Fine, then, Fenna thought. She whipped out her gun and fired at him. She continued to run, jumping between buildings in arcing leaps. It wasn’t Steelpushing, but it was close. Fenna doubted many other Metalborn had experienced this—you needed pewter to make up for the strength lost by storing weight. Not only that, but her savantism lent her jumps greater distance than even another with the same metals could have managed. Approaching a large gap, Fenna sped up and stored her weight to the maximum as she pushed off. Her cloak flapped behind her as she flew through the air, her hood falling back. The Coinshot was still a ways ahead, but she thought she was closing the distance. Quote May depend on the strength of the allomancer.

Fenna, Mistwarrens Fenna growled in frustration as her bullet—intended to draw the Coinshot’s attention—was simply deflected. Well, that wasn’t going to work. She re-holstered her gun and dropped lightly to the street. Part of her wanted to stop—this had all been a whim anyway. But she was stubborn. Flaring pewter again, Fenna ran. Before, she had gone at a comfortable speed—which was quite fast with pewter. Now she pushed as hard as she could in a sprint that would exhaust even her after a few minutes. It could be dangerous with her dulled sense of fatigue, but she could risk it for a short time. Fenna sped down the street, breathing heavily. Buildings passed by in a blur as she approached the Coinshot. Quote I tried to find out how fast Fenna could realistically go. According to AI, 90 - 110 mph, though that probably is not a maintainable speed. This is assuming she triples her strength (a WoB states that normal pewter Allomancers roughly triples their their strength when flaring, and as a Savant, Fenna should be even stronger) and stores down to 5% weight (which reduces strength. For the sake of calculations I assumed that this cancels out the extra strength she has from being a Savant.) So, to be safe, we could estimate that she’s traveling around 40 - 50 mph. To further support this, a Thug on a pewterdrag is said to be as fast as a galloping horse, which is 25 - 30 mph (reaching 40 mph for short bursts.) With Fenna being a Savant and a Skimmer, she should be able to top this by a significant amount.

Koloss17 She/They Posted January 27, 2025 Author Posted January 27, 2025 Perses, Mistkeep, Wickwillow Manor. Perses paced Wickwillow Manor, comforted by the soft hum of the walls. Once, this place was his prison, a place where he nearly went mad from isolation. Now, it was his domain. Perses still hadn't fully forgiven Belias for his tactics in getting him on his side, but he did admit that his stay here had made him realize important things about the world. That the only person that is there to help you is yourself. That meeting with the constables, Belias said in his mind, could have gone better. His voice felt louder here. Not as loud as when in the Alleys, but it was close. The ever shifting walls, the corrupted creatures that slip into Alleycity. This place was one of a kind, Belias had said. A place where the Alleys and this realm met, and stayed touching. A permanent Alleyway. It had been constantly growing, beginning to affect other buildings in this block. Perses wondered how long Belias could keep this place a secret. "The Mistwarrens seem under control at the moment. What worries me is New Hallandren," Perses stated, his feet creaking as he walked. Yes. The developments there are...troubling. Perhaps further investigation is needed. Perses found himself agreeing with the Alleybeing. He was always slightly reluctant to follow his orders, as Belias had promised an end to working under someone. Yet since he couldn't directly influence this realm, Perses didn't give it too much thought. Though Belias was granting him sanctuary and abilities, he was still in control. Putting on his old mistcoat and blinders glasses, he called upon Belias to send him to the now locked down New Hallandren.

BridgeBoi Posted January 30, 2025 Posted January 30, 2025 (edited) Altin, Mistwarrens, Altins Apartment Altin stared out into the night. He was on top of the apartment block, where he and Leif lived. He loved this little roof. It was high and quiet, a place to rest, a place to forget the memories. As soon as this thought ran through his head, the memories began to return. Memories of kneeling beside his father's body, seeing the Nightwatcher, ramming a spike through his friend's heart. Altin pushed back the darkness. "I will be strong", he said out loud. The words acted as a light in the darkness. Leif needed him. He couldn't afford to be weak tonight. "I will be strong," He repeated. He wasn't sure if he believed those words, but he needed them to be true. Weaver spoke in his mind, a trace of concern in his disembodied voice. "You ok, Altin?" Altin responded, hesitation gone, "I'm fine. Let's get down to business." He strode to the edge of the roof and pulled out a vial of tin, downing it. He burned it and the world became more clear, focused and vibrant around him. The strange sensation was becoming more familiar to him. He looked around, and with his enhanced eyesight found he could see clear to New Hallendren. "Something big is happening in New Hallendren, Weaver. And that means opportunities." "Are you sure you want to jump headfirst into a whitespine den, Altin? You are not the strongest anymore." Altin winced as Weaver said that. Upon coming to the Alleys, he was dismayed to find out that having a shardblade didn't make you the most powerful anymore. He heard stories of men who could fly through the air, shape stone like water, and even heal from mortal wounds. He pushed back his doubt and spoke, "You're right. I'm not the most powerful and storms, I probably should be running away as fast as I possibly can. But my cousin needs food and I'm the only one who can bring it to her. So if that means fighting men stronger than myself, I will. And Heralds help anyone who gets in my way!" Weaver paused appreciatively. "We'll turn you into a hero yet." Altin shook his head ruefully, "No, I'm a thief. So let's go steal some things." Edited January 30, 2025 by BridgeBoi
