I am a poor college student who should be saving money for textbooks. But instead I have an urge to blow like 20 bucks on either some e-books (maybe Sanderson, maybe others), a Scott Sterling t-shirt, a Pun Diddley t-shirt, or an Agents of Shield t-shirt. None of which things I'd get to use much at college anyway because studying and class dress codes. *random announcement over*

Oh and also my hold on Words of Radiance came in at the library so YAY.

I don't think a lot of people know of Brandon Sanderson in my hometown. When I went to the library all three copies of WoR were still there and looked completely untouched. Plus I'm nearly positive that no one at my school has read any of his books. This makes me sad because I have no one to talk to about the books

The only people I know who read the books (aside from my mom) are my mom's friend's husbands. <_< *sigh* its hard to be me.

Sanderson has always been moderately popular in my city, and there are a number of people nearby who like his works....but I don't know any of them personally. I've tried to get my siblings to read more than just Reckoners and Alcatraz, but they're just barely interested.

I think I will start on Discworld. I already have The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic on hold. Are those the best ones to start with, or should I get something else?

They're okay.....Basically no one is going to recommend those to you as your first Discworld books though. I recommend Mort, Guards! Guards!, or possibly Going Postal. NavyBrandt made a very nice chart that shows the order of each of the subseries, although they can be read completely out of order, and there is no order in which you should read the subseries in relationship to each other.

Just saw The Man from U.N.C.L.E

I might be developing a crush on Henry Cavill. This film furthers my opinion that he is an awesome Superman, who was hampered by a weak script/direction.

The comments of Comicvine's D23: Civil War & Dr Strange article has guys man crushing over who's hotter: Chis Hemsworth. Chris Evans or Henry Cavill

School.

Why do you do this to me?

Why?

Why? What did school do to you?

*long drone about the problems with the school system, and the reasons everyone should homeschool*

I feel ya.

I would never be able to homeschool. Too many problems at home. Public school is bad but honestly I'd rather take it than homeschool.

Just found out the next rank for my reputation will be "Prime".

Now I just need to decide which Autobot to use for the picture. Optimus? Rodimus? Sentinel?

Conversation from yesterday:

"We've got one more day of this heat wave, and then the weather gets interesting."

"Define 'interesting.'"

"'Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die?'"

Hobbits are lovable.

So are pugs.

Hobbits love food and place great importance on mealtimes.

Pugs do that too.

Like hobbits, pugs are warm, friendly, social creatures who are often underestimated.

Hobbits are the pugs of Middle-Earth.

Sauron was defeated, and Middle-Earth saved, by two pugs.

I should do something productive. Its the last week before school starts. And band camp is only two hours or so. I have no excuse for not getting things done. Oops.

It's too hot

I suffer every time I step away from my fan

Why am I suffering so?

I'm... I'm dying

Oh sweet Celestia I'm dying

I'm sweating and I'm baking and I shouldn't have eaten all those honey-roasted peanuts

I feel sick

Now I'm dying

Ugh...

Here it comes...

The icy cold abyss...

It will be a mercy after this heat...

Here I go...

Tell Twi... that I'll always love... that picture of Mollie with the dollar bills.

It's so cute.

Here I go...

Wait nevermind. I've got my fan back. This feels nice.

Before I go outside to do some chores:

WoR spoilers.

Like, BIG spoilers.

Seriously.

Zahel is a grouchy old swordsmen with eyes Kaladin describes as "ancient."

He senses Syl in his interlude, making him only one of three people capable of detecting her when she doesn't want to be seen.

At the end of his interlude he expects to hear a voice in his head as he drifts off to sleep. But, as his narrative notes, there hasn't been one "for years."

Brandon Sanderson has confirmed that Zahel...

...is Vasher. :ph34r::D

My personal favorite is Zahel's use of "one of those storms, Invested to the hilt." But the funniest part is him saying "you don't want to make me eat the wrong flower" and stuff like that. I've always loved the metaphors. His Interlude was pretty heartwrenching at the end, though.

How hot are we talking here? Is it super humid?
