My mom and dad both have a Facebook, but I tend to agree with most of the things they post, plus I haven't checked my Facebook in 4 months, so there's that.

Anyway, I came here with a purpose in mind:

Imagine Kaladin, while on his way from guard duty, seeing a girl, about 5 years old, getting beat up. He would put a stop to it, and the child, being scared of everyone else, hugging him. Imagine Kaladin being taken by surprise at this, but looking into the girl's eyes and being reminded of Tien, when times were brighter, and he had been happier.

Imagine Kaladin leading the child by the hand to his barracks, where he fed her soup and let her take his own cot.

Imagine her coming to guard duty with him. Adolin sees her and though tells Kaladin that he questions Kaladin's sanity, he admits to himself that she is an adorable little thing.

Imagine Shallan stumbling upon her outside of the dueling ring, while Kaladin practices. The child is drawing pictures in the sand with a stick, and being reminded of herself, when times were brighter, and she was happier.

Imagine all three of them becoming very protective of this child and the little girl was safe and grows up with Shallan as her tutor.

And everyone is happy.

The end.

That's too good to be true this is Sanderson there has to be a catch.

It's not Sanderson, it's me. :P

If you need a catch, she could become a radiant because of her broken past, she never completely gets over going without love for the first 5 years of her life, and/or she becomes an advocate for darkeyed rights and makes many enemies because of that.

Kaladin is accused of kidnapping, since the child was not orphaned. Using this to their political advantage, the enemies of Dalinar create discord when unity in the face of Desolation is needed.

As the Everstorm destroys Roshar, Kaladin realizes that he not only failed as a Knight Radiant, but had ultimately failed the girl as well. Everyone dies alone.

Odium laughs and Hoid still manages to get what he wanted from Roshar (a bacon sandwich)

Storm it, Orlion! Don't ruin this for me! :P

Also, accidental downvote, please fix.

Nothing stops kandra worldhoppers from being cute and mostly innocent. Mostly, since there is an inherent creepyness to kandra that I like.

And temporarily stopping Hoid so he finaly gives some straight answers may be a good idea for all we know.

You can't stop Hoid! He'll get his bacon sandwich even if he has to watch your world burn!

But what if the chibi Kandra already ate all the bacon?

Also  find it interesting how Harmony apparently set up a good relationship between Kaladin and Waldo. He's such a good match maker....

Well, he is finding Harmony between people

Impossible, the Lord Ruler made it the Kandra so they could not eat bacon, otherwise their loyalty to Him would not be absolute. :P

And Kaladin already has the Preservation and Ruin dynamic going on with his surgon/soldier stick. Brandon seems to like that trope.

And people say Rashek wasn't such a bad guy. <_<

Sacrifices had to be made and for some reason Preservation really didn't want to have the Kandras focus on eating ham.

Fixed. :)

Also, I had the same type of idea. Then I remembered that nothing good can come to Kaladin.

Still, one can dream.

To dream, the impossible dream...

Precisely.  Bacon meat isn't aged enough...

If this was FeatherWriter, I'd expect some ending where this girl ends up dying somehow while under Kaladin's responsibility, driving him to further depths of depression. But the story would be good all the same. She isn't the Fandom Monster for nothing. :P

But what if the girl is Renarin's daughter?
