Imagine if a random person linked you up with two other people, that’d for sure be stalkery

That’d be crazy

I don’t know about yall, but I’m slightly concerned. There’s a suspicious lack of actual activity from people

Like, Fizz is currently set to go out(unless Coco lied about getting inhibited and got hit with a mindblade or something, since I know my vote counts this cycle) and no one’s doing anything.

To me this suggests one of two things, either we’re completely off the mark and the Elims don’t feel the need to step in, or they’re going to hammer last minute.

3 Elims is certainly enough to change who’s going out, and depending on the vc, they might only need one or two. Seems risky to me though because I can see outing Fizz to save himself so we exe him tomorrow instead of today -earning the Elims and extra day - but something feels off right now

Hard clearing Twin.

Im gonna go look over D1 again with V!Qian in mind

On reread, I'm offering Myst some village cred for this immediate reaction

Option 1: Twin is village. In this case I think elims are probably unhappy with Twin's survival and becoming softcleared, and probably their first response isn't this, because they don't actually want village!Twin to be hardcleared. I figure they'd probably prefer a more moderate-sounding response that still leaves room to say "it might've been a WGG" a few cycles later.

Option 2: Twin is evil. In this case I think most elims probably aren't bold and brazen enough to demand a hardclear on their evil teammate right after a risky gambit. I mean, that sounds like a fun time to me ngl :P I just don't think most players would do that as elims, I think they'd be more hesitant and wanting to wait and see what the village response to their Risky Gambit was before taking a strong stance.

Twin can be treated as villager for now but either way.

HEY WHAT?! NONONONONONONONONO!!!

First reactions aside, and having taken a break to play piano to calm my nerves (I AM STILL VERY ANGRY AND WILL FIND WHO SAID THIS), I am ready to analyze.

So, the first thing that I'm noticing is that this had to have been added before anyone was certain of anyone else's roles (idk if there are seekers in this game, there aren't right?), and still, even then, why would someone send this unless they a) knew my role (impossible this cycle(no seeker(pending))(all actions happened at roleover)), b) guessed, or c) is from the Dissidents trying to mislead us.

Regardless, WHOEVER SENT THAT IS GOING TO DIE - I exaggerate, we here at the superiority are peaceful, and I will not kill anyone - DOESN'T MEAN I WONT WANT TO THOUGH!

it's a little interesting that you bring up that nobody could have gotten a scan against you by now

while true, the train of thought kind of implies that you think if there had been a scan on you, it might have found something

18 hours ago, coco.pudding said:

Yep, that’s exactly the issue. Whoever sent that message is likely an elim, I really can’t see a villager just throwing something like this out on only the second cycle. It just seems very counterproductive.

@Fizz9 do you have any defense other than what you said earlier? You’re the only one taking this accusation seriously, but it’s pretty obvious it’s faked, so why?

I will say I have definitely seen both villagers and elims do this kind of baity message.

Most recently I remember it being an elim just trolling people basically, but it also reminds me a bit of one successful village play once to get reactions out of people.

I have some guesses about who might have sent it, but idk I guess I don't feel it's strongly indicative of their alignment

Me and Drake were exactly the people I was thinking of, yeah :P

Penguin maybe too

In my experience with gambits, they don't go through unless everyone is on board. A little bit of hesitance stonewalls them for some reason (I've tried to get my team to do WGGs so many times and I don't think we ever actually did one)

I think its the opposite actually, probably a villager reaction testing. That would be a bizarre play for an elim to make

I have to gambit at ever opportunity

for medical reasons

the funny thing is, we didn't actually gambit that much that one time when we were on an elim team together

The only issue with that reasoning is that others also brought up the whole no scan thing. That’s why we all immediately discounted it.

Yeah I’ve never played in a game with this ability so I kinda just assumed it was an elim play and didn’t think too much further.

Ig it could be an elim play with the opposite effect we’re considering, where Penguin is elim and this is an attempt to soft clear him. But I doubt it, that’s kind of a crazy strategy to pull out right off the bat.

I too am concerned. But I also don’t know who to vote for. It seems like we’re probably off the mark, but then where is on the mark?

I doubt a hammer is coming especially considering how few people seem to be online. So it seems like they’re just letting Fizz die here.

Wounded Gazele Gambit

The Elims NK one of their own who they know will survive the attack (in this case through Hyperjump) so that the target appears more likely to be village

Realistically I dont think that will work anymore because in my (limited) experience, as soon as someone survives an attack someone suggests a Wounded Gazele Gambit

This is the correct definition

It can work, but it has to be under very specific circumstances, the Gazelle has to be a reasonable kill target (therefore not under much suspicion, limiting the utility), and they can't do overtly elim things

We were a little busy losing :P

We have done more gambits as neutral/village than as elims though, that is true

Edit: I have no clue who to vote here tbh. Actually, I have an idea.

And consensus hasn't gotten much stronger since then.

well my vote doesn't actually count, but in the spirit of consensus-building I should probably change my "vote" anyway

Why are we voting Fizz though? I mean I know it's only 2 votes. Still. I don't really have a lot of opinions about Fizz.

Let's keep this vote at least somewhat contested. What do people think about Mippo?

Posted (edited)

Hm okay I’m gonna take my vote off Fizz I think. I’m feeling less suspicious of him as time goes on. That doesn’t really help unless I tie with someone else though. I’m not sure which of the others with votes I’m most suspicious of is the issue. Myst I feel like is village, and I’m also getting village vibes from Wahr. That leaves mippo ig, who I don’t really have a solid read on.

Anyone have thoughts? How would we feel about a tie happening?

edit: oops Drake how could you ninja me with exactly what I was thinking about?

“Report,” said Aire, in her own office.

“The suspects have been released from detainment, Chief Winnifred wishes to formally register their complaint that this is a terrible idea.” Silas, one of her Kitsen spies.

“Multiple reports of human sightings in the North sector, we’re verifying the more credible ones.” Besk, a Heklo analyst.

“Human’s been quiet,” Aire murmured. “I’d expected more… violence?”

“Maybe it’s a nice human?” asked one of her Tanuzedran spies, only to be laughed down.

“Most probably, it’s biding its time. It might be intelligent enough to try and make a break for the spaceports,” said Besk.

Aire hummed. “Good thought. Tell Chief Winnifred to send more patrols to the spaceport. Silas, what’s the status of the suspects?”

“We’ve located the escaped Dione, he claims to have been attacked and that he had to hyperjump out of jail to save his own life.”

“Do they want police protection?”

“They said they were attacked in police protection, ma’am, so no.”

Aire laughed. “Fair. Continue to watch them. I want eyes on each of the suspects, eyes on the Chief, and extra protection for the Administrator. Make it so.”

A handful of salutes, and her team of spies and analysts left the room.

Aire floated down into her transceiver, flicked a few switches in a different combination.

“Report,” She said.

“We’re out of custody and safe, Ichor.” Said a voice through the static. “Ready to proceed to the next phase on your word.”

“Make sure your attack lands tonight,” Aire said, “then we’ll proceed.”

-------

Rane wished there could have been rain. They knew someone would come looking for them, either Superiority Security or the killers to finish the job. And now there they were, two figures cornering Rane in an alleyway.

Could they Jump again? They hadn't consciously done so, the first time...

"Inhibit them," said one of the figures, and Rane's heart sank.

I'm sorry, parents.

A knife through their gut, and Rane thought no more.

---------

Cryax and Nail stared each other down, both suddenly in the middle of a mob. Several chanted Cryax's name, it seemed like an equal amount wanted Nail's blood. In the end, they flipped a coin, and Cryax saw his fate clear.

Yet, as fingers began to close around his neck, Cryax closed his eyes

and jumped

Cryax opened his eyes - he was not dead! He was in his ship, in the spaceport, if only there wasn't a blockade placed to stop a human escaping!

Cryax sank down in his seat, and began to wonder how long he could hide out in his fighter.

--------

Mippo was executed, but survived by hyperjump!

Twinstorm was killed! They were a loyal citizen and a cytonic illusionist!
