Partial Broadsheet

Recommended Posts

Looks like some special people got their grubby hands on The Bands of Mourning earlier, and they were foolish kind enough to post photos of the broadsheet that came with it on Twitter. They are far from perfect, of course, but we have a pretty clear quarter of the entire thing on one photo, and another that shows everything else but is unreadable except for the headlines.

Still, a treat.

Does anyone know of a way to take a picture of the broadsheets from an image online and blow it up to a newspaper size, but not degrade the image quality? I got the one from the Shadows of Self, but did not have a chance to get the first one, and I was hoping to collect them all, and frame them.

What you're asking for doesn't exist in an easy-to-do way. You can get someone to do a digital tracing of it as vector art for a nice way to scale it up, but that's probably a little more difficult than you were hoping for.

You could try sending an email to Ben McSweeney/Inkthinker (he's pretty active on Reddit) and ask him for a bigger resolution version. He made it, so it's probably the easiest way. There might be copyright issues, but it's definitely worth a try.

So, we have Nightblood, the dawn of speculative fiction, shady scientific experiments, and martial artist monks in Baz-Kor, a place that has a name unlike anything I remember from the Final Empire. Oh, and people hating on Elendel.

That sounds a lot like the Shard. We even have the addition of talking weapons.

Thank you for the help!

Who in the world writes those Allomancer Jak stories? We have an Investiture-powered gun, wielded by someone using epithets from Threnody, that appears to fire shades at people.

Hoid :P.

Also, I don't doubt Scadrial will become more aware of other worlds by the day. I fully expect them to discover the possibility of shardpool worldhopping before FTL travel if things stay as they are, and if they don't figure out how to do it themselves, build a wall around Harmony's shardpool and force worldhopping organizations to reveal themselves.

I believe it's actually Jak's Terrisman who transcribes them. :)

Well supposedly Jak writes them himself, Handerwym then writes footnotes making fun of Jak.  The question is though, whether Jak is actually real or if there's just some random person making all this stuff up.

...which would bring us back to Hoid. :P I'd love to see some tidbit in the books where it's mentioned that the editors have never seen Jak or anyone affiliated with him, but a mysterious man matching Hoid's description drops off manuscripts weekly or something.

Do these large sheets come with the hardcovers or is it some special bundle? I bought the SoS hardcover at his Denver signing, but I don't remember any broadsheets.

I've received the SoS broadsheet twice when I've ordered books from Brandon's website directly. If you want them but can't get to a signing, this is the best way to obtain one.

"Why do we need warships? The basin is alone on land and on the seas. From whom do we need protection from?"

-so ironic I feel sorry for them.

And I am curious which scientific discovery promises to bring them closer to finding out if harmony has a metal.

Interesting, I was just musing about the possibility that the SoScads, who we know are more technologically advanced, are gearing up to finally come and meet their beloved hero, The Lord Ruler, face-to-face. If that happens, I somehow doubt they will be thrilled to find a whole nation of people who celebrate his death as a wonderful event in history.
