Sunbird she/her Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 "Turning Away" as performed by the band Celtic Thunder.
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 YOU ALL NEED TO LISTEN TO JON BELLION'S SONGS!!! They are storming amazing
marsoupial they/them Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Ok, there's this band called Dawes. They're sort of indie/rock/folk/alt. They're my favorite band of all time. Anyone know of them? If not, listen to them.

Oversleep Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) A trailer for a film reminded me of this and now I can't stop listening to it over and over again: Spoiler EDIT: Since my dad has a (really old) mixtape, now I'm not listening to one song over and over. I listen to a bunch of songs over and over. Every single one is great. Edited September 12, 2016 by Oversleep 1

I know those are old posts, but I just did a search for Christmas in this thread, and I'm loving that album so far! Any other Christmas albums anyone is listening to, or other holidays? I have Adam Sandler's Hanukah Song, but not really any serious songs for other holidays. jW
Sunbird she/her Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 @Jondesu I am one of those weirdos who listens to Christmas music sporadically all year round, so I have some definite favorites. "A Family Christmas" album by the Piano Guys "The Christmas Rush" song by Mike Tompkins "That's Christmas to Me" and "PTX-Mas" albums by Pentatonix And of course "Wizards in Winter" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and their rendition of "Carol of the Bells." 1

Don't have a clue what they're saying, but damnation is it good! YES. Jónsi, their lead singer, did the music for the movie We Bought A Zoo. I haven't heard the rest of their stuff, but that is one of my favorite scores of all time, and my uncle is a huge fan, so more likely that not I'll be looking into them at some point soon. They just sing sounds that sound like words but have no actual meaning. So depending on the song you're listening to, chances are, no one has a clue what they're saying. It's called Hopelandic. As for what I'm listening to right now, while I'm writing I either will turn on Classical 89 (the local classical station) or Of Monsters And Men. Edited September 25, 2016 by Slowswift Grammar!
Mistbornwithakitty she/her Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 I'm always listening to something! XD My tastes lately have been lots of Christina Perri and Shawn Mendes. Also, a large dosage of show tunes (but that's nothing new. lol).
marsoupial they/them Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Dawes, some related artists, and whoever happens to be in the weather section of WNTV.
mattig89ch he/him Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Just picked up Swing Style, Vol. 3 off amazon. And its really good. I do find myself liking Electro Swing more and more. Only trouble is, most of the time, I get bored of it rather easily. So 3 weeks later, I'm done with the album. Even still, every once in a while, a few songs keep me coming back. Bright Lights and Late Nights by the Speakeasies, Shoot Him Down (Parov Stelar Radio Version), Is That Too Much to Ask? (feat. Nina Zeitlin), being just a couple of examples.
Zathoth Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Oxbow - 1000 So gritty, dirty, noisy... I love it.
marsoupial they/them Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Indie band from New Jersey called Real Estate. Very chill. They're gonna be in Knoxville (about an hour away from me) tomorrow, and I wish I could go but that requires money
Andarist he/him Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Mozart's music of the night. Classical music is still my go-to for reading or working. 1
Sunbird she/her Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I've been obsessed with this epic electric guitar cover of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" (third movement) today: 2

Zathoth Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 The Doors - Light My Fire It took me way too long to start listening to them...
Hood he/him Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Listening to 'Is This it' by The Strokes for maybe 50th time. It has become my favourite album ever. Favourite Track - Hard to Explain (second best); Someday; Barely Legal (best one); Soma; Take it, or Leave it; When It Started (don't have the NYC cops one); Is This It (nice opening track) Okay-ish one - Alone, Together; Last Nite
marsoupial they/them Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Hadestown. The 2010 concept album, not the Off-Broadway EP.
Sunbird she/her Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran. I love me some classic rock.
Quiver he/him Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Great show, great singer, great song. (Sung by Shirley Manson, with the composer being Bear McCreary, for the curious.)
The Invested Beard Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Fair to Midland - Arrows and Anchors.
Oversleep Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I've made a playlist from Transistor OST (mainly composing of the tracks with vocal) and it's awesome.
