'd love to tie some of those ends, but I can't do it alone Anyway, I'll try to write another Argon post just so you don't forget about him Loved the Argon post! I really enjoy how he uses his random pie power as a smoke screen. I'm curious to see how Rick reacts to Buttercup's arrival. Corvallis -Whatever: This city has so many loose ends at the moment that I'm not even sure where to start. I don't even write in this thread. Go figure it out for yourselves I compiled a bit of a list of to-do things in Corvallis back in Question 18, but here's an updated version. I don't think there's as many "loose ends" as you think. Iconoclast - Pretty much done for the day, he's RP'd up until night. He might get a visit from Insight yet, but I think that's about it (Blackhoof, feel free to add anything in). Argon/Buttercup/Kenshin- Waiting for Buttercup to show up. The rest of the RP has pretty much caught up to him in terms of timeline. Kenshin will come along to meet up with Argon, so their plotlines will sync up. Later Kenshin gets an Insight visit. Queens - Aside from Buttercup and Rainmaker, I think the business of the other Queen's is pretty wrapped up. They will have some action later near the end of the day at a meeting, and will also probably all react to Rainmaker's big evening speech. Princess GOOD - I might do a check-in, but nothing pressing. Rainmaker - Now that she's "dealt" with Thunderspear, she needs to meet with Chasmfiend. After that, we just have the Queen's meeting and Rainmaker's speech. Insight/Euphoria - End of day shenanigans. Vanillas - Not sure what the plans are at this point, but thus far Summer and the rebellions plotlines have seemed fairly independent. Hopefully we can get them more integrated in the next game day. Everyone will be reacting to Rainmaker's speech, so they'll all have that to look forward to. I think that covers pretty much everything. I'm gonna leave Peregrine and Legacy for now (I might side-line them permanently, or leave them in Insight's backstory). If anyone has something to add, let me know. 1
Mestiv he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Loved the Argon post! I really enjoy how he uses his random pie power as a smoke screen. I'm curious to see how Rick reacts to Buttercup's arrival. Thanks Feels good to read something like that ^^ Summer's story is currently blocked by Argon/Buttercup/Kenshin events. She's just waiting for Argon to arrive at his house. I'm open for engaging Summer in the rebellion. Also, I have an idea! Last man standing game! We start a new thread, everyone interested gets to create one non-high Epic for themselves. Players form a team of Epics that want to take over London or any other big city, which story we don't know. The rules are: 1) Players can't fight other players. 2) Once every 4 days I randomly make a list a'la secret santa. The presents are enemy Epics. Someone gives you a description of another non-High Epic and you have to describe your characters fight with them (victorious ). 3) If you fail to "win your fight" in 4 days, another player is free to describe the defeat of your character. 4) If you failed to "win" in 4 days, but no one described your death, you can still catch up and keep playing. 5) There may be special rounds where all players fight with one powerful enemy or sometimes there may be teams. 6) The game end when there is only 1 player left or after 16 days since last players death. What do you think? We would have a place for some fun fights AND a motivation to frequently write

What do you think? We would have a place for some fun fights AND a motivation to frequently write I'm certain we'll get something delightful of him rating Buttercup and Kenshin. So the idea is to write a fight scene within 4 days each turn, right? I imagine there would be some kind of restrictions against just writing: "Raging Revolver shoots Deathbeard in the forhead before he can react and emerges victoriously." Also what would the rules be about the "fight stage" so to speak?
Mestiv he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Yeah, there would be some minimal word count you must achieve witch each post. Other rules are up to discussion, I just want to know what you generally think about the idea before we invest more time in it.

Mestiv he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 If everyone was sure about how consistently they'll write the game would be less fun. And let's remember that to eliminate another player without risking own life, someone has to find time to write double the words required.

Comatose he/him Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Hey Twi, for the Quota/Upgrade scene, who would you like to go first? I'm fine with either. Also, I've skimmed Portland, and have read all of Upgrade's scenes, but I haven't read the entire thing. Are there any key points I should be sure to familiarize myself with before RPing? I'd like to read the whole thing eventually, but it is daunting.

Comatose he/him Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I'm fine with either, too. Want to flip a coin? Sure! Let's do this. Going off our avatars, I'll take heads and you can have tails. ... I got Heads, so I'll get a post up some time in the next couple of days .
