The Invested Beard Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Fantomas - The directors cut Insane avant garde covers of film scores. Anything Mike Patton does is great. Do you like Mr. Bungle?
Zathoth Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Anything Mike Patton does is great. Do you like Mr. Bungle? Im not a huge fan of him, he is very hit or miss for me. Eiither he is great or he is... just too much "bouncy 90s metal" for my tastes. But yes, I like Mr Bungle, not a big fan of Faith No More though.
The Invested Beard Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 His work with Dillinger Escape Plan was pretty good also.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Iiiiiii-I-I... have become... Comfortably Numb *air guitar solo* 1
Dunkum he/him Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) Fantomas - The directors cut Insane avant garde covers of film scores. I have a friend who looks like a younger version of inspector Juve from that movie (especially the moustache). we've added it to the pile of evidence that he is in fact a time traveler. currently listening to a track called "Vader's redemption: The Imperial March in a Major Key" it's interesting link for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9MShtCg4fk Edited February 26, 2016 by Dunkum

But yes, I like Mr Bungle, not a big fan of Faith No More though. You've got to listen to more Faith No More of you're thinking that they're bouncy 90s metal. While not nearly as odd as Mr Bungle, they are really eclectic. Fur example, check out this Butter Bacharach cover: https://youtu.be/8sSw-vQUst0
Sunbird she/her Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 "No More Lies" by Iron Maiden. I like to think that Bruce is singing "Mince meat pies!" Instead of "No more lies!"
The Invested Beard Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Lots of Beatles. My brother and I are working on a two man band recording session of Beatles songs. Probably going to call it "Two of Us". Trying to find the best songs that would translate into minimal instrumentation arrangements is an interesting task.
Sunbird she/her Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 An album by the group Celtic Thunder titled "The Light of Other Days." They've got some awesome accordion riffs that are really fun to listen to.
Jondesu he/him Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I've got "Love Alone Is Worth the Fight" from Switchfoot's latest album stuck in my head right now, though I'm not technically listening to it at the moment. Good stuff (and a message I know I need to hear, even though I want to just give up or give in). jW 1

I'm listening to an a cappella cover of Maurice Ravel's "Bolero" by the group InsideOut. 1

Ookla the Absent Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 The music from the game my roommates are playing...
azninvasion99 he/him Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Been listening to a lot of Iron Maiden (because that new tour setlist is EVERYTHING). But my biggest kick lately has been Porcupine Tree. Best way I could describe them is a modern combination of Pink Floyd and King Crimson, just fantastic stuff if you like that kind of music. 2
BreathTaker he/him Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 "Irish Pub Song" by The High Kings. Beautiful song, I thought you were talking about The Rumjacks: Irish Pub Song. But I love this song.I'm also listening to it.

The Invested Beard Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Porcupine Tree is excellent. Yeah Steven Wilson's solo stuff is killer as well.
azninvasion99 he/him Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Yeah Steven Wilson's solo stuff is killer as well. It really is, I just dove into his last two solo albums a couple weeks ago and they are just as good. Ancestral is a masterpiece imo.

Out of curiosity, have you listened to much Riverside? They are similar in many ways and you'd probably dig them as well. Especially their latest. Called Love, Fear, and the Time Machine.
