Also, love the human Puddle, he's very welcome in Salem, though that doesn't have to be permanent if you don't want it to be.

More Oregonian pickup lines:
You must be a runner because chasing after you has taken my breath away.
Is that a hand grenade? Because you've blown me away. Don't worry though. I regenerate. *Creeptastic wink*
You have such a killer smile I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. But I'll be back in 5 minutes after I've finished talking to my god.

I just had a weird idea for an Epic. The exact opposite of Firefight--an Epic who can project images of himself into other dimensions. Coupled with an ability to slow down time to allow himself time to think, this man can summon entire councils of his interdimensional doppelgangers, including one who has somehow become the emperor of his reality, to give him advice during problematic situations.

For added lolz, the version who exists in the Oregonverse is a vanilla, who's still not sure why astral projections of Epic versions of himself keep popping up to dispense their valued wisdom to him. He is still not 100% certain that he's not a schizophrenic.

I'm thinking of calling him either "Synod" or "Think Tank." Thoughts?

I don't see why not, if I wind up adding this fellow in somewhere. Wanna call dibs on the version of him that's the emperor of his reality?

Thinking about Firefight,

I've often wondered about alternate male Firefight's weakness.  If Megan's weakness if fire, and her power is to pull things from other dimensions, and Male Firefight's power is fire, his weakness would be... other versions of himself?  Perhaps in that dimension epics have no weaknesses.

Maybe mirrorverse Firefight's weakness is being told he could be better/nicer/more capable (take your pick)? So not necessarily other versions of himself, but rather, what he should be/could have been? Kind of like Miles Hundredlives and his Auger-ness?

Megan did say she's had experiences that made her think rules were different in her male double's world, though I can only begin to guess what that means. Maybe Epics are a mix of good and bad, or all good, in his world. Or maybe it's just a Mirrorverse where his weakness is water and Steelheart is a woman whose powers invert his.

Sure.

I love this idea. I also like Joe's idea and may request to also be able to write for one of the projections.

If there are multiple people interested in this guy, I'd be happy to put together a profile for him. Any ideas on which thread a guy like this should go on, theoretically?

There aren't many Vanilla positions in Salem other than lion fodder or member of Deathwish's dream harem but he could be the bartender at the champions inn or an announcer for the arena.

The idea of this guy being a bartender is cracking me up.

"Okay, any of you guys know how to mix a daiquiri?"

"TEAR OUT THEIR HEARTS AND MAKE BEVERAGES OF THEIR BLOOD."

"Nobody asked you, Lord Supernal of the Eridanus Marches."

Well it would be consistent with Soulcasters personality to keep someone amusing like that around, the whole reason he started the arena other than to keep Epic fights in a contained setting was out of boredom.

I like to imagine that half the patrons moaning at the bar are his projections.

"I lost my girlfriend today."

"Don't care, I only pretend to listen to people who can actually pay for drinks."

Is one of them from a universe where Nighthound is dead?

"Nighthound? Oh yeah I remember that guy, we killed him the day he became an Epic, turns out that without him around most Epics were happy to just sit around drinking and celebrating."

After he evaporates he can use the water in the atmosphere to create copies of himself. Or he can just reform his body right where he became a puddle in the first place.

Wait, you don't mean creating multiple doubles from his puddle, do you? Because then we would be right back to Mitosis' unique power.

So, you want to write an Epic from another dimension. Sure, go for it. :P

New thread started, Oregon Easter Eggs, aka An Attempt to Compile and Explain our Inside Jokes to New Members. If you think of anything that should go in that thread, or a better title, feel free to suggest or add it.

Does the list include shipping, ponies and pugs?

I like the idea, maybe we can add the ponies to a post there too? Perhaps with a bit of an explanation of them for newer members.

If those things aren't on a list of Oregon RP quirks, then I don't know what's gone wrong with the world. :P

Definitely. I left the thread unlocked, so if you think of anything that should be in it, feel free to add it.

I am thinking of introducing a set of twins in Salem. They do not have identical powers. One is a boy and one is a girl. I guess they should be hunting my Epic. What do you guys think?

Salem is currently the Reckoners RPG's equivalent of the French Foreign Legion: We turn no character(s) down. Write your heart out, buddy.

I decided to make Deathskull disabled below the waist. It occurred to me at work that we haven't seen any disabled Epics yet, and I can't see a reason Calamity wouldn't pick them if their powers compensated for it.
