Collective Soul!

Please do.

Nice!

It'll be after work, since 1) I can't really put him in his Batpug outfit when he's not here :P and 2) Mollie doesn't have an outfit yet, and when she sees him in his Batpug costume, she gets really jealous.

Ah, boredom... I'll spend Halloween reading creepy pasta and listening to Black Sabbath.

Ok, less boredom...

Oh yes. Hello personifications of Honor, The Unsparkly one, and others.

The binder is smarter than me.

And they bite... ouch.

Speaking of biting, you know how people say things like "you can sit closer, they don't bite". Or just plain "she/he doesn't bite"

I always say "I bite"... evil smile

It is really funny to watch people's expressions after saying that. Especially if they don't know you... or if they believe you...

In my religion we say marriage is between a man and a woman (though being attracted to members of the same gender isn't a sin in and of itself), but there's been explicit statements from Church leadership that was required to be read in church meetings everywhere that basically said "We're not changing our stance on same-sex marriage, but it's still wrong to be mean to those who believe otherwise." It makes sense though. I mean, the first and great commandment is love thy neighbor as thyself, so hating on people just because they believe differently seems pretty silly. (Was that a tangent? I think it might've been a tangent. Please tell me if that was a tangent.)

And @Lark, I guess things are different around where you are versus where I've been. Clarinet has usually been stereotyped as a "girl" instrument around where I've lived, and I had a male friend who even switched to sax after he joined band and realized clarinet wasn't "manly" enough or something. It's annoying, really. Just pick an instrument you'd like to learn how to play. JUST DO IT! [/shia Labeouf]

I think I wound up picking flute because I had an aunt who was willing to lend me her instrument for a couple of years.

we have about a 100+ clarinets, so its a pretty big melting pot. It actually became the "throwaway" instrument honestly. All the people who don't fit into a stereotype just flocked to it.

The only bigger section is the trumpets but they all act the same.  that is so gross. I still don't understand people who bully based on identity, something you can't change. Those people sound like they need to grow up.

That is just so bizarre to me, since clarinet has the single screwiest fingering scheme of any instrument ever, and a super-sensitive embouchure.  "Hey, let's stick all the kids who aren't sure onto the thing that's hard to learn the notes on and squeaks like an epileptic rat!"

it's 8 minutes to the beginning of NaNoWriMo where I am. Anyone else taking part in the madness here? (I'm tempted to just count the words I'm using for my papers and thesis and projects...)

I'm doing it, though I'm not doing it right this year.  I'm using it as impetus to do my rewrite of my Mistborn fanfic novel so that I just get the rusted thing DONE.

No worries, I found you. :)

Found and added you both. :)

How so?

it always knows the perfect moment to unclasp so that papers are spilt all over me.

I have a noodle in my pocket and I don't know how it got there.

Maybe it was a mischievous spren! Maybe you're attracting an awkward spren! You should join, your spren could look like this:

My question is why this little spren doesn't currently rule all of Shadesmar.:wub:

My mother and I spent today mapping the Mane 6 from MLP to their fitting Hogwarts houses.

Twilight Sparkle couldn't be more Ravenclaw if she wore a blue raven on her head and spouted riddles wherever she went. At risk of stereotyping, her natural scholarly ways and drive to understand the universe--made most apparent in "Feeling Pinkie Keen"--make her classification as Ravenclaw a no-brainer.

Fluttershy was also an easy one to sort, since Helga Hufflepuff was essentially the Potterverse's version of Fluttershy to begin with. Hufflepuff is the house for the meek and kind, adjectives which result in the above picture of Flutter's face if searched for in the dictionary.

Honest without reservation, bold as a lion, proud to the point of boastfulness but never openly ambitious... Applejack seems the cast's best candidate for Gryffindor house.

Rarity is a lot trickier, but we ultimately sorted her as a Slytherin of the Horace Slughorn variety. While generous and a much better pony than most of the Slytherins we see in the series, her lifelong ambition of making connections and soaring into high society give her the most in common with Slytherin of all the houses.

^ This mare is a Slytherin. Openly boastful of her own superiority, driven along her life's path by her Wonderbolt ambitions... could there be any other place for her? But one of the softer and more fundamental traits of Slytherin house is a fierce loyalty and love towards a tight inner circle, and the Element of Loyalty has these things in spades.

Pinkamena Diane Pie, as usual, defies convention and takes up an entire class of her own. It's easy to imagine the Sorting Hat sitting upon her head, trembling for a long while as it senses the whimsy and phenomenal amount of sugar within, before finally bursting comically into flame until put out by the fire extinguisher the pink party pony inexplicably smuggled into the castle in her poofy mane.

That said, we believe that the Sorting Hat, once extinguished, would cough and proclaim Pinkie to be Hufflepuff. Throughout MLP, Pinkie shows little regard for her own desires. All she wants out of life is to put smiles on the faces of everypony she encounters. In "Pinkie Pride" this is most apparent, as she willingly puts aside all of her own desires solely out of a desire to make Rainbow happy on her special day.

Pinkie is the long-awaited burst of color for Hufflepuff house.
