Does animals have a cognitive 'part' and a spiritual 'part', or only cognitive creatures have them?

Can someone pass from the cognitive realm to the physical or vice versa without a perpendicularity?

to your second question, the answer is definitely yes.  we see Shallan do something like it early on, and it is implied to be possible to those with the surge of Transportation at a minimum.

to your first question, even inanimate objects have a cognitive part.  all the glass beads in shadesmar are the cognitive represntation of various things in the physical realm.  not sure what an animal in the physical realm looks liek form the cognitive realm though.

Oathbringer Spoilers:

Spoiler

A perfect gemstone like the one we see in Oathbringer, that doesn't leak Stormlight... if it already has a spren or unmade trapped in it, can it still hold Stormlight?

And could you trap two of the same spren, such as two flamespren in the same gemstone?

Part question, part just want to see it.

Identical twins on Roshar.  It is well known that in usual developement twins develop their own distinct personalities  When discussing Radiance, would identical twins be more likely to end up in the same order?  How would spren view it if they ended up in different orders?

Two questions after I finished rereading Oathbringer. I’m too lazy to read through all the questions before this so sorry if they are repeats

Spoiler

1 - Lightweaving - what are the limitations on how you can manipulate light? Like, could you lightweave a mirror and use it to look around corners? Or could you lightweave a type of lens so you can see further? Could you make a polarizing lens? Could you make like a really bright sphere to temporarily blind someone? Would making things like this cost more stormlight?

2 - The gemstones that hold stormlight indefinitely - how are they made and how are they distinct from normal gemstones? Is it just how they are cut? From a materials standpoint a “perfect” gemstone is really hard to make, and the lattice structure will never actually be perfect except at absolute zero.

Would Allomantic Tin grant you any enhanced visibility in a Highstorm?

By which I mean similar to enhanced sight in the mists, rather than just the boost tin gives you by itself.

Also, would an Allomantic Language Medallion allow you to listen to a film/radio broadcast in a foreign language without the need for subtitles?

Can Atium mistings burn Malatium?
Can Gold mistings burn Malatium?

So far we have never seen a non-Mistborn burn an Atium alloy.
If Gold mistings can burn Malatium any misting could theoretically burn god alloys of their metal.
If Atium mistings can burn Malatium any god metal misting could burn all of that god metal's alloys.

No and no. A misting, by definition, can only burn one metal.

Do we have proof of this? God metals might be kind of weird.

Can a Misting burn the god-metal alloys of their metal? If not, do the god-metals even 'exist' if there are no full Mistborn?

Brandon Sanderson

There are metals which exist that any Allomancer can burn, regardless of their own orientation.

Specifically lerasium and its alloys

This doesn't hold true for Atium or it's alloys though. Presumably it doesn't necessarily have to hold true for another god metal, although we can't know for sure. That tells us nothing about the ones that can not be burned by anyone.

Your quote specifically supports that God alloys do not play by the standard rules. The quote specifically hints that it may be possible.

Oathbringer spoilers

Spoiler

Is Hoid afraid of Odium, and is that why he takes a far more active role in Oathbringer then in the previous books?

Did he become a Lightweaver after Oathbringer? (all signs say yes, but I want to be sure)

Also, could Kelsier become a Knight Radiant, and if yes what order would he be in?

(actually, I think the answer is "No; Dustbringer/Willshaper)

The shards that resulted from the shattering; were they determined by people’s perceptions of Adonalsium?

Quote

Eric

If Adonalsium Shattered with intent, would he always Shatter with the same Shards?

Brandon Sanderson

It is plausible that it could've gone a different way.

Eric

So it could've been different Shards?

Brandon Sanderson

Yes, that's plausible.

Not quite what you were looking for, but this WoB is relevant

What is Endowment's opinion on Harmony? Because we learn in Oathbringer that:

Spoiler

She believes that "No good can come of two Shards settling in one location." Given that Harmony can technically count as one Shard now, would he be an exception to that opinion?

As an aside, we know that Odium doesn't take up other Shards because he chooses not to. If given the opportunity, would Endowment be willing to pick up a second Shard, and if yes, which would she be most tempted by?

That sucks. Here we have a go-to pain "medication" with no side effects and it doesn't work on the most commonplace pain in the world. :/

Probably because healing like that works based on perception and acceptance of wounds and yourself... Shallan sees her cycle as a part of life and so Stormlight does nothing for it.

If one were to store all of their connection in a duralumin mind would aging be slowed?

If you were to tap an atium mind to reduce your age while your connection was reduced would the age reduction hold more effectively than The Lord Ruler method?
