Mistrunner Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Random Fact of the Day! All blue-eyed people are likely related, as blue eyes are believed to have been a genetic mutation occurring in one person a very long time ago and subsequently passed on to progeny. Previous to this, all people had brown eyes. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Kobold, did you ever end up finishing the card game you were designing? This, I mean : image.jpeg If you did, would you mind sharing it? Cuz it sounded storming awesome. Didn't think anyone would actually remember that. No, it's not finished. I've had a hard time figuring out exactly how to make it work in a card game format; if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear 'em.
Stormgate he/him Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 And it can look pretty cool when you see the whole face . . . That is awesome. No wonder they became the ruling class. 2
The Honor Spren she/her Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Random Fact of the Day! All blue-eyed people are likely related, as blue eyes are believed to have been a genetic mutation occurring in one person a very long time ago and subsequently passed on to progeny. Previous to this, all people had brown eyes. It was the shardblades. Though technically everyone is descended from Noah, so who knows! You could be my 42nd cousin, 16 times removed! 3

Kestrel she/her Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 With the new Star Wars, it is now time to avoid the internet until I get to see it on Monday.
The Honor Spren she/her Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 It's 8 days till Christmas. Yet the temperature high is 87°. Whyyyyyy.
Kaymyth she/her Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 The husband is on call this week, so no movies for us. We'll probably see it after the holiday madness is over (i.e. we both are taking Monday the 28th off and will likely see it then).
Orlion Blight he/him Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 With the new Star Wars, it is now time to avoid the internet until I get to see it on Monday. No kidding...kids these days, ruining movies on their internets and rock and roll! 1
Stormgate he/him Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 According to Chaos, the Shard should be safe, as he has in no unclear terms banned discussion of the new Star Wars outside of spoiler boards. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 My family is talking about going to see it sometime this week, but if we do, I solemnly swear to post nothing aside from "It was good" or "Not my favorite."

Guest Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Nobody spoil Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Road Chip either.Dang it ThirdGen, I didn't know that was the title! All I knew was that there was an Alvin movie.
Elbereth she/her Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 On this generation: I'm okay with it. After all, I have to live with it. I do think cell phones can be a problem, especially with how young people are getting them. You're in second grade! I'm twice your age and I don't have one! I can't see why you'd need one that young. And my biggest problem with this generation is its fixation on absolute safety. You have to wear a helmet to ride a scooter, elbow and knee pads to roller blade because otherwise you aren't safe. They closed off the train at Dennis the Menace Park (it's in Cali, and pretty darned fun) because some people sued for injuries. You can't climb trees or even climb up the five-foot tall slide at the playground. In fact, straight slides are too dangerous, so they install the twirly ones that don't work. You can't do anything remotely fun because it isn't safe. /rant That said, there's some pretty cool things done by this generation. Like the kid who built a Braille printer out of Legos and the girl who invented a phone battery that can charge in 30 seconds. This generation can be pretty darned innovative, and I'm rather proud of being a part of it. Regarding my generation: I'm mostly fine with it. In general, I identify more with adults, to be honest, but that's not so much disliking my generation as being generally above average in maturity level. And even that's become less of a problem now that I've moved to a private school.Regarding safety: I completely agree. I live in the same neighborhood where my dad grew up, and he knows the name of every family who used to live there, and all of their kids. I know exactly no one on our street. There's still a few places you can go, though, and now I feel unsafe in those places. There's a 30m drop into the ocean in Big Sur, without any railings or anything, at the end of a hiking trail. A giant rock high above the ocean. It's terrifying. And they closed the train at Dennis the Menace? How did I not know this??? I loved that train when I was little, though I haven't been there in several years. It was amazing! ...Anyway. The only other thing I don't like about my generation is its taste in music, in general. But there are also plenty of teens who love Broadway, or Classical, and such, just like there are some who love Lord of the Rings. I just don't know very many. 2
Zathoth Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I came out of the swedish equivalent of high school as a misanthrope, I think that says a lot of what I think of others my age XD Ive always managed to be an outsider, no matter where I am... seems to be genetic as my parents are the same way, which begs the question how in damnation we survived this long... And the words My Generation makes me instantly think of The Who, so I am old, on the inside. I dont know what it is but I dont see stubborn elders as much here, just two days ago I met an old woman at a bus stop and she asked me about electronics and such. Interesting cultural things... Relevant xkcd about jumping off bridges.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 If all of my friends suddenly started jumping off a cliff, I'd be looking around to see what's scaring them so badly that leaping off into certain death is a preferable alternative.Probably dinosaurs...Or laser sharks... Or burning crocodiles... Or giant lions... Or pugs at the bottom of the cliff. 4
