Newcomer seems puzzled. "Are these some kind of cookies they offer around here? It's better not to accept them. I saw what is done with cookies in dark alleys... If you mean books, then fine, we can always use more books. Books provide references, references are foundations for theories, therefore books are divine and of Theory. And I like reading."

"Don't worry, these cookies were made for the sole purpose of a joke that has refused to stop, but also to combat the spiked cookies of the DA." Amrynn explained. "You can be sure that they are safe."

Newcomer spends some time theorising about it internally. Then he states "Ally, you indeed can bring bookies. Amrynn, I saw your oaths as the Forumlurker of the Knights Awkward and I wonder if you would like to join Theorywatchers of Knights Theoretic?"

Mistrunner is conflicted as to whether she should accept the offer of an alliance or scream "NOOOOO!" like Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi.

"I'd be entirely open to an alliance, though that probably would require social interaction." Amrynn offered. "I likely won't, however, be joining."

His spren, Fi, fluttered over to him, "Why? Is it because of your lack of originality or creative thinking when it comes to the topic of established franchises?" Amrynn hesitated at this. "What, no rebuttal?"

He sighed, "You're not entirely wrong." He sulked, dejected.

Well, the First Ideal is revealed and it's indeed compatible. As for the Second and subsequent Ideals, it depends on the order.

Sequence (Ally's spren) moves over to Fi and hums "ooooooooooh, more sprennnnnnnn." He proceeds to bump into the wall, remembers he can go up walls, and then jumps onto Fi. And misses, crashing into the plate of bookies.

"Hmm." Fi says, bending amd looking down at Sequence's fallen form. "What an interesting spren." She fluttered over to Amrynn. "Why am I not that interesting?"

Turning to face her, Amrynn responded, "You are interesting, just a different kind of it."

Mistrunner laughs. "Yeah. There were a bunch of... potatoes, or something. For a group dedicated to reading books, there's a lot of drama 'round here.""If it's any consolation, I didn't get one either. They don't deliver to desolate mountaintops, apparently." She scoffs. "What's the world coming to?"

" And my bookies burned. And I missed a signing by 3.234564435665598747484937374847748494847483839373636373893837339938383992827748384773838374738847 minutes. My life is over."

Ven lookes over at his spren, Ciphen, who is making faces at him. Ven bundles his head in Hero of Ages Annotations, Volume 23456789.

I am but a humble novice, reader of a mere three cosmere books, but I request permission to join your fine guild. I believe I could fulfill the tennants quite nicely, as an awkward nerd myself.

Amrynn walked over to the newcomer, clapping them on the shoulder. "Greetings. It's always good to welcome someone else into our ranks." He said. "Also, don't worry about the whole 'three Cosmere books' thing. I joined after only reading the current stormlight books, and had barely heard of the Cosmere. You'll be just fine. I'm afraid that I didn't catch your name, friend, though I may honestly forget it." Amrynn grimaced.

PS, mobile version struck again! Accidental downvote on Airhawk360, please someone balace it out!

"Hear that, Kipper? We're a fine guild!" Mistrunner exclaims. "I mean, ahem. We would gladly welcome you to the great order of the Knights Awkward, no matter what your Cosmere-reading résumé looks like. Once you say the Words and a spren is bonded, you may enter our elite society of awkward nerdiness."

Maggie looks up from her book, tears in her eyes. She sniffles then goes back to reading Shadows of Self. Why must it always do this to me? She turns the page, reads the next sentence, and starts to sob again.

Fascinating! I was not aware that the Knights Awkward had Tennants to fulfill (although the Whovians in there midst does not make this too surprising). Though perhaps there are tenets as well as the presence of the dreaded autocorrect?  ;)

You must find David Tennant and convert him to Sandersonism! And then get him to join this guild!

That or the tenth Doctor, I'm not picky.

If you find a Capaldi or Smith or Baker or whatever along the way, that's bonus points.

If you find the fourteenth doctor that's an automatic A+.

Unfortunatly, that wasn't so much of autocorrect and more of a glaring typo. Pretty much I've written that word in a similar fashion since before I even knew of Dr. Who. I used to be a Whovian, but not anymore really. I really should pay more attention to how I spell things...

Also, I might have been refering to the oaths... xD

Speak again the hallowed oaths:

Books before friends.

17th Shard before the real world.

Release dates before birthdays.

The Knights Awkward must rise again.

Mistrunner looks around. "Did everyone spontaneously fall asleep? Or am in in a bendalloy bubble?" She gets way too excited at this possibility and starts to jump around on beanbags.

Out from the shadows, Ripple stepped forward into the light of the Knights Awkward.

"Excuse me, but may I unite with those who are like me, awkward?" she spoke, her voice near to a whisper.

"Books before friends.

17th Shard before the real world.

Release dates before birthdays."

Amrynn shook himself back to lucidity. "Why does that keep happening to us?" He muttered.

"What keeps happening?" Fi asked, curious.

"Though it may just be in my mind, everyone just stops doing anything and their eyes get all glazed over." He responded. "A few seconds after that, my memory fades and I reawaken."

"Hmpf. Weird." Fi says, fluttering over to join Mistrunner in jumping on the beanbags.

Amrynn sighs and turns to the new arrival. "Greetings and welcome to our guild... group... order... thing."

Ally looks up from her trance, and states, "Mistrunner, I think we ran out of bookies..." Her breathing speeds up drastically, until Sequence shoves a bookie into her mouth. Ally's breathing returns to a normal pace. She whips out a paper, and starts writing on it.

Maggie stumbles back in. "Heya guys, sorry I was gone so long. I want to plan an epic quest of adventure for all the guilds to participate in! But making the map has been hard . .

Anyway, does anyone know what our surges do?"
