I did here:

Yes, I did ask it in my GM PM, as I wanted to be sure the rules meant what I thought they meant. When I had confirmation, I checked again to be sure, as I not want to accuse anyone unjustly. Unfortunately, I did notice some discrepancies between what the GMs said and what Mist said.

I've kind of given up hope that I will survive this round, so at least when I die and you see I was a villager, I hope you realize I was telling the truth.

I wish nothing more that I could claim it was all a misunderstanding, and that I misread it. But after re-reading it for the probably sixth time, I can't see any other option or truth. I checked the rules, and asked the GMs, and re read everything again just to make sure. But everything points to the same thing. I was not followed last night.

Please don't get me wrong. I am not saying that I know for a fact that Mist is an elim or anything like that. The only thing that I am saying is that I know for a one hundred percent surety that I was not followed last night.

I will make this one plea for my life. I do not expect it to be believed, but I will say it nonetheless: Why would I lie about this? I had just been cleared by one of the people that was most against me. No one was more excited about that than I was. Then I noticed this. If I was an elim, why would I bring this to light? This will most likely get me executed, so why would I do this? Why would I make it so that I am back in the spotlight, rather than in the background if I was an elim? Beyond that, this is such a stupid thing to die for. If it does turn out that Mist has been lying, that does not necessarily mean that he is an elim. Why on earth would I let myself die for this?

I just hope that if I do die, you will think it about what I said and maybe believe it.

That is all I'm going to say, if anyone has any further questions, please feel free to ask.

If you have any questions or clarification needed, please ask.

Oh yeah. *facepalm* That was dumb of me.

Also, asked you this in PM, but curious re: your reasoning for following me. Why is me not voting for Striker suspicious to you?

sorry, I missed that. basically I was curious to see if anyone would break or change the tie on D1, and you did so I wanted more info on a potential e!Doc/e!Striker situation

From what Doc told me, she seemed to bring it up herself and had double checked everything in her GM PM, and when Star and I were talking, I was also getting V!vibes from her.

As I’ve mentioned(or, Doc mentioned that I mentioned) this is a terrible thing for either of us to lie about, if I was going to fake a claim, I could have said I got lost searching for her(it’s a 20% chance) or I got a clue(those are almost impossible to verify), as for her, it draws attention to herself unnecessarily, no one was under scrutiny, so it couldn’t have been to protect anyone, and in a scenario 2, that wouldn’t even mattered because there’s only one killer at a time in FFA.

it's not really a horrible claim for an elim to fake if they forgot that people are notified on being followed, especially in a game with as many potential rules as this one

I hope someone convinces us otherwise because I don't want brax to die :(

I'm starting to think there's a chance this might all be some weird confusion. Because I know I sure as hell am very confused. So I think I'm fine leaving my vote where it is for now and letting the tie decide for me.

Just imagine how confused I am... But can I ask what made me seem suspicious? I'm completely fine with you voting me- to be honest, I would rather let the tie decide it than risk getting out another villager- but I want to know what I did that made you vote for me.

It was mostly just vibes based on what other people were saying about the whole predicament. I basically just picked you out of you and Mist because the most recent opinion had been leaning towards you being elim.

I know its been confirmed in people's PMs but I want this out in the thread considering how weird all this is

@Araris Valerian is it possible to be successfully followed by another player without being notified?

Ah dang it, you found out my Elim Strat lol, making a Rp character everyone wants to stick around so that they don’t vote me out.

In all seriousness though, unless Araris shares something new, I can’t figure it out. I must be missing something, but I’ve gone over my PM, and I’ve gone over the rules, I’ve asked Araris for some clarifications, and I still don’t know how or why this happened.

No, it is not. Anyone who was followed was notified of it.

No. Anyone successfully followed by at least one player is notified (and the notification is the same, regardless of how many people did the following).

So really. Just comes back down to either Mist lied about following Star, or Star lied about not being followed, which is a really dumb thing to lie about >>

The fact they're both doubling down so hard on this impossible contradiction ironically makes me trust them more than if one of them had changed their story to make sense.

Honestly fair, I want to trust Star for similar reasons. Idk about her, but I’d be fully exposing myself as Elim in my PM with her, because it doesn’t change the dynamic in thread.

considering there’s not much to do right now, Perhaps both Star and I are Elims and we’re just chaos goblins

Well I've been looking through the rules and I have found nothing that could have caused such a discrepancy, so I have no clue what is going on. The only thing I know is what went on in my GM PM. (below is even further elaboration on what happened on my side of things)

So, when Mist first posted that he followed me, I was super grateful to have something to back up my story. You can see my post from there. I had checked my PM and I found a clue and I was feeling pretty good. The day before all this happened, however, I had been going through the rules as I had clearly misunderstood some rules (I.e. what poke vote means) and I remembered the quote about being notified when you are followed. So when I though about that, I checked my GM PM, and noticed that nothing said I was followed. The only thing mentioned there was the clue. At this point I was kind of confused, but I wanted to be sure, so I checked with the GMs, and they did clarify that if I was followed, they would have mentioned it in the PM.

So that's how I know that I wasn't followed. I have checked several times, and I know I was not followed last night.

I'm honestly beginning to suspect that maybe both Mist and Star are villagers here. To me, the likely sequence of events seems to be that Mist just wanted to throw out a made up following action (either to sow confusion, for chaos gremlin fun, or to obfuscate an action they actually took), and Star initially was like "oh cool, sweet." Then Star went to actually check their GM PM, and the rest of the confusion happens in thread as it occurred. Mist is probably doubling down to avoid admitting they lied. Regardless of what side Mist is on, that doesn't look good.

A thought I had while writing this: Mist could have been motivated to lie about a following action N1 to claim an action other than using the smoking gun. If this is the case, would we get anything from exing Mist here? They can't still have the gun, right?

The feeling I'm getting is that they're both village and its a misunderstanding but our GMs have clarified they did not make a mistake, so the fact remains that one of them is lying?

It just doesn't make sense in either scenario 1 or 2. What's most likely going to happen is one of them dies today and we exe the other tomorrow, so this just drew unnecessary attention to themselves, especially when Mist confirming Star's exploration at first made me file them both away as 'fine'. An elim team wouldn't want attention like this, much less a serial killer.

I've thought about this a lot, and while I was fine leaving it to a tie, I think I may end up voting Mist here. The way I'm looking at this is E!Mist has a a reason to lie, to claim an action other than what they actually did. E!Star literally has no reason to deny that she is cleared. While Mist's arguments seem earnest to me, at the end of it, trying to go for the simplest solution here, its more likely that he claimed an action he did not take and had to double down rather than Star deciding to put herself back in the spotlight in some kind of insane gambit when she was upset about being suspected at all D1.

Also, really, we might end up exeing them both anyways, and I'd rather give Star a chance as a new player another cycle to prove themselves.

I have evening plans tonight so I might not be back before rollover, so just wanted to get this in.

Sorry Mist, no hard feelings :P This still doesn't feel like the ideal solution but its the one that makes the most sense to me.

I’m a bit confused by the first bit because I was given multiple chances to say that it was a test or something. Doc straight up was like, “what’d you actually do” I could’ve claimed to have actually followed doc. I’m saying I followed Star

Fair, none of it makes sense to me either.

I would like to live in a game where Mist doesn’t die early, so only for that reason will I be voting against Star

One, that's a pretty lame reason @Verdance 🤣.

I am going to vote for Mist, I agree with @Doc12's reasoning.

What, I ended up v!/Ver/v!Mist in Hufflepuff last round, but he got exe’d or NK’d first round. Plus, someone was trying to get me to vote earlier, and

I am honestly quite ssstymied on a sssuitable sssubject. No one has ssseriously caught my sssuspicions ssso far,” Harley hisses to Patrick. He seems to have gotten caught up in some snake roleplay or something, or maybe he’s simply using the wrong definition of hiss.

Well, I certainly don’t like dying, so Star

sorry, but I know I’m telling the truth. If I’m right, I have one more vote than Star, so it’s not a tie right now. But I’m not going to check right now.

I really don't like this back and forth. It draws all the attention.

I was thinking the same; in the case of scenario 2 it does us no good to be suspicious of things from previous rounds. It would make more sense to see who is more suspicious now

Obviously that's only for 2 tho

Ok so I just spent more time than I wanted to looking through last night/day

In the case that this is scenario 1, I think Mist is elim

For 2, I have a feeling that Ver had the gun last time.

I think the best chance we have to find who has the gun and properly vote them, as that seems the best course of action. But that means that the only real clues we have is changes in behavior between cycles.

I wasn't able to find anything myself behavior-wise, other than a weird comment from Ver about not getting his message from the GMs

@Araris Valerian/@coco.pudding does using the gun count as an action? Like can you use the gun and something else?

So here is everything that has happened so far.

Claims about Actions

Mist: Searched Star

Mint: Searched Doc

Fallen:Found  Jeskeri Paraphernalia

Doc: Found remnants of a Rithmatic defense

Star: Found a Voidlight gemstone

Mippo/___: Found a Voidlight gemstone

Striker: Found a skull with steel spikes

Akimo: Found a spent aluminum bullet casing

Verdance: Found an old boot

Qianwellian: Found a boot

Conure: Did nothing

Fizz: Did nothing

Votes

Star: 3 (Striker, Mist, Verdance)

Mist:4 (Mippo/___, Mint, Doc, Fizz)

People who haven’t voted yet/ are not planning on voting: Conure, Akimo, Qianwellian, Star, and Fallen.

*sighs* I really don't want to vote anyone. I'm not sure who to vote at this point. I really want to think that Mist is genuine, but then again, this is my first time playing SE, so I don't know how good I am at judging people's character. The only thing I am sure about is what happened in my PM. So... argh, I don't know what to do...

I actually did get my GM PM regarding my search for items. I was just lazy (or possibly sleep deprived) and said so without checking at all. I corrected that basically immediately after. My PMs are a bit messy right now.
