Oliver... or Ver for short.

Ver spent a while thinking, consumed by his thoughts, and somehow missed Oxy's disappearance. He didn't, however, miss his return.

“Yes! Yes, it’s the coolest! It’s… uh……. It’s got trees. And there’s a desert and some islands. It’s awesome.”

Better, it had the Sennights. And maybe they could help her.

Jidah beamed.

"After all that, I doubt the Cloud will try to stop us from getting offworld. If anything, they would see it as a good thing. My one concern is that our time is ticking away. Our actions will only make the Cloud more eager to complete the Rebooting process as soon as possible. I give us a fortnight at best; we will likely have less."

Inside its head, Ver wasn't opposed to the idea of interacting with some new gods. Perhaps they could help pull back the veil on his memories...

"When is she going to get here? She pulled me back, so where IS she?" Oxy muttered.

Then, a strange, short woman appears next to Oxy. "Oxy, why did y-" She stops in the middle of her sentence. She slowly turns her head towards Lati, staring her in the eyes. Almost like she knew exactly where Lati was. "Whwoulyou bring me here?" She turns back to Oxy. "WHY DID YOU BRING ME TO THE DOPPELS!" She turns towards Lati with a menacing look. Oxy holds her back.

"I've said it before and Ill say it again. THEY ARE NOT DOPPELS!" Oxy yells at her.

"WELL? ARENT YOU SUPPOSED TO BE SOOOO GOOD AT IMMITATING US? WHERE'S YOUR ATTITUDE? HUH? EVERYONE KNOWS THAT I HAVE A 'TEMPER' SO WHERE IS IT? HUH? WE HAVE HALF A MIND TO STRIKE YOU ALL DOWN IN THE FIRST PLACE!" The woman yells at Lati.

"Latent! LATENT, CALM DOWN! She is not a doppel. She is just like you at the... beginning. Don't scare her off. You and I both know the reason you were first called Latent." Oxy snaps.

Latent rolls her eyes. "They are imitating us. Thats all they are. I don't care about hurting its feelings."

"Latent! Didn't you finish your bubble? Werent they there too? Also, sorry about actually feeling hopeful about the END OF THE WORLD!"

"No. They weren't. I don't know why they are here. The only one I found was a strange cloud agent plowing around. Our Bubbles were always the closest." Latent hesitates. "I still think they are Doppels, but whatever. I wont make a move on them. They are, after all, in your bubble."

"Good. They have NO intention of being doppels. You will see." Oxy replied.

Ver immediately got defensive.

"Don't talk to Lati, or any of us, like that!" Ver began to say more, then froze as he realized. This woman was another Primal. Malware, that made two of them. One part of Ver hungered for more information; this pair spoke in terms unknown even to the Cloud. But on the other hand, it knew the danger these beings posed. Eventually, Ver settled on a diplomatic yet firm approach.

"What are doppels?" Ver said, turning to Oxy. "You saved us, yes. But if you truly want to help us, then cut the secrecy. You aren't insane anymore. Show us that you're on our side."

Just now, CoderDrag0n8 said:

"Oh. You think that you, a mortal, can 'dissmiss' me? Adorable." Latent said this with a chilling anger. Jidah slowly feels her connection to the rift drifting away from her. she slowly felt he senses, her body drifting away. she then saw the most terrifying event of her life (not trying to godmod, but it is the end of the world) and it took all she could for her essence not to drift away. A strange voice said in her head: you can just let go. you could be free. let yourself be drawn in. accept the fate that this says you'll meet. we couldn't escape it, why could you? You will die. It is inevitable. Even if you pretend to still be an immortal, you, are, just, MORTAL.

"And STOP arguing."

14 minutes ago, CoderDrag0n8 said:

*sigh* ummm. How do I explain this. Latent is like... a God? not a god. a God. Like REALLY powerful. Like, could manipulate away the rift (whatever that is) powerful. they have seen the end of the timeline, and stole its power. They posses some of the power to destroy the existence of the timeline itself. To destroy EVERYTHING in it. You dont just block a being that has taken its powers from the end of the world and can travel through time. Also, what does Jidah mean? Primals are, quite literally, the most powerful beings in the universe. More powerful than Dazh. Also, they are kind future versions of this party, so any powers you have, even just for a moment (remember their time travel), they have. So, no. You do not just block the abilty to END THE TIMELINE ITSELF! The only way this worked so far, was because Oxy is mostly pacifist. Remeber how the Cloud was afraid of Oxy?

WOAH. I get you're just expanding on pre-established lore, and this is a free RP, but just keep in mind that we're all trying to have fun here. OP characters can be alright to an extent, but let's not abuse their power. Things just aren't as fun when someone has a character that can wave everything and everyone else away with a single move. I'm not saying your trying to do any of this stuff; just keep it in mind. Omnipotency can sour quickly, and we don't want to go down that route.

that does make it more fun, but to make the end of the timeline actually a threat, we cant just have somwhere we can go to pass by it. It is, after all, the END OF THE TIMELINE. And I am seeing the reasons why OP characters are bad, and I get that, but to some level, the Primals represent the only solution to the end of the world. The party tried to stop it before, and thats where the Primals came from. They failed. So, they took some of the power and tried to to go back. We can make your world currently imune to the primals powers, but... The end of the world WILL unravel that. The end of all things has to remove, well, all things. More info of how it works is explained below. But... there is one primal that can go to your world. YOUR primal

Oh I no. I dont love that Latent is all powerful and had anger issues. But one of the big facets of the Primals is that they got their power from the end of the timeline. they dont have to be omnipotent, but since they are a 'replica' of the current group, they are definetly powerful. Each one is all of the powers of the current group combined + a little extra.

"Yes. Okay. I should have told you earlier. This might take a while. Im not sure if you already know this, but this party made it to the end of the timeline. You saw it, and tried to fight it. It... didn't work out. At the very end, you sacrificed your lives and memories to become the only things that could stop it. Time traveling beings called the Primals. Now, not all Primals accept this version of events. They think you all are evil doppelgangers bent on destroying the timeline. Why else, they reason, would strange creatures take our forms? I am part of the group that believes that you all are our past selves, and Latent is of the group that you all are Doppels." Oxy says.

Mmmmmmm

Nah

I want it to be separate :D

But it does feed off of other worlds, so don't worry, it'll still be a threat for her world

Even if it didn't, it would provide some interesting ethical and moral dilemmas since a lot of characters have people they care about and the Falling Stars are very specific about who they let in to the Pocket

Sorry, but I really want it to be separate 😅

Yeah, look dude, OP characters just aren't fun for everyone else. And I know we talked about this already, but no one should be trying to dictate others' characters' futures. It's seriously over-the-top, and I think it's safe to say we all kind of just want to explore our characters and their worlds without facing something akin to the final boss quite yet.

I don’t want to escalate this anymore, so I’ll just speak my mind right now. This seems a lot, to me, like you deciding the future of this thread and these characters. And frankly, while I’m willing to incorporate some of your ideas, I want it on my terms. I want 209845 / Ver to develop in the arc I have planned for him. We can talk more about this outside the thread, but this seems like it’s toeing the line on Godmodding, or something similar.

Well... It was the actions of the characters in the past. They can still act and do their things, but the end of the world is coming, and preciously, the character's past selves (not their current selves) (yes its confusing), did that. The Primals are here so they dont have to do that anymore. I see all of these things and wonder why I did not consider these before... but Hoid slayer did aprove my character description from the worldbulding thread.

The Primals. The Primals are aincient beings that predate the web itself. When the universe began, the primals were still merely forces of nature with rudmentary intellegince. Eventually, looking throught the web, the discovered something. Life. They were intriuged. It started with a little cell on a random world in the web, and these primals LOVED it. Before this, the Primals were just there. No memory of anything before they poped into existence, they were confused. They all began at the begining of the universe. they still hang out their regularly, because there was no time, and therefore no paradoxes. Then, a primal named Oxymoron discovered they could time travel. This was a wonderful discovery. The only way out of the begining of the universe is time travel. They, like newborn children discovering the world, wanted to see everything. They saw interplanetary wars, the cloud discovering the Web, and they also saw the end of the universe. They all ran from it when they saw it. They quickly bonded together to fix this problem. The more and more they explored, the more smart and intellegent they became. This had all started when they saw life. Life made them think. the begining let them plot. The more intellegent they became, the more they realized that they were devoloping personalities. Some became living contradictions, some wanted only Order and Strucuture. Some wanted Kindness. Some wanted Death. Eventually, they discovered a group of people at the end of time itself. These people wern't all that special. They had seen these groups of people trying to fight back against oppression or danger to many times. It happens everywhere, constantly. The only reason these heroes were special wa because of how close they were to the end of time. All of the primals had now created bodies for themselves instinctively. They started to realize that these heroes looked exactly like them. Right at the end of the world, all of the heroes sacrificed their lives. After this, the primals split up. Half of them tried to go past the end of the universe, the other half past the begining. After this, they resolved to meet back in the middle, no matter what happened. The half that went past the begining, apeared at the end. the half that went past the end, apeared at the begining. Then, they realized that they were the group of heroes. They then fractured. The group of primals would still welcome each other if seen, but they parted ways. They could affect the timeline. So each and every one of them decided to to try and stop it. They noticed that there were 'bubbles' of time in which the could only affect if within the bubble. Each primal scoured their own bubble.

Oxymoron:

  Hide contents

Oxy was one of the more confusing Primals. A discription of him found reads:

One of the main leaders of chaos, he is the god-like being known as Oxymoron. He in him self is a contradiction. He is the most sane, most suicidal, most unhinged, most stable, most absolutely crazy person ever. He is the smartest dummy, the brightest darkness, less powerful than Dazh, and yet he might be able to beat him in a fight. He can make anyone powerful or useless, and yet cannot affect anything except himself. he is so contradictory that you shouldn't trust anything you hear about him. In fact, he doesn't have any contradictions at all. he is himself and yet he is also you. Everytime you look at him he is different, and yet every time he is exactly the same. (Yes you are supposed to be confused about him. But you are also supposed to know everything about him. he doesn't understand himself either! And yet he is in complete understanding of how he works.) He is knowledgeable yert knows nothing.

Of course, he was often sane and could form coherent sentences. He just often does what is not expected. Strange things kept happening around him in his bubble. So he investigated. He then discovered a party of heroes. They were in one of the worlds fighting for it's survival. They gave him an eerie sense of Deija Vu. He then realized that they looked almost identical to the party of heroes at the end of the world, and his friends. He had to investigate, to intervene! But he didn't. He watched. And he kept a close eye on the one who looked exactly like himself. He, the god of contradictions, was the perfect one to create a paradox. The team at the end of the world had time-travel powers. This was not a result of becoming a god. Those time-travel powers had to come from somewhere. The only beings in the entire Web with time-travel powers were the Primals and the team of heroes. He then decided to intervene, to judge them up close. He couldn't move through time in bubble like he could other places. The bubble started with the team of heroes forming, and he could only move backwards in time in this bubble. Outside of the bubble, he could move past it, but he couldn't enter it backwards. If this team of heroes succeded, which he planned to help them do, he would give them a gift. And so, he intervened and encountered his doppleganger.

The signal faltered, and Ver finally began to physically freak out. So he tried something drastic.

Jidah! Jidah, can you hear me? The signal is faltering. I need your help. Please don’t leave us. I understand why you’re angry. But Lati need you. We… need you. Please respond. I don’t want to lose a friend.

It was several minutes before he received a response.

I'm not going back where she can hurt me. I'm staying here and I'm going to find another Sennight to help me get my power back. I brought some from the Rift in bracelets and stuff, but I don't have enough to teleport anyway. I'm sorry. But this is probably goodbye.

Tell Lati.......

I'm not going back where she can hurt me. I'm staying here and I'm going to find another Sennight to help me get my power back. I brought some from the Rift in bracelets and stuff, but I don't have enough to teleport anyway. I'm sorry. But this is probably goodbye.

The stone shingles were transformed into a collection of rocks, and the wood below it was turned into a log; both fell down into the house (or the forcefield).
