An orange dwarf star. 'Tis 0.72 Suns in mass. A year on your planet, if you want it in the habitable zone, will most likely be around a month, though I must use some Artifexian stuff to make sure. Also a decent chance of tidal locking.

Quote

alr

tidal locking? so some funky Taldain stuff, huh?

Cultivation found a strange Orange Star. He decided that this would be the perfect place to put this... this New Yolen. But what should New Yolen's name be?

hmmm

Oh! Yrots. Yrots will be the name of my New Yolen System.

And so, Cultivation created the Yrots system.

Quote

I need your opinion on something. Should I make the ruins of Yolen into an entire system, or just a single planet?

Which do you think would be best? You can decide which would be cooler.

An entire system would drain your Investiture. I would say you cannot do that.

Also Taldain is missing a lot of cool tidally-locked stuff. There is supposed to be extreme winds blowing towards the Darkside, sub-zero Darkside temperatures, super strange climate zones, and some other stuff.

The star has no planets, other than Story. I mean Yrots.

Well, if you want I can throw in a dominant Gas Giant, but that's it.

Habitable zone  0.494 - 0.712 AU.

Hmm... I can't find anything for tidal locking formulas yet, but I'll do some research later.

I dont want Yrots to be lonely.

A planet with a Laykium core... sounds like how Canticle might've formed.

Also, around the G-Type star there are 2 dominant gas giants and probably some others I haven't rolled for.

Quote

Yup, this is very Canticleian.

Layke noted the already existing planets - perhaps they would be useful in the future. His planet and his system would need names invented for them; that Layke could do to pacify the power.

A system, as of yet unnamed. Invention started the beginnings of a new planet. Grace did not lend power to its creation. All she cared for was people, who could feel emotion to the intensity that her Shard desired.

When Invention decided to create a mortal species, she wished to be there to lend an invisible helping hand.

Invention - You may create life on your planet

Layke felt the briefest unnerve - a shivering in the futures he would create life. Perhaps he should simply never do so - it would eliminate so much uncertainty. Try things. Solve problems. Layke acknowledged the urging of his power, but refused this particular act. Instead, he studied his system and his capabilities, thinking out his next action. It would not be the creation of life, though - he knew that much.

Virtuosity - Are you doing anything in the Taldain system? Are you Investing the Supergiant?

Quote

Yup, was just waiting for the go ahead.

Virtuosity smiles to himself as he witnesses the glorious artwork of that supergiant, rare, so rare in fact, he couldn't find another one about the cosmere. He was hoping not to use this one; it's a rather nice piece on its own. It's unfortunate, sometimes, the lengths one must go to for the Arts. It doesn't matter; this star will do. Despite whatever Ado's plan was for it, he will use it for his own purposes, now that he is dead.

Virtuosity pours himself into the star, pushing raw investiture into the physical realm, into the heart of a blazing inferno, the stellar engines changing in ways inexplicable. The formerly blue sun begins to change into twisting patterns of cyan and magenta, each color vying for dominance as the sun burns even brighter, bathing that strange world in the middle in invested radiation.

13 pulses, each coloring the sky with flashes of hot magenta and electric cyan. The truine life will almost certainly die soon, their souls being mutated and burned as easily as their flesh.  If not now, the next stage will annihilate it anyway, though he may keep some of that darkside flora- it does have some interesting colors.

AND THUS IT BEGINS.

Everything about Taldain is ridiculous. The white dwarf should be scouring Darkside and for it to be tidally locked it would either have to be inside the supergiant or Darkside is molten by the white dwarf 😭

There's too much magic. If you're going to be magically tidally locked, at least be tidally locked properly!

Threnody. Where the dragon Andarneoas had chosen to reside. Direct visions of her actions were obscured, of course, as the details of the future grew blurry where her counterparts meddled. What Endowment planned, however, could be gleamed by Grace’s own knowledge of her personality, and the actions she had thus far witnessed.

Humans would chafe when trapped in a cage, no matter how gilded. The true human experience was to be found in a world of uncertainty and passion, just how Yolen was. For it was only in such circumstances that victory and defeat held meaning. It would not do for the people of Threnody to forget that. Grace would make sure of it.

She reached out to the souls of mortals, not the planet. Endowment had already suffused that enough, and neither Grace nor Odium held a desire to be affixed to one location. Perhaps the wake of Ruin would hide Grace’s touch.

Threnodites had a curious ability to persist in some form after death to a greater degree than most. It was to this that Grace made changes. Inserting into willing souls an instinctive remembrance of how they lived in the past. An inborn desire to live life as it was meant to be, designed to persist through generations, until that longing would be fulfilled. One day, hopefully, the people of Threnody might call on the power of Odium to support their attempts at freedom from Endowment’s control.

Endowment.... twitches.

What's this? Passion leaving her mark on my souls? Did she think a mother wouldn't notice if her children's souls were messed with?

The Dragon laughs. Her pets are hers, not some conniving old woman's. But yet, she doesn't know what it will do.

As Ruin's touch fades, a warrior dies in battle below.

As his body dies, his shade appears in the cognitive, murky greyscale, and weak. Endowment appears in front of him, a majestic dragon with scales that glitter under the light of that cold sun. She raises a claw to the spirit, touching his soul, and... exhales.

The Gift of Life

With her booming voice, glittering through his mind, Endowment's investiture flows into the freshly dead soul, halting his passage towards the beyond and giving his form a beginning and an end. He opens his eyes wide as his body erupts in a riot of color.

Watch over your children, as I watch over you.

With that, the Dragon's wings grow beyond the horizon, protecting threnody from further influence, and forming a wall of shimmering mist on the edges of her dominion. She goes to another soul, breathing color into them, and again and again.

While other shards focus on war, Andarneoas shall make her children live lives beyond death. Until, of course, she grows bored.

Spoiler

They will fade, without worship from the other side.

I'll explain their mechanics later.

Endowment is an introvert.

Yay!

Shalta didn't know what to do. She'd seen a god die, ascended to being a god, and had helped save a planet. She was so tired of things getting destroyed she just wanted to find something somewhere and just keep things as they were. But she knew she couldn't, that things would change, the power hated that thought but it didn't make it any less true. If she could just get a little ahead of the curve, then she might be able to keep things safe and unchanging, all she needed was an opportunity...

Layke noticed this from his far away star system, baffled. What could possibly be done with that much power? Only some sort of avatar could warrant it - even trying to move the star would require less. This was why he had left - the other Shards were too unpredictable.

Layke considered it. Shalta had made sense to him, mostly - perhaps he could make an exception. But no, another Shard had already offered.
