KotC is actually way less full than you'd think - lots of inactivity and pending inactivity. Totally up to you though, sorry if this sounds annoying.

I’m considering joining, does it require a reliable schedule, and I’m going on my mission in a couple months, will that be a problem?

You could join and then leave for your mission. We've actually had someone leave for their mission and someone else plan to already, as a matter of fact, so it's not unprecedented. We're still finishing up RP2, but we're just about done, so you could join for RP3 and then kill off your character, tie up their story, or let someone else take them over when you go.

It requires a fairly reliable schedule; you could be gone for a week and come back to nothing happening, but if your character is interacting with someone it's best to not make them wait a long time.

@Ethan_Sedai You won't be able to participate in the actual roleplaying just yet, since we're near the end of a big important storyline, but we can let you in on the conversations and give you access to the RP stories we've done already to read up on them if you want. The KotC may be different from Alleyverse (I wouldn't know), and it is greatly focused on dramatic storytelling within a somewhat feasible Cosmere canon. At least, that's what we've made it to be.

And we have a boat.

Because this is a meme thread and I need to contribute something.

 

Edit: Oh, I just noticed you're leaving for a mission soon. That might definitely complicate RP participation... we'll see. You could start off with a minor character and go out with a bang from the get-go, I suppose. Our stories tend to go on for long periods of time. But we've had members who hadn't stayed for long before.
