At this point, I don't think there is an eliminator worldsinger. As of right now my suspicions on Raven have gone down slightly since earlier this cycle but not enough to think about saving her. Really, I'm not convinced that any of the top 3 targets are eliminators so I'm gonna let happen whatever's gonna happen.

Night 4: Broken Shards

None of the lighteyes wanted to see Dalinar’s reaction to their recent… mistakes.  Three more loyal nobles lay dead since yesterday morning, and with the Blackthorn’s warning, that could only mean a highstorm in the form of a man would be coming their way.

“What do we do?” Resha exclaimed frantically.  “If we don’t do something soon, Dalinar’s sure to kill us all!”

“Oh, I don’t think he’d go that far,” Mortago said, though he seemed to be trying to convince himself more than anything else.

“I say that we do something that’ll cheer him up,” Kipper smiled.  “I think we should get one of those conspirators executed for him!”

“Yes, because that worked out so well last time,” Resha remarked.

“It didn’t work, because you’re one of them!” Kipper smiled, putting it together.

“I agree,” said Klanal and a few others, nodding.

Cleo did not seem so sure.  “Wait, we’re just going to kill off Resha, for pretty much no reason?  Isn’t that what happened yesterday?  We need to stop behaving like a mob and act like individuals!”  Two logicspren, like angry stormclouds, gathered around her for a moment, then floated away.

“Well, on that train of thought, I believe that Mortago should be brought forth,” Wannan said.  “Brightness Katara contacted me before she died, saying that she suspected him for his silence.”

“Fat lot of proof there is on that,” Mortago frowned.  “I think you’re just trying to deflect the suspicion onto me.”

“Well, yes, that’s basically what I just said,” Wannan sighed.

“Enough of this,” Kipper intervened.  “Who is the conspirator?”

“How do we know for certain?” Resha cried out.  “This is madness!  If we fail, Dalinar’s going to come crashing down on us for sure!”

“Let’s not panic yet,” Draela said, trying to calm down the hostile environment.  “Wannan has some good points about Mortago, especially if they were to come from Katara herself.”

Sheon Idris snorted.  “I don’t know, this supposed message sounds a little far-fetched to me.”

“Whatever,” Kipper said.  “Personally, I’ve made up my mind.  I say that we lynch Re-- where’d she go?

-----

Resha slipped the last piece of her shardplate into place.  That mob was crazy!  If she were to survive the next several days -- no, hours -- against them, she’d need protection.  Lucky for her that she happened to come across some Plate the night before these shenanigans began.

“There she is!” Rengar, the crazed executioner shouted, pointing at Resha.  Knew it, she thought to herself, taking off at a run.  With shardplate on, it would enhance her physical abilities, making her run faster, jump higher, and --

Resha tripped and fell to the crem-laden ground.  What?  Resha took a look at her shardplate, and realized that the gems barely had stormlight flickering in them.  Great, just great.  The Plate began to tighten up on her, constricting her movements.

Rengar (who appeared to have dark eyes… what was that about?) and the lighteyes came upon Resha.  The muscular executioner seized her wrist, hauling her into the air.

“Forgot there wasn’t going to be a highstorm until tomorrow?” Rengar asked, his breath foul.  “What a shame.  Also a shame that you have to die with such magnificent Plate.  Perhaps Dalinar shall reward that to me, for finding such a traitor!”

As the man cackled, Resha brought out a number of spheres from her safepouch.  Would they work?  They all appeared to have a bit of stormlight still in them.

“Give me that!” Rengar shouted, swiping the spheres out of her freehand.  “Don’t think you can fool me, Brightness.  I’ve seen men willing to bribe their way out of any situation back before I was a bridgeman.  You’d be wise to not pull such a trick on me.”

Okay, that wasn’t what I had in mind, Resha thought.  I just need a little more strength!  Resha swung her fist, and the Plate lazily complied, connecting with Rengar’s face… before shattering into pieces.

Rengar roared, swinging his gigantic sword and shattering the Plate’s greaves as well.  Resha smiled, realizing that she was now more free to move her legs.  “Thanks!” she shouted, running away.

“What?” Rengar screamed, but it was too late.  “Bah, she’ll come back later.  I’ll get her then.”

Suddenly a shadow loomed over the gathered lighteyes.

“So you… you’ve brought me broken shards,” the Blackthorn said flatly.

Vote Tally
Resha (3): Kipper, Caesarae, Klanal
Wannan (2): Sheon Idris, Mortago
Mortago (2): Draela Heb, Wannan
Arilir (1): Efrihm
Vin Elendel (1): Arilir

Resha was a Shardbearer!

Night 4 has begun!  The turn will end in 23 hours and 10 minutes.  Good luck!

...You know, I thought someone was going to suggest I knew I would survive the lynch, considering I barely bothered trying to defend myself.

Beyond that, I'll be getting off soon, and probably won't be on much to post my thoughts this cycle. I know this didn't help much, but it also means that the con-artists won't have a role this cycle. It does prevent a villager con-artist, but it also protects the village against an eliminator con-artist.

Dang it. That's somewhat disheartening. I'm assuming she was on team village, although I do not see a color?

And why do I stormin' always get the jerk role in the writeups?! I'm beginning to seriously consider the possibility of a conspiracy! :P

Alright, next up to the plate. I have three major suspicions (down from five (!), so we're doing good. I'll reveal at least one of them during the day, unless I die, in which case my secret, unfailing, oh-so-cool, awesome dead-man switch will activate with a mighty roar, spilling all my information out into the world. Until then, I'll just sit back and comment on plans and such. My calc class resumes tomorrow, so I won't have as much time as usual, but I will be on.

Ardent(s), I would appreciate it if you Scan me, and then grace me with either your contact or a highly regarded friend's contact.

If you Scanned someone in Cycle One or later that is alive currently, and subsequent to that Scanned someone who is now dead, you should be able to figure out whether you are corrupted or not.

Lastly, Raven, I'm somewhat, if not entirely, sorry. I should picked up on your cues in the PM, but usually when someone contacts me to tell me not to lynch them, I have the opposite reaction. Also, I truly did believe you to be an Eliminator. So...yeah, as the teenagers say.

Wait, frikkin Shardbearers don't stormin' get killed by lynches?!?!?!?!?!?!

Here's some RP.

Kipper stared at his screen, realizing that he was ninja'd. He read the post. Then the rage took him.

So does this mean that you don't suspect Raven anymore? Personally, I'd have guessed that the eliminators have a higher shard-to-person ratio than the village not including Kipper so this would seem to be evidence for the pro double-lynch(is that a term?) side. Of course, maybe we want a different target so that we can get different discussion. I'm not entirely sure why Hero is so sure about Smart Guy since I just skimmed his post, but I promise that this time I will really go reread it.

Here's some RP.

Shallan stared at her screen, realizing that she was ninja'd TWICE. She read the post. Then the rage took her.

Because you never stated anything about your character for RP purposes. :P You could always request your character to act more like this in write-ups, though.

Oh, I totally suspect Raven still. That was just the necessary self-deprecating apology that I write out. Whenever I write those things, I never really mean it, because usually, I don't want to believe that I'm wrong. I still think Mailliw was secretly evil, and Raven is still quite high on my suspect list. Basically, it would be best if the Assassin killed her, because then we don't have to do a lynch without discussion tomorrow.

...grrrrrrwhycan'tyoujustdiealready?????? This is making me seriously annoyed. I hate it when people unexpectedly remain alive. It ruins the beautiful patterns.

This is a completely random thought, but sometime I want to either change my username to Pattern, or play an SE game as Pattern, just so I can quote people's posts and say, "mmmmmm, lies. Such delicious lies." That is all.

Kipper, I know you're trying to tell us something with this, but I'm just not sure what it means! I'm guessing it means "I'm an eliminator but you'll never figure this code out, mwahahaha!" or something like that. You wanted everyone to think you hit random keys in frustration but in reality you were trolling us ALL!............I'm definitely right, right?  :P

Anyways, now that we know............................ no more than when the cycle ended what should we discuss? I'm not sure what to think about the Hero and Sart arguments because on one hand nothing Hero has said has really stuck out to me as being suspicious, so I don't think he's lying about the PM's with Wilson, and with Sart knowing Wilson's role he seems kinda suspicious to me. But on the other hand, Sart did vote for Ripple so there's that in his favor, also Hero could be lying about the PM's. So right now most of the evidence against Sart is in Pm's that I can't be sure exist.

Now, about Raven. As it seems like the assassin might kill you tonight, I'm hoping that(if you're innocent) you can post as much of your thoughts and info as possible(or send it to people you trust or believe to be innocent). Of course I'm hoping that if the assassin does kill you tonight you turn out to be an eliminator. So if you are an eliminator, my advice to you is to ACTUALLY DIE this time.  :D

Yes....I was definitely trolling you. Because, I mean, that TOTALLY looks like a real code, with its clear groupings where I switched keyboards on my tablet with my random punchings. But the great thing us, someone is probably trying to figure that out now. Winter's, that looks like a code. A code that shall go untouched by myself, unfortunately, because I hate codes, but a code nonetheless. Mine is just what it appears to be: random punchings.

If we assume there is a single Eliminator courier, using codes in PMs is probably the smartest option. I'm putting out two examples to test whether they can stand up to close scrutiny.

8.1.10.16.10.36.30.12!.50.26!.46.30.

40.16.14.18.36!.4.30.20!.50.26!.30.8!.40.30.28!.8.18.8!.18!.38.18.16.40!.8.1.10.36!.28.1.6!.42.30.50!.12.18.

Posted

Why?! Why do you have to make the game so much more complicated?! What did we do to deserve this?!

Posted

Kipper, weren't you the one that suggested codes in the first place?

But........yeah, there is no way I could actually figure out a real code. I just don't have that kind of patience(I'm too lazy  ;) ).

Posted

My codes aren't even codes, really. They could be anything, as in

Con Artist = horsebatterystaple

All you have to do is match, not solve.

I hate Nights, because I feel compelled to respond to inanity. No more. I'm leaving.

Posted (edited)

I think I should post something relevant to the game instead of just an insanity post so here is something I was thinking about earlier. In the rules about the conspirator kill, it says that "one conspirator may forego their night action to place a kill on someone", that's not a perfect quote but whatever. So I was thinking, maybe the conspirators are making a brightlord(or lady) place the kill, so that they can still use their more useful roles. I just thought I'd bring that up as it could possibly effect the game later on. Like if they only had a courier and a con artist left, and the con artist got a pretty good role(like guardsman or assassin), the courier would have to place the vote and therefore would not be able to spy on PM's.

Anyways, on to the insanity part of my post.

Winter, if you ate someone's real hands shouldn't you allow them to at least keep their phantom ones? It seems cruel to eat both pairs.

The Courier would have to place the vote? That doesn't make sense, you mean the kill? They would have to forego their night action and PMs are only for the day.

-

PHANTOM HANDS. ARE ALL MINE.

Couriers submit their actions of who to spy on during the night phase, so his example works.

Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing for sure the eliminator roles until after we've killed them, so there's not much we can do about it one way or the other.

And now for some RP from me, just because everyone else is doing it.

Herowannabe turned on the TV and was shocked to see on the news report. "Two major metropolitan eras had been completely destroyed in what officials are calling the greatest act of Terrorism this decade," the reporter was saying. "In each case the destruction was caused by a lone individual, though officials believe that the incidents are not directly related. We go now to an interview with citizen Sandon Branderson, who was an eye witness to the Tri-State destruction."

"MY HANDS! SHE ATE MY HANDS! WHY!?!?!?"

"Disturbing news, indeed. Officials say that both culprits are still at large, and encourage everyone to be on the lookout for individuals with keyboard-shaped bruising on their foreheads, but not to engage them personally. Back to you, Tom."

"Huh," Herowannabe said, then went back to eating his Cheerios.

I didn't even say "insanity...."

Oh. I knew that inanity was a word. I really did.

But at this point it works either way. Considering how........hmmmm......how should I put it, completely pointless most of the posts have been this cycle, I'm really looking forward to see what Ren is going to put in the write-up. It might get a little graphic, what with all the phantom hand devouring(not to mention the real ones).  :P

Alright, time to ask why...

Sees the derailment of the thread.

https://youtu.be/npjOSLCR2hE?t=5m7s

Seriously though, why were there only 10 votes? We have 23 players alive in this game. We need them to contribute! If the eliminators are pretending to be inactive, then we have to waste lynches searching for them among people who haven't even voted. If they are being active, they can just suggest we need to look at the inactives. It's loose loose for the village. If you're on, vote, state your opinion, don't just read the thread and leave.
