As tempting as it is, Winter, that's not going to be enough.

Is there anyone willing to lend me a Seon for a cycle, though? I'd also like to make a specific contact, and would either return the Seon to its current owner, or, if the current owner wants to be passing it around, I'd pass it on to another player. Thanks in advance.

And thanks for the idea, twelfthrootoftwo.

GM Announcement

Aonar Faileas has had to step down due to real life obligations. We'd like to welcome Wyrmhero to the game! He will be taking over Aonar's role.

Thank you, that is all.

Great. Just great. One post into the game and people are already wondering about me I'm sure.

GM question: when does this cycle end?

Posted

Wow.  I go away for a day and all sorts of things happen.

Winter.  For what it's worth you had me completely convinced that you weren't a cultist.  Gyorn maybe but not a cultist.

Haelbarde, I retracted from Winter earlier, after Wilson's post defending her. You miscounted me; I was rather confused.

And it turned out I was RIGHT! Take that, Wilson! :P

Oh. Chull. :P Hail, Chief! Hail, King of the Wyrm Inquisition!

Ok guys, sorry, sleepy Kas is sleepy, but:

1. Ren cautions that our Duke/Duchess (if you're on our team) should probably hit Winter's vote to protect Phatt from being made Hoed. (Ren, if you see this, I recommend--as others have suggested in the past--that Phatt just come up with a Hoed Code just in case. Preferably morse code or something, just use words like 'nut' and 'banana' to represent dots and dashes due to Hreo's rules.)

2. Everyone, vote. Vote for Winter. What we absolutely do not want is for you to be inactive and to give the Cultists a chance to mess with the vote and Hoe Phat, alright?

3. In answer to your question, Wilson: yes, we have the results. I was sitting on them--for exactly the same reason as Meta was, to be gauging player reactions to the ongoing lynch train instead of revealing the information early :P Neo has been scanned and proven to be a Citizen Veteran Elantrian. Zas is therefore likely to be the Cultist and the source of the leak unless it was Phat himself. (Long story; tldr; version is that Ren just remembered that Phat PMed Winter on Day One. So Phat might have compromised himself. Ren hasn't ruled out that possibility yet--this is why we were asking you, to confirm if you might've been the leak.)

To my inconstant Lover:

Reflected in the shimmering lake: the solitary moon.

The wind murmurs to the cypresses beneath the pale moon.

Tonight, my glass is brimming with the last of the cool wine,

I gaze up in remembrance and recite poems to the moon.

Did I mistake the promises of those heated glances?

What of these ardent whispers beneath the bright lover’s moon?

The poets claim Love emerged from the maimed sky and the seafoam.

Her blood is the tides; her breath the light of the ancient moon.

How often shall we dance around what cannot be spoken?

Are you any more real, Beloved, than the reflected moon?

You, O Beloved, are not faithless; it is simply what it is.

And you, Kasimir, are a fool to love the fickle moon.

And it turned out I was RIGHT! Take that, Wilson! :P

Yes, because if she'd gone to you to talk about how useless she felt, with a purely hopeless and lost tone and that she was thinking about bailing on the game, you would've been convinced she's a Cultist. I'll keep that in mind.

There once was a man, feared and revered by all. He was named after one of the Greatest Swords in existence, and he bore the might of his namesake. His mere gaze was enough to send traitors running back to their holes, and even the strongest could only tremble in terror before him. Where he went, a great weeping and gnashing of teeth followed. He took on the Bloodthirsty Goddess Wilson, and lived to tell the tale. He led the people of Roshar in the Great Purge of Ghostbloods, and was elected King by the Survivors. With a Wit and a Panda, he formed and led an Inquisition so bloody it is still only mentioned in frightened whispers, and so infamous it rivals the notoriety of House Urbain.

Recently, that man has vanished without a trace. He has returned.

Welcome back, Wyrm. The Wyrm Inquisition will rise again.

Clearly only an Eliminator would want the Wyrm Inquisition to begin. J'accuse!

Edit: Seems the Inqusition's done a good job today already. Winter. Good work team. Let's go to the pub >>.

...In all seriousness, this is gonna take a long time for me to look over... Any helpful summary posts people can point me towards? Bah, nevermind, I really need to read it all. At least today's pretty much sorted out, so I don't need to join in properly quite yet.

@Kasimir You know you're tired when you read that poem as my "incontinent" lover...

@Wilson Yes, of course. That's so obviously an Eliminator trick. :P

@Wyrm Aonar speaks! So guys, never having seen this...Wyrmhero, tell me, is he really that scary?

Argh! Ye' got me there!  ;)

What I said in my previous post wasn't all exaggeration, or even exaggeration in some parts. Wyrm was one of the most prominent and influential players in the game. Think of him as a male version of Wilson. Wyrm was actually elected King in LG5, my first game. In MR3, Wyrm, Kas and I formed the Wyrm Inquisition. We killed a lot of players through the lynch, and it turned out Wyrm and Kas were both Eliminators pulling my strings (I still remember that, you two. My grudge remains). Still, it was fun.

Two things:

First, welcome to our pinch hitters! I'm sure you're all catching up and trying to come to your own conclusions to everything that has already happened, so a little slack is in order. That said, you're replacing inactive players. Please don't be inactive yourselves!

Second, this day is already wrapped up, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the day has to be a waste! I highly recommend that everyone look over what's happened in the game so far (especially stuff like Winter's analysis of everyone from last night) and see what conclusions we can come to now that we know one of the Cultists. After that, I'm taking suggestions on who I should scan tonight. I may go with the popular consensus or I may go with my own choice, but I will take everyone else's suspicions into account when making my decision, so feel free to give me some ideas on who would be a good target*!

*Winter, you're more than welcome to share as well! ;)

Can we assume that Emerald and Wyrm are not Cultists? I doubt Cultists would really go that inactive.

Meta, I'm pretty they pinch hit, not pitch hit. Different game. :P

Sure thing, man. You buying? :P

It occurs to me--for no particular reason--that in future games, it might be interesting to have a role capable of 'silencing' a player and preventing them from posting in the thread for a cycle...Huh.

That's a good excuse in a pinch. :P

Sooooo, Surgebound Rainspren hasn't posted, but he has been active. Possible Cultist move?

He last posted on Night Three. Naturally there would be no replacement forthcoming.

I'm more interested in the fact that Ostrich has not been replaced. It's Day Four--easily enough elapsed time between the original reply to the GM PM and now.

Except that he posted during the night...

Wilson, you never seem to respond to my questions. I mean sure, they're not pertinent to the survival of the City, but poor Edrab is most terribly worried that he has offended the oh most benevolent Lady Kiireon, and seeks to make reparations, but does not know what he should do!

We thought that it would never never end,

ne'er a shadow cast, nor a cloud cast gloom.

Even when the whispers came,

not a moment regarded.

But whispers, like water, slowly seep

a worm of doubt that gently creeps,

eventually all question, fear.

Could these whispers be true?

But to question is a path of daggers,

a downwards spiral.

Doubts become fears, emotions wane,

then what was unending is no more.

Words began it, and words unravel.

Were words of rebuke spoken?

Were they mine?
Or worse, were those words for other ears.

These words, seeds, the first shadow,

the cloud that covers the brigthness of the sun

the first bitter breeze,

the herald of the heart's winter

But this is not yet the final whisper,

darker things are yet to come,

hurtful words, spoken to others,

when my back is turned.

It's these words that to a crossroads us bring,

with the sun falling through the sky,

thought's of happyness now fleeting,

in twilight, nothing.

Storms gather, the clouds now dark,

the hour for betrayal,

Your friends you warn, no longer me,

Words I don't wish to hear.

These words cut deep inside my head,

like a crown made with swords,

a knife to dreams, whether sleeping

or to any waking fancy

Am I to fear like mid of night,

when light is but a memory?

For this I hear, and this I fear,

is the root cause of this plight.

Maybe these whispers are nothing but that,

agents of chaos to any who hear,

but ask I must, and make it clear,

what things have spoken of me.

Well, that was an interesting read to come back to. Winter. I figure I don't need to explain why.

Sorry for not being around much but that's not likely to change in the near future.

If Winter hadn't confessed I would have been a bit suspicious of Meta (an eliminator who is going to die anyway loses nothing by lying to get someone else killed first), but as it stands I believe you. Technically I spose you could be sacrificing a team-mate for the sake of trust, but that doesn't make much sense when said team-mate is already in a position of very high-trust. So yes, I believe you :)

I am not a Jeskeri Cultist. I am a stick.

Oh well that changes everything! ;)

I'm trying to think of who has defended Winter in the past. I don't have the time or energy to search back through the thread but I only remember Wilson doing so and that doesn't help us at all.

The Benevolent Lady Kiireon doesn't wish to tell those who seek to make reparations what they must or should do. She allows them to make the reparations they feel are necessary and if those are not enough, then she will strike in a most unbenevolent fashion:ph34r:

Perhaps he could compose poetry for Her Amazingness?

Are you saying that you want to be lovers with Kaian and Kiireon? Kaian might not appreciate you poetry-cheating on him.

Are these lists of yours anything like Sydney Scoville's List?

I have no idea who Sydney Scoville is, and Google doesn't seem to know either....

Does that include your list of people to whom you would give cookies?

This list does not exist. And if it did, everybody would be on it. Except for those who can't have sugar. And dairy. And gluten. But everyone else. I don't discriminate when it comes to cookies. Cookies all around!

Will you do even this, infidel? Swear by the most holiest of names?

In the city of fallen gods, only the maimed remember their names.

In whose name shall I dedicate my worship? That of the Merciful?

Drunk with love as I am, O my Beloved, I’ll venerate your name.

Overlooking grassy meadows, the monk sips his tea in solitude.

I’m no monk, now; I’ve forsaken my god, abandoned him in your name.

Among the sussurus of the whispering pines, the moonlight descends as smoke

Beneath the gauze curtain of dusk, the cicadas are crying your name.

Wretch! For M’Hael, you’ve given up philosophy, and turned to poetry.

What will you do when he leaves you, Kasimir? With the unspoken name?
