Damn, that was a crazy game.

Thank you GMs, this was super fun. Also I loved all the Star Wars references.

Well played elims, y’all did great. Especially @___ I genuinely did not suspect you until you were the only option left. @Through The Living Star you did good for your first elim game, just got a bit unlucky. @DrakeMarshall I had fun arguing with you. And you almost had it, I was worried there for a while.

@Through the living Wahr would you have been traumatized forever if I turned out to be elim after all that?

3 actions and one ability. Just interception.
Was that ability intended to be as strong as it ended up being? Bc it ended up being pretty crazy, obviously.

Thanks! And yeah, I didn't inhibit you, and I did not read the rules about Elim doc counting as a PM until you brought it up. But, I did manage to convince one villager! Sorry, @Verdance for lying to you, and to @Fizz9 at well. In the Elim doc, it's literally me just obsessing about how bad I feel about lying to you guys 😭

Edit: And I was a Inhibitor/Senser, 3 actions total.

Nice job everyone(but mostly Mippo)

In order to be consistent, I need to ask.

Can everyone list their number of actions and abilities? I need to know if I was the strongest.

I had 3 actions and 3 abilities: Inhibition, Mindblades, and Non-cytonic Communication.

Time to read through the Elim Doc

Thanks! First time being elim

I got so close 🙏

2 actions, sensing and hyperjump

I messed up saying I had inhibition 😂

Great job Mippo, you made it so far. Literally carried the entire game for the last few cycles.

That was so much fun, thank you GMs for doing all of that, and for putting up with my incessant plotting.

Thank you to my fellow elims as well, that was a great first Elim game.

Thank you thank you

So much appreciation to my fellow elims, I would have had absolutely no idea what to do if it wasn't for you guys

@Verdance very sorry for framing you by not submitting a kill

I realized at like the last moment that I couldn't submit a kill 😂

I will take that as a pretty good first elim game!

2 actions, only sensing

Probably could've been useful to the village if I got a chance to use it.

My bad

I messed up myself the day I died, I was pretty confident I was going out, but then I forgot that Mindblades happen after death, but inhibiting happens before, so the two Mindblades I put out that day didn’t count and only the inhibition on Coco went through

Also, I definitely chose the wrong person to have Ver make a PM for me with

Yeah! This game was fun! Having only one ability...

I am kinda glad I was exed, I wouldn't have had the time to do great stuff, and it helped sniff out the elims (just a little)

Fun Game!

You know If you would have turned out to be Elim, I would probably be unable to ever trust a Information Role ever again.

It was a very Fun game althoug I am a bit annoyed at us how long we took to find Mippo.

Also funny that TUM and I ended up cleared again

@Myst I had one Action Mindblades and Hyperjump

Posted

Stop apologizing to me @___ & @Through The Living Star, i would have done the same to you.

also major apologies to the Village team, yall won in spite of me, especially TUM and Mippo. I literally graduated today so all the brain cells are allowed to remember basic logic over, like, trigonometric ratios, now. Sorry bout that

I had two actions, Mindblades, Inhibition, and Cytonic Communication

and still was a net negative to the village team 😅

You were also fooled by Mippo for two cycles :P I'd call it even

I'm glad everyone had fun!

@StrikerEZ It was a blast co-GMing. The first couple hours after the game started and we were pushing multiple hotfixes was a very interesting time 😂 Thanks for letting me help out!

Balance-wise, I think the game worked out pretty okay! I was a bit hesitant about the village only having one sensor, interceptor, and illusioner, especially as the sensor and illusioner were killed pretty quickly. But the interceptor lived to the end and managed to catch two elims - congratulations, Coco :P Also wow, the elims did manage to hit every single hyperjumper Striker gave the village! Still an extremely close game with not 1, not 2, but 3 coinflips! With Mippo in two of them!

Have some game awards!

The award of Most Mindbladed Player goes to @DrakeMarshall, who was mindbladed a total of five times across the game! I'd recommend some space excedrin for that.

The award of Most Targeted player (counting inhibited targets as well, but not protective inhibits) also goes to @DrakeMarshall, who was targeted a total of 8 times! Runner ups are @Verdance with 7 (People really didn't trust you after C4) and @coco.pudding with 6 (most inhibited player?)! Popular!

The title of Corpse-Mindblader goes to @Through the living Wahr who attempted to mindblade Myst and Penguin after their deaths! Honorary mention to @Verdance for saying he would mindblade Penguin (who was dead). Macabre!

The Luck and Chance award goes to @___/Mippo! The coin flip killed you in C2 but spared you in C6! You've truly experienced both sides of the spectrum! Go do some gambling! (Don't actually)

The Honorary Elim award does go to @Verdance for defending both Star and Mippo so passionately :P Honorary mention to @The Unknown Medallion in C6 and C7. The elims appreciate your service!

Thank you everyone, and may the Slug be with you!

I’ve got some thoughts that I’m gonna start giving later today. But I just wanted to say that I think this game was surprisingly balanced, but in a very swingy way that could’ve quickly gone way too far in either team’s direction.

Okay, thoughts time.

Overall, I’d say I’m pretty satisfied with how the game went, considering what could have gone wrong. I tried something new as I was doing distribution this time. Roles and action counts were decided purely randomly for each player, and then several different alignment distributions were created. And we picked the distribution based on what roles players already had.

For the roles, I created a little wheel where I made three of the roles have one slice, three had two slices, and three had three slices. The goal was to essentially simulate making some roles more common than others. I wish I had saved that somewhere because I forgot which ones I put in which categories. :P

Anyway, we basically stuck with the random roles and actions initially assigned, except for two small changes. We nerfed Drake because he started off with three actions, and we gave TwinStorm Illusions when he didn’t start with that. I’m still fine with the TwinStorm change because it actually put Illusions into the game, but in hindsight I think we should’ve changed it so Drake had two actions. That would’ve given the elims a little bit more wiggle room compared to what they had. Especially because we underestimated the potential power of coco.

That’s another thing I think we could have really screwed up on. If coco hadn’t hit so many Inhibited targets/been Inhibited so many times, she would’ve been insane and likely completely broken the game. As it is, with her having three actions I’m amazed how long the game lasted.

I do think it’s a little unfortunate that the elims essentially lost because of the coin flip that killed Star. Another hindsight moment here: I think we should’ve traded out one of the elims’ ability to Sense for Mindblades instead. The elims had a lot less ability to control the thread compared to the villagers here, which is usually the opposite of what you want.

I also think Sensing needed more thought put into it. I did initially envision it as scanning action type, not just who targeted who. Unfortunately, I realized the problem there after the game started. Doc and I had to do a quick change to make it only give players and not roles. Because otherwise the elims would’ve essentially role scanned nearly the entire village on Day One. But that was a huge nerf to the elims when I had been okay with how the elims’ roles had played out because I was thinking of Sensing without realizing how broken it was. In hindsight, it should’ve only been able to give one action. Then I would have been okay with it still giving action type, because then it would just be a normal role scan, just one that gives you a random player’s role.

Overall, I don’t like how much the randomness, a lack of foresight on my part, and the mid-game nerf to Sensing impacted this game. I was trying some new stuff out, and I’m honestly just really grateful that it didn’t turn out as insanely broken as it could have. And man I’m glad we only made a couple minor errors while dealing with the absurdity that was these Inhibition rules. :P
