“Hm, well… let me help you.”

She plucked once on the instrument’s string, and she saw the story of the Great Spirits in vivid detail.

The woman narrowed her eyes further. “Fine.”

A child, resembling Nikolas, stepped up to them. “Who are you?”

what's actively happening at the moment?

Roy Thorne looked around for people... he was a little lost and didnt know where he was going.

"Right." He looks over at the child resembling Nikolas. "Do you think that's his?"

“The Still Wind said to tell them about Nikolas.”

She looked at the child, and her face fell. “I don’t know. But if it is, a child shouldn’t be alone.”

"No." His face looks grim for a moment, then he forces a smile onto it and walks over to the child.

Okay

What I think imma have happen is that you were captured by Noble (not abusive captivity, but there’s not much of a reason to it) immediately preceding your entrance

Mystic Syn was also captured, and she is with you now being transported to another place.

“I’m Anna! You guys are giving me weird looks… do you maybe know my brother? They tell me soooo much that I look exactly like how he did.”

The girl’s eyes lit up. “I knew it! I knew he was alive! And he’s gonna come back and save us, and we’re not gonna run out of coal, and we’ll all be okay!”

A few of the residents gave her sideways looks, but most ignored her.

Spoiler

He got arrested, but these people haven’t seen him since before he was Anna’s age.

His “sister”, the one that isn’t Anna and was killed by the Masks, is one who went out into the snow after him when the vehicle he was being transported in collapsed, saving him but being unable to re-find the manor. She didn’t want the Masks or the Nobles to find the manor, so she couldnt get help to find it. So she raised Nikolas as her brother while joining the Masks to get income/warmth

These people believe he and the servant died when the vehicle collapsed

Sparks eyes only

I should really update the pm… sorry

apologies for the late response.. in both getting to this and how late it is lol. 1am is apparently the time where i have enough time and motivation to sit down and write a response. some creative liberties have been taken, so apologies again if they aren’t in line with the lore.

Weightless.

Peaceful.

It was as if she was suspended in the air, held aloft by invisible strings.

Felt nice, actually. Better than… what was she doing before this?

Her eyebrows knit together as her feet touched down on the… ground, she assumed. Taking a few steps into the dark, Kasha’s brow continued to crease with thought, trying to at least grasp what happened… but it was hard to even think. Unnatural…

With each step, it grew gradually brighter, causing Kasha to squint at her surroundings. Old wooden hallway… looked vaguely familiar. Her breath steamed in front of her as she moved on with creaks underneath her feet, pulling her coat tighter around herself and held fast to her cane, tapping it in front of her as she glanced around every so often. Why did it seem the name of the place was on the tip of her tongue..?

Well, wherever the hell this is, she thought, I need to––

Her thoughts trailed off as Kasha looked down to see corpses… so many of them.

They were cast all over the place, especially the severed parts. Already, each of the corpse’s skins were tinged with blue, but that could mean virtually anything in this weather. Dark blood seeped into the very floorboards that had creaked underneath her earlier, staining it a dark crimson.

Kasha tilted her head and blinked as she knelt down next to one of the bodies, prodding it with her cane a couple of time. Strange. One would’ve thought that––

Wait.

Her stomach dropped as she looked at the mark on the body, taking in a sharp breath as her eyebrows twitched upwards. Kasha immediately shot up to her feet as she surveyed all the corpses once more, then down the hallway.

Maybe this time..!

BANG!

. . .

The loud noise jolted Kasha awake, making her hit her head hard against the back of a wall. Flashes of color entered her vision as the back of her head began to throb quietly, but surely. In fact, the right side of her face and left arm seemed to follow suit with the throbbing. Not only that, but everything seemed stiff, as if she had stood out wearing nothing but her undergarments for a good few minutes, although she was still wearing her warm gear.

Chills and shivers, she swore as she groaned. It’s as if…

But as Kasha tried to stretch out, she found herself… unable?

With a tug with her arms and legs, they seemed to be…

Tied up, Kasha finished, setting her arms down in her lap, leaning her head back on the wall. Or at least shackled. She looked closer at her bindings, a faint memory tickling the back of her mind about said bindings, but not enough to make ripples.

She squinted at her dark surroundings, and exhaled quietly as she recognized the back room from the bar from earlier, though darker than usual. Made her really have to squint, though there wasn’t anything too noteworthy… besides the other person tied up a stone’s toss away from her. Not anyone from earlier, from what she could tell.

But before she could hiss a whisper to the person, the sounds of footsteps pierced through the muffled air.

Swearing quietly, she hung her head limp, snapping her eyes shut as she allowed her body to release tension right as the creaking sound of a door opened.

Indistinct mumbles carried on the air, but was definitely too quiet for her to make sense of… either that or the sounds of the bar––or was that the ringing in her head?––was too loud.

Kasha breathed rhythmically as if she were asleep, yet thoughts upon thoughts flooded her mind, trying to piece together the picture supposedly in front of her.

Small note - the tavern burnt down, so y’all are waking up in a moving wagon.

A guard was situated on the other side of the wagon, and there were 4 other prisoners with them.

The guard looked at them. “You’re awake. We’re taking you for questioning - currently, we approach a secure facility.”

"No."
