Argent he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) I feel this is a poll much needed in our lives. Because while bowties are cool, they are clearly inferior to cravats. Edited December 9, 2015 by Argent 4
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Although I voted bowties, I believe Converse shoes are the coolest of all. 4
Kobold King he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Although I voted bowties, I believe Converse shoes are the coolest of all. I voted bow ties, but fezzes and mops are superior fashion accessories and should be donned at every opportunity. Stetsons are good too. 4
Zathoth Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 It depends a lot on the wearer. You need to be awesome in a crazy way to pull off bowties, you need to be Wax to pull off cravats, ties usually work for anyone, even if they are kind of pointless... this is a hard choice... So I guess the question ends up being "Who is cooler: Wax or 11?" ... yeah, ok, cravats, sorry Matt. 2
Elbereth she/her Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Before the cravat, life was ruff. No. 1
Curiosity he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I only know how to tie a bow tie, but not a normal tie or cravat.
Young Bard he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 First result on Google for 'bow tie or cravat' is this page. http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/news-features/tmg8504920/Bow-tie-or-Cravat.html Seriously... People actually think about... and get paid for thinking about... this stuff? What is this world? It can't be Earth. 3
Kobold King he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 So many of you disappoint... I know! There's a whole 18 people who haven't voted explicitly for "bowties"!
Left he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I've never had the opportunity to wear a cravat, so I don't know if I could pull one off or not. I know that I can do bowties great though, and ties are fine.
Argent he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Eh. Once cravats make a comeback, half of your will regret your misguided allegiance to bowties.
Mestiv he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Ice cubes are cool! I've never worn a bowtie or cravat, but I think all three can be cool if worn by the right person Also cravats always confuse me, because in Polish krawat means a tie so cravats sound just like a polish word that means the other thing worn around mans neck >.<
Edgedancer he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 So many of you disappoint... And I am disappointed that there is no scarf option. As such I shall cast my vote for the second best option of bowties. 5
tobar14 he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Ties: common / easy to look cool in / least cool Bowties: less common / less easy to look cool in / medium cool Cravats: rare / hard to look cool in / dope It's harder to look cool in a cravat, but if you can pull it off, do it. I prefer to not think too much about what I wear, so that's where ties come in necky
tobar14 he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 And I am disappointed that there is no scarf option. As such I shall cast my vote for the second best option of bowties. I think this a vote between all season neck-ware. If this were a winter accessory debate, scarfs would obvi be the winner.
Curiosity he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 It was a tricky choice. I decided to go with what I could tie. I would go with a cravat over a "normal" tie any day, though.
Argent he/him Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Cravat fandom is just apparently just quieter than bowtie fandom.
ThirdGen Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Meanwhile, the last-placers are looking to make this a three-way cravat. 2
Titan Arum Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Cravats in my opinion are too stuffy and remind me of the lace that hangs out the front of judges robes. Bowties, on the other hand, those are cool...at least to hipsters. Ties make me think of Wall Street. So, out of all of these (and they all clearly have flaws), if it's not the Notorious RBG, bowties win.
