When You read your book on the bike ride to school.

Ha, so true. Except I think about it every time I bike.

Also, when you can't stop thinking about everyday applications of your allomantic abilities.

When you rage on your non-sanderfan friend who says sonic would beat kaladin in a fight (true story) then explaining to him a million ways why kaladin is greater and he just says sonic can move at the speed of ligth and walks away.

When you memorize the first paragraph of The Way of Kings

Szeth-Son-Son-Vallano Truthless of shinovar wore white the day he was to kill a king...

When you take 3 hours to memorize the aons in the ars arcanum

when you go up to your friend who 'promised' they would read mistborn, with your mistborn copy, force it into their hands, and then its the end of the school year and they haven't yet given it back.

When you try to get your non-Sanderfan friend to read one of the 25+ Cosmere books you've told them about.

I had briefly met someone a few days ago. He was a reader, but not a Sanderfan. He said he liked worldbuilding, so I told him to read TWoK.

Lucky it worked; I spend all of my days trying to persuade my friends, but he won't :( , and so I have no one to talk to.

I've so far only persuaded one (@LordHathsin_Surviv0r), but I feel like it would be best to find out what genres they like and stuff.

Like if they like worldbuilding, TWoK.

Romance, YatNP.

Humour, TotES

Action, TFE

Shorter stuff, maybe ES.

Be a higher rank in martial arts and threaten murderous warmups in your friends' classes if they don't read the book

What are known books they like?

Techniques I have used:

  • Loan a book to try
    • Gift one for Christmas/Birthday
  • Print a few sample chapters
  • I created a Cosmere Intro epub to give away to help people make informed decisions
  • Start by recommending a Sanderson book that best matches something you know they already love

Hope that helps

Or strap him to a chair and read the prologue of the way of kings and at that point he will be so enthralled by Szeth that it is impossible for him not to read more.

Perfect, that will do very well.

Thanks Treamayne:)

Or bother him and bother him with random hints and make the book seem like god until they snap and beg you for the book...

I wonder who did that @KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren?
