Not a Herald. But you are right that the pact is more important than what marks it.

More hints:

The blood is quite literal. The second thing is just black ink, the half fufilled pact is more important. Actualy, all four things are more mundane than you think.

Compilation of all so far:

I hold four things in my hands, bloodstained.

The first is the light, that fills all with fear,

For strenght and hate bring death, if untamed.

The second is blacker than the night,

It marks the bond and pact, out of sight.

The third is the clean blade, the tool of the trade,

By wich my hands, bloodstained, their mark they made

The fourth is the lie, the sorrow, the price,

The flowing emptyness that follows the dark.

For all is lost, yet four things remain, the light, the pact, the blade, the wine.

In my bloodstained hands, in mourning, in vice.

Not: Szeth, Dalinar, Elhokar, Vasher, Shallan, any Herald, Silence Montane, or Zo.

Hints:

The first two things are more mundane than they seem.

It is not the light that brings fear, but the truth it reveals. And the pact was only half fulfilled.

The pact is more important than what marks it.

The blood is quite literal. The second thing is just black ink, the half fufilled pact is more important. Actually, all four things are more mundane than you think.

The speaker is from Roshar.

This boast was meant to be misleading, so look be careful with people who seem to fit very well without some alternative interpretation.

No idea who "Zo" is, so no. I will tell you this: the speaker is from Roshar.

Also, this boast was meant to be misleading, so look be careful with people who seem to fit very well without some alternative interpretation.

Tomorrow I may give another hint if no-one guesses right, and it will be a hint that praticaly gives it away for free, since it seems I made it a little too hard.

I'm going to make two guesses. Lirin, or Lin Davar.

Upvote this guy, because he got it right. I made the boast with the intention that people would think the person was a killer based on the blood and the blade, when it was Lirin all along, the most non-killeristic of all non-killers to not kill.

Your hint about the mundane things helped. I went back to 'the tool of the trade', and reflected that a Shardblade sounded a bit weird when thought of as a tool.

Okay. So this one took me a while, and it's going to be far, far easier than the boast that captured our attention for quite a while, but here it is:

I am the wolf-son fettered with word-chains,

Whose sharpened fangs gleam in bloody battle

Where I have surpassed Stonesinew in valour.

I have waded deep in the throng and won free

By the strength of my arm, with nothing but

the garments of war to defend me. Of the wound-thorn

many are the songs sung of my skill. I have fought foes

without the spear-storm, in the tight circle

Where one sits in judgement. I have wagered all and prevailed.

With strategem, I have outwitted foes who sought to

deceive me, arrogant within their carapaces.

I am the scion of rulers of men, the bright

shield who defends the one who forsakes glory

for the lord of kings. I am the exultation of the

crash of spears, the battle-son, the unyielding tower,

the vessel of blood-fury. I have slain the lying wyrm

whose forked tongue dripped poison in the lords’ ears.

Name me heart-judge, the knower of men, and lover.

Champion of the God of Lies,

Seeing by light unshone,

Marked by the light too bright,

Fighting those that I am most alike,

To guard my former enemies.

With might in hands and all the world on sight,

I will bring the punishment, of metal and light,

Marked by sword, marked by the fire,

Serving the God of Lies.

Champion of the God of Lies, -No idea whatsoever
Seeing by light unshone, -Stormlight?
Marked by the light too bright, -Stormlight again? Yes, I am unoriginal
Fighting those that I am most alike, - Kaladin finds more honor in how the Parshendi fight compared to Sadeas's men?
To guard my former enemies. -Windrunner? I will protect even those I hate
With might in hands and all the world on sight,
I will bring the punishment, of metal and light, -Metal and light... That narrows things down to either the entire Mistborn trilogy or the entire Stormlight Archive... I didn't say it was narrowed down much.
Marked by sword, marked by the fire, -Shash?
Serving the God of Lies. -No idea whatsoever, again

Basically, while I'm probably completely wrong, I will state it to be Kaladin.

Not Vasher.

I hope I didn't make this as hard as my Lirin boast by accident.

EDIT: not Kaladin either.

Yes, you got it.

Spook serves Kelsier, and them Ruin pretending to be Kelsier, and one is a false god while the other is a lying god.

He is a tin savant, so the unseem light of stars became as bright as the day once was for him.

He is the survivor of flames, marked by the flame.

The Citizen of Urteau fights for the skaa against the nobles, worships Kelsier and sees Ruin pretending to be Kelsier.

Spook as the survivor of flames protected those opressed and killed by Urteau reign of terror, those that were nobles, half nobles or even suspected of being nobles.

Ruin grants him the power of pewter to complement his tin by turning the sword that pierced him into a hemalurgic spike.

Guy above me can take it if I get it right.

By the powers invested in me by natc:

Changing with power,

I hold death in one hand and life in another.

I consume the souls of men, ever hungry.

I see fire, death, and war.

I defy society and they revel in my debauchery.

I live on high while workers toil beneath a fiery sun.

I die to raise an empire,

Leading to peace brought by gruesome battle.
