After Nikolas was brought beside her, she began playing a stringed instrument.

Fair enough

Alym continued edging forward until he was within earshot of Nikolas, using the sound of the instrument to cover his whispering from prying ears.

@wrath I cannot remember your new name

"What happened?" he hisses, trying to look like he is not, in fact, talking to anyone.

She continued playing and singing in that strange language.

He looked to you two, undoing your bonds setting a warm lantern next to them.

”You can’t stay here - the lantern has limited fuel. You can either go back up that road, where you’ll come to a Noble-controlled town. Or, you can take the trek to their destination, which was recently taken by the Masks.”

He hesitated. “Both are rather unpleasant at the moment, but there is not much of an alternative.”

He stepped towards Nikolas, wrapped in a blanket and staring blankly. “If you’ll excuse me, I need to find a healer.”

The two stepped into the night, quickly disappearing from sight.

Kasha cursed softly, rubbing her wrists as she stared at the… well, she couldn’t quite call this humanoid a man, let alone a person; not with the claims he was making. Her gaze followed the figure and other man––Nikolas?––as they made their way into the unknown, vanishing from her sight within seconds.

”Death creates life,” she scoffed to herself as she rose to her feet and brushed off any remaining snow and debris. “What has this world come to..?”

No use in letting it go to waste though. Kasha rubbed her hands, feeling some warmth come to her fingertips as she held them over the lantern for a few seconds. However she was going to repay this was beyond her. Yet another thing for her to mull over before she slept at night. She shuffled over to the unconscious soldier, tapping him with her foot with no response, yet his chest rose and fell with soft breaths.

Interesting, she thought, crouching down to grab her revolver and cane, sticking the latter in the snow. She checked through his pockets and found some sort of rations and other assorted supplies––some even looking like some sort of warming gadgets––quietly putting them in her pockets. Didn’t seem like he was going to need them for a while, so no time like the present. She was careful to button up his coat and tighten his gloves, pulling a piece of cloth she assumed to be a mask over his face.

Kasha pulled on her own gloves and placed the revolver under her coat on her side, then buttoned up the coat, pulled up a mask over her nose and mouth, pulled down snow goggles, and threw her fluffy hood over her head. She bent over and tightened the laces on her boots till it almost hurt, then rose and snatched up her cane to ruffle the snow a bit, covering her tracks. With a grunt, Kasha trudged over to the lantern and picked it up, continuing to move the snow a bit behind her for some… interesting tracks as she took a few steps, before stopping to turn to the other figure.

“Well, I dunno about you,” she said to the other prisoner, her voice muffled through the mask, “but I don’t want to hang out here for long, and I’ll be damned if more of those soldiers came.” Kasha glanced over at the unconscious body, then back to the figure. “If you wanna join me, I’d suggest you get up now so we can get a move on.”

@RoyalBeeMage

Before waiting for a response, she turned down the road where that Death figure had pointed to. The one away from the Nobles.

He seemed to be in great pain, kneeling and out of breath as soon as the one guiding him left.

Ann scampered over to Nikolas, looking at his face, which was slightly burnt. “I think it’s him! Is it him?”

The grey man, Death, was speaking silently with one of those in charge.

The one who claims to be Death… is not Death. But his purpose is good.

There is only one way that man can be healed.

You can call me Ember. I’m… not here right now. It’s a long trek, and unlike “Death” there, I can’t teleport through the Winter.

Aela to Felicity:

I may be able to take him on. The energy in this place alone should be able to bring him back to health.

Ann nodded, falling silent.

sadly

it refers to gsrp 1

the main characters became deities

You’re not mad. I’m able to communicate with those who resonate. This universe was crafted with my powers, so when parts of it embody them, a bridge is created.

Slowly, the burns began heal, his wounds knitting closed. Eyes blinking, he looked around. Where am I?

Nikolas can only be healed by a Grey Folk, but Death has placed… restrictions on this. He needs to connect to the Grey Folk in a way Death cannot stop.

He has already done it. This place, and Nikolas, helped forge the connection.

I should probably tell you…

…I am a Grey Folk. I couldn’t come in person.
