Orlion Blight he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Yyyeah, umm... I oppose Sanders from the left. Le gasp! 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Thanks Twi In your case, if this is not typical behavior, I'd look for some mark of high stress that's causing her to lash out in frustration at a handy target. Yeah, it sucks and it's not fair, but your mom's human. I'd say that there's something else bothering her that she doesn't feel like she's allowed to complain about, or is something that she can't do anything about, and you just got caught in the crossfire. Um... being here only for 3,5 months, I have to ask: Is it the correct thread to post random thoughts which I feel don't deserve a separate topic? "Random stuff" in the thread's name implies as much...? Yep! In fact, random nonsense was what this thread series was founded on. It's just sort of become the unofficial de-facto forum socializing thread for a specific subset of Sharders by happenstance. If Trump becomes president I'll let you all live under my bed. There are only cats and monsters there anyway. Be careful. I might scare away the monsters. Kaymyth? I think we need to take a road trip. You, me, ThirdGen, and all the pro-Sanders picket signs we can carry. Eek. To...Texas? Are you sure that's safe? Yyyeah, umm... I oppose Sanders from the left. *snerk* That's more or less what I thought you'd say as soon as I saw Twi's post. Sanders isn't left enough for you.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Yyyeah, umm... I oppose Sanders from the left. But it's not about Sanders, not completely! It's about trolling! 1
Observer Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 As somebody who has a really poor grasp of politics in general, can somebody explain to me the appeal of Sanders? (Ignoring how close his name sounds to Sanderson, which is obviously an amazing reason that needs no explanation) For reference, literally all I know about Sanders is that he's fairly liberal, and apparently an open socialist. That's about it. *Should really pay more attention to this stuff*

That's about it. *Should really pay more attention to this stuff* There is some history for a lot of people, though this is a simplification and not applicable to everyone.Essentially, a lot of people are "against Establishment Politicians". What that actually means, few could tell you. But it means people want someone "outside of the machine". It's how Cruz got elected senator to begin with and why Trump is doing so well. Sanders is the left version of Trump. Some on the left felt that current democrats aren't liberal enough (I.e. Instead of universal healthcare, we ended up with the ACA). So they tried to get Elizabeth Warren to run, and when she didn't the germ of the Sanders movement was born. In a nutshell, people who support Trump and Sanders have a few common qualities: they are unhappy with the Establishment and want to radically change it. The difference is the direction of that change and what actually constitutes the Establishment.
Mistrunner Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 The candidate I support for president is Fred, one of the monsters under Morzathoth's bed. He's composed of old meatballs and stale chips. Campaign slogan: "I'm a villainous monster. Vote Fred." 3
Orlion Blight he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Neither of those are natural born citizens. In fact, I posit that their births were unnatural!
Silverblade5 he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I'm back! Just got home from a church retreat and had my first hot sauce challenge. I won!
Mistrunner Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Neither of those are natural born citizens. In fact, I posit that their births were unnatural!Fred is originally from America. He's named Fred. He just moved to Sweden for the healthcare (though he refuses to pay taxes). He also has a dimensional double who is currently living in America, fulfilling that other requirement. Kestrel she/her Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I was driving earlier and saw some Donald Trump signs, I almost ran them over with my car.
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I'm back! Just got home from a church retreat and had my first hot sauce challenge. I won! Whats that?
Kaymyth she/her Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Whats that? I'm assuming they challenged each other to who could handle the hottest sauce? ...really, there are no true winners in that scenario. 1
Zathoth Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 "Oh nintendo are releasing the first generation pokemon games for download on the 3DS, awesome. I should get pokemon yellow." *Costs twice as storming much as gameboy games usually do* "Wat" Ok, I kind of see why. They fixed the roms enough so you can trade and battle, which is great, I can accept it costing a little more than the usual gameboy games, not twice as much. That is just ridiculous.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 About to see Deadpool. 2
Silverblade5 he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I'm assuming they challenged each other to who could handle the hottest sauce? ...really, there are no true winners in that scenario. No, all we has was chilula, so instead we focused on quantity. It wasn't until later that we got a taste of the really hot stuff. Black mamba and Reaper. They weren't so bad at first, but grew hotter as time went on.

Zathoth Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Why not? It'll only get harder to humph about them as they grow in power. If not now then when? They may not lay eggs in your brain if you dont humph at them... they probably will anyway, so you are doomed either way, but maybe they will lay less eggs in your brain if you dont. Ok, humph away.
