After some discussion, Eol and I have decided to make a change to the lynch. The first person to vote for the lynched player (excluding retracted votes) will receive one of the lynched player's Aviar at random. (The others are lost.) If this would take them over the cap, the second vote will receive it instead. Vote changes from Influential are considered to come from the player whose vote was changed, and come after all unchanged votes.

TheMightyLopen - Link, doesn't say much

.........*nods*...... :P

So, if you use the "Hidden" ability, can people still steal your Aviar by guessing your code?

If your Aviar are stolen, are you told who stole them from you?

So, theoretically, what would happen if multiple votes were all changed to a certain target who didn't have any votes before, and that person got lynched? (Who would get the Aviar?)

So, if you use the "Hidden" ability, can people still steal your Aviar by guessing your code?

Yes. None of the roleblocks affect Aviar movement.

If your Aviar are stolen, are you told who stole them from you?

No; you arrive back at your shelter to find them gone.

In that case, it would be a random person out of those whose votes were changed.

Sorry to jump on so late. Karn is a mighty hunter obsessed with killing. People who know of him stay far away, and people who don't know about him don't last very long.

Hidden by the darkness of the early morning, a single iron-hulled boat steadily made its way into one of the more sheltered beaches of Amaji. The island, known as the Mother to those who still kept the old ways, was a three week voyage from the Eelakin Isles. Fourth of the Rain had made a similar journey many times in his life, but never before had it felt this long. Out of habit, he pulled some parchment out of his trouser pocket and, for the hundredth time in the last few weeks, stared blankly at the seal of the Northern Interests Trading Company. The parchment symbolised a great many things. The betrayal of his family, traditions of his people and his faith. The loss of his livelihood and Aviar. But what could not be overlooked was that it meant a way to survive in a changing world.

Rain had chosen Patji, the Father, when he was of age and skill to leave Sori and make his living as a trapper. Whilst there he had witnessed the expansion of the trading company and their strengthening foothold in the Pantheon. As the greed of the traders grew, fortifications were moved further and further into the dense forest of the Father and local trappers who found themselves in the way of progress were shown neither kindness or mercy. Safe houses, if found, would be destroyed. Aviar were seized, and killed if they proved too loyal. The trappers themselves were given the option of employment within the company, or safe passage to leave the island – and with their shielding aviar taken, it was little wonder that very few saw fit to brave the sea’s depths unprotected.

Placing the parchment safe back in his pocket, Rain turned his gaze to the other members of their party. Some were former trappers of Patji like himself; others, experienced scouts from the trading company, who had been around long enough to spot a deathant pod or avoid cutaway vines. All were capable of living isolated on the islands. The forests of the many islands in the Pantheon were deadly to the unknowledgeable or unwary, and even the most skilled trappers would find a swift death with one misstep. Even knowing this, Rain could not drag his mind away from the task they had been set, and mourned with the knowledge that the Mother would be soaked with faithful blood before the week was out.

As iron hull met the soft sand of the Mother’s shore, Rain paused briefly, half-heartedly asking for the Father’s forgiveness in this blasphemy, before promptly leaping the boats rail and made haste towards the safety of the tree line. Around him the others were doing the same. None wanted to be on ground level longer than absolutely necessary for fear of predators hunting by night. Against his better judgment, Rain turned at the edge of the tree line and watched as his one way off the island gradually faded back into the shadows. There would be no leaving this place until his job was done.

-----

Third of the Dawn crouched by the corpse. Only chunks of flesh remained, and there were scores - tooth marks - on the exposed bone. Tuskrun, probably; the marks were smaller than she assumed a nightmaw would make, and they didn't come out during the day anyway.

The notebook Dawn held named the trapper as Second of the Sun. Tuskrun were not too difficult to avoid, suggesting the corpse was inexperienced; a reminder of the island's dangers. The notebook said otherwise. Sun had been trapping Amaji for several decades; he would not have made such a mistake.

That meant she was late. Dawn had heard the silence of the jungle abruptly disturbed by voices. The sound had startled Jay, sending him fluttering off her shoulder - his wings were clipped, thankfully, else she could well have lost him. After collecting her Aviar, Dawn had hidden - a wise decision, as it turned out, because the brush in the direction of the voices had come alive shortly after.

Sun may have encountered a young trapper - one who did not respect the jungle's silence, and called out at their meeting - and then been brought down when the sound drew predators. Dawn doubted that. Even young trappers seemed to avoid speaking. No; more likely the traders had arrived, and had begun their work.

Dawn stood slowly, leaning against her staff rather than placing a hand on the ground. She regarded the corpse for another moment. "We need to find the other trappers." Jay chirruped in response as she moved away. She didn't know how to hide her trail, as the trappers seemed to do without thought. And for the moment, that served her needs nicely.

And the game begins. PMs are on their way.
EDIT: All PMs have been sent.

So unless anyone wants to do something really evil, I reckon the people who usually do the 'grand-plans' should start posting.

I probably won't be talking much at the beginning of any of the cycles considering it starts very early in the morning for me and I also have class every weekday morning. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up.

This game, I'm hoping to be a bit more active and analytical instead of dead, hopefully. I think it's critical that we get some sort of discussion going, so let's talk about the quick votes at the beginning of the cycle. Personally, doing that seems like a poor move for an eliminator to make. Why try to lynch immediately and draw suspicion? So, I'm putting Maill and Stink on my tentative villager list for now. It would be nice to have some sort of explanation behind Stink's vote on Adavantos, though. I don't really have a read on anyone else yet.

Current Analysis (I'll probably copy-paste this and update it throughout each cycle with activity and suspicions)

Ha, you thought I would put my code here, didn't you?

1   IrulelikeSTINK - Tentative Villager - active C1

2   Mailliw73 - Slight Suspicion - active C1

3   phattemer - No Read - active C1

4   Shallan - No Read - active C1

5   Kynedath - No Read - ?

6   TheSilverDragon - No Read - ?

7   Hellscythe - Slight Suspicion - active C1

8   Adavantos - No Read - active C1

9   Arraenae - No Read - active C1

10 polkinghornbd - No Read - ?

11 TheMightyLopen - No Read - active C1

12 Paranoid King -  No Read - active C1

13 Water - No Read - ?

14 Elbereth - No Read - ?

15 RippleGylf - Villager (not that anyone would actually take my word for it) - active C1

16 Clanky - No Read - active C1

17 Elkanah - No Read - ?

18 luckat - No Read -?

perilous

Key: Villager-->Eliminator

Can't use red, obviously.

levity

Also, with the code requirement, we need not worry about inactives.

That is true. I like that mechanic, because it means that not only do you have to be active, you have to be more active than normal to keep your code from being guessed.

Well, that being said, I guess I'll vote for water, because his feud with sodium is sure to do something bad for the avian economy.

Back up in the mix. Good to be back. This code word thing sounds..... ostentatious. #wink #giggle #wink give me your Aviar. It's for a good cause! I'm going to be voting for Arranae because hopefully she'll do something super suspicious and then I'll end up being the first vote on her wooooo!

Also Ripple are you trying to imply that your word is "perilous" :D with that spooky white text?

I just thought the same thing but I think it might be perilous to assume something like that.

It certainly could be, especially for your aviar.

If there is one thing I am certain about, is that I would not want to give my Aviar to Hellscythe.
