"Leaving for work in ten minutes? Perfect time to introduce a crazy person to the Dalles!"

Not my smartest move. Ah well.

So these are the characters I need to write a scene for:

Vaughn

Financier

Anyone else? Should I do a Funtimes scene?

For the Financier scene, should we set up how to proceed the scene with all the people involved or do you want to wing it?

I don't think a Funtimes scene is strictly necessary. One would mostly be needed to move the scene as a whole forwards, for example to move us towards repairing Voidgaze's house or if you just want her to get involved in the other girl's conversation, go for it. Nothing that's a priority right now though.

I never would dream of telling people to not take care of their work but I like the result of it emmensly. Loving Lyla so far. ;)

So I take it that you choose the route leading to a meeting with Shiny?

I was going to set up a Google doc for the flashback and the rest of the scene, if desired, but then i got distracted by moving. Not fun. 1/10, would not recommend.

Loving Lyla so far, Quiver. Did you need me to PM you any additional information on Koschei to flesh out her backstory, or did you just want to do that as you go? Either is fine. :)

Sounds good. I remember the last time i renovated my room. That alone was quite a chore, so I agree. Although, I'd argue the destination can make it worth it.

I think I figured out why she's so popular, appart from being unique, she's insane. A perfect fit for us.

I computed some numbers, and the results were somewhat disturbing.

In the first 6 months of What Happened in Portland, 808 posts were made in the RP thread. If we subtract 20 — my estimate of the amount of OOC posts present — we are left with a total of 788 RP posts.

In the last 6 months, there have been only 37.

First 6 months of Portland: 788 RP posts

Latest 6 months of Portland: 37 RP posts

If we add the Dalles to the first 6 months (104 posts), we have a total of 892 RP posts in the first 6 months of WHiO.

If we add the Dalles to the past 6 months (65 posts), there have been a total of 102 posts in the Dalles and Portland in the past 6 months.

First 6 months of WHiO: 892 RP posts

Latest 6 months of WHiO, in Portland and the Dalles: 102 RP posts

In the last 6 months, Portland and the Dalles have had 11.44 percent of the posts they had in the first 6 months of WHiO. For Portland, the first RP thread, it's 4.69 percent.

Guys… I'm worried about original WHiO.  :(

Like Blackhoof said, the big problem here is that we now have way more threads and way more characters. Also, more people.

If we wanted to do something about it, perhaps we could create a sort of spreadsheet or doc which we update as we go with all of the currently running plotlines, and who needs to post to get them done. Biweekly, we could post onto the Questions thread who needs to write what. I mean, sure, it'd be sort of obnoxious to be reminded so regularly, but organization is key, and it'd make procrastination more nerve-racking (we've all been there.)

I'd have no idea how to design a spreadsheet but I like to think that I have a good grasp of most of our plotlines,(with maybe the exception of Salem, given that I'm not invloved in it) so I could make a write up, if people are interested.

I've been having some difficulties finding time to get through all the plots, so a quick history and whats to come would be a great idea.

And yeah we had talked about the mercenaries but we ran into the gifting range issue. However, One of the immortals was in tribourne and maintained their powers, so it could be said that not all gifters have a range, or that it permanently affected their bodies somehow.

That's a good point, potentially a minor plot hole actually.

In the books they work it out to be 16 miles I think.

I'm sure we can work things out for your characters though- how about they tend to stay close by each other and thus the humans never lose the powers?

I also think the spreadsheet is a good idea. Politely prodding people is probably the perfect plan for progressing the plot lines.

....I got about halfway through that sentence before I realized what I was doing, so I rolled with it XD

I'm also beginning to create a spreadsheet that will hopefully compile all of my Epics into one document rather than being sprawled across 20 or so since I keep wanting to make new Epics when I'm on different computers or when I forget where my original document is.

Hoping I'll be able to sort them a bit too.

I'm considering the idea that its not truly gifting so much as having the ability to change very specific muscle structures and enhancing their bodies, rather than true gifting. Theoretically, other epics who arent classified as gifters could do things like this(I'm looking at you, bioterror). 1-1 would just have a very specific sort of biological abilities which he uses on himself and others, but he has a maximum enhancement and he can't take it away. Also maybe he could have an almost trumpeter ability which makes people want to follow him fanatically?

He's tried, he tends to accidentally kill people when he tries though.

But yeah if he controlled himself a bit better he could do some interesting things.

I got a rudimentary spreadsheet up, let me know what people think. Still working on it.

If you want, I can take a bit of time to make it a bit more clear what is going on. I'm pretty good with organizing information. It will have to be individually updated by each person initially, because it will be bigger the way I have in mind and I don't know everyone who is active or who is next in any thread. I should have time Tuesday (tomorrow for me) and definitely will have time Thursday.

Yeah feel free to edit it, I just wanted to provide a base framework for now.

So should I get started with a wastelands post?

If no one else had any objections then absolutely.

Theory: If Backtrack saw a boggart, he would drive it into a state of permanent confusion, as the poor creature wouldn't know which fear to take the form of first.

Conclusion: Backtrack is better than a Riddikulus Charm.

Subtheory: If a Dementor ever encountered Backtrack, the amount of fear it would absorb is so great it would cause it to explode.

Conclusion: Backtrack is also the ultimate anti-dementor weapon.

Subconclusion: Backtrack was born in the wrong universe. :P

definitely, that is basically what Iconoclast does too (except in people's brains) so as long as you keep it within a realistic amount of alteration (so they are as strong or as fast as a very very strong or fast normal guy could be, for instance) I have no issue with it.

Inspiring fanaticism is probably too strong a form of mind control, however, from what we know is canon. Maybe he can inspire feelings of loyalty, awe, adoration etc, so that people are just more likely to follow him? Like a powerful Rioter that can only riot loyalty.

So should I get started with a wastelands post?

yeah, as Voidus said go ahead :)

We can start a private conversation too to work out the details of the interaction and get some ideas about the hunt for Bushfire and such

EDIT: Also, I've added some plotlines to the document :)

Sub-subtheory: Though Deathwish would aggressively hit on any dementors he encountered, the creatures would refuse to kiss him. They would instead simply utilize the "dementor's slap" to drive him off.

So, before I put up a Candyflame post, (which unfortunately didn't happen during break) I suppose I should have a formal profile.

Name: Candyflame

Primary power: Can mentally crystallize and/or burn sugar. Must be within ten feet.

Secondary/passive power: Resistant to heat change.

Appearance: to be edited in when I am not on mobile.

Personality: Outwardly apathetic.

Random side-note: I already mentioned this in Random stuff but the Reckoners RP is my second family so I thought I'd share it here too, apologies for being one of those people who overshares stuff about their children :P

Got the ultrasound yesterday and found out that Voidus Junior is a girl! Which leads to a problem of what to call them here, Lady Voidus? Princess Voidus? Mrs.Voidus Jr?

EDIT: Side, side note: New around the cosmere segment due for the RP so if anyone has any ideas or favourite posts from the last month or so let me know!
