My job’s far from over.” The stranger had a point though. What was his goal? Ultimately, he wanted to be respected. He had that now, for the most part. What’s next? Perses began walking to the police station, turning his head to respond. “I want to keep this place in check. This is the worst district of the city. Do you think I want it to stay that way?” This, he knew, was a lie. Yes, he was disgusted by the state of this place. But to him, this was how it was. It was a kill or be killed world, where might was all that mattered. Now that he was on top, all he had to do was stay there. And to do that, he had to keep things in check. Leon, the Mistwarrens, the street "Oh?" he said, raising an eyebrow. "Then you'll be coming for the underworld? Me, all I want is to stay alive, and ahead." And kill some Radiants along the way, he reflected.

So feel free to do whatever with your character, whether he’ll let Perses go or not, but expect that it’ll be a bit before I respond. @KnightSkye @SpiritOfWrath

Most aons were purely visual, with no other sense picking up on them. While Perses could sense that an aon was being drawn, he had no idea what it was. Perses yelled at the elantrian. "I'm not here to fight!" He would if he had to, and he wasn't particularly worried, but an elantrian was someone that he would avoid fighting if he could help it. Still, Perses tapped a large amount of bronzesense, being sure to know when an aeon was being drawn. He couldn't know the details, but given the previous aon, he assumed that they weren't going to be friendly ones. Quote Perses isn't particularly experienced with aons, as elantrians are few and far between. Had he more experience, he could figure out which aons were being drawn. He is a quick learner, and he can recognize if the bronze signature of an aon matches an aon that was recently drawn, but even distinguishing aons from each other requires a lot of bronzesense to be used, even for a savant like him. @TwinStorm Edited January 21, 2025 by Koloss17

Suddenly, the night stillness was shattered by shouts and a sudden blast. Cautiously, Fenna hurried forward and peeked around a corner to see what was happening. She was near the old police precinct, and there seemed to be a fight going on inside. Two figures glowed brightly, one of them encased in a bulky set of Shardplate. Radiants? In the Mistwarrens? That was certainly unusual. The other figures were indistinct. Fenna couldn’t make them out— Light from the Radiant floating in the middle of the room flashed across the face of one of the combatants, revealing glinting spike heads and a bone-plated cloak. It was him. Perses. Fenna had seen him once before, on the night of the Blood Moon. His appearance and terrified her then, but now she watched more in fascination then fear. Skye yelled at the Shardthief, "That's really storming rude!" "Storms!" Kai's armor flew to him, half a second too late as the projectile from the weapon blasted through Kia's body. "Storming damnation that hurts!" Skye appeared in Kia's hand as a short, wide bladed sword as he lashed himself at the Shardthief many times over. Koloss17 She/They Posted January 22, 2025 Author Posted January 22, 2025 Quote @TwinStorm it is worth noting that you should be careful with godmodding. Instead of “shot through Kai’s chest” saying “shot directly at Kai’s chest” or something like that, as that provides agency for Kaiden to dodge, have plate form, or even partially dodge the bullet. obviously given that @KnightSkye’s character is a radiant, being shot matters a lot less, but it is something to be wary of. You don’t want to take away other characters’ agency. Additionally, if the bullets weren’t aluminum, there could have been a chance that Perses would have redirected the bullets. Also also, before I make my post, what metals does Leon have on him? as for the metals on Perses, the only ones he has are the metals inside of his aluminum vials and the tungsten bullets in his aluminum magazines. He got blinged out with aluminum gear last era .
Steel Speedster ♂ Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 Thav, The Corridor Thavel Talin strolled down the streets of the Corridor, on his way to the Silver Dagger, a store for Metalborn supplies. With Jerrin growing more and more obsessive in his search for leads, Thav had taken it upon himself to ensure that they remained supplied with gear. Well, that at any rate was one reason. To give himself something to think about, Thav had decided to try out various shops and test the quality of each. The Silver Dagger was a bit out of the way, but it had a good reputation. Thav burned bronze before stepping into the store--a habit he had learned after countless missions with the team. There were a few random pulses--mostly zinc and brass--but nothing close by. That safety check out of the way, Thav passed through the door and walked to the front counter. @Koloss17

Perses pulled on the bullets in the coinshot’s pistol and simultaneously pushed on the vials in his pocket. A trick he had learned with other coinshots or lurchers was to overwhelm them. Let’s see if it would work. In a swift motion, Perses moved towards the man, letting his awakened mistcoat barrage him with its tassels, each with a sharpened bone blade at their tips. Normally, he kept his distance, using his firearm to deal most of the damage. Yet if he could help it, he wouldn’t tear up the precinct without showing that was his intention. He couldn’t push on the man’s metalminds, but he could tell what he was burning and tapping, and when he was flaring. It should give Perses the upper hand, but he made sure to never underestimate another Twinborn. All senses on high alert, Perses braced for a fight. @KnightSkye @SpiritOfWrath 7 hours ago, Steel Speedster said: Thav, The Corridor Thavel Talin strolled down the streets of the Corridor, on his way to the Silver Dagger, a store for Metalborn supplies. In half a year’s time, The Silver Dagger had flourished. What was once one of the most popular taverns in the city was now a sprawling shop, specially catered to Scadrian metalborn. From bracers to vials, The Silver Dagger was always in stock of anything a metalborn would need. It also sold premium aluminum gear, some aluminum lined hats, and various fashions of mistcoat and mistcloak, along with weapons of all different types and styles. And of course, the cashier’s desk doubled as a bar. Venser, the head shopkeep of the most popular metalborn shop in the Corridor, was rarely what people expected. A Thaylen Rosharan, with no special capabilities, he took the initial odd glances of newcomers in stride. One didn’t need to be a local to know how to cater to them. It was a good life, and an immensely profitable one. While the main shop gave him plenty of wealth, his back rooms arms deals were what really gave him profits. Custom made weaponry, of some of the highest quality in Alleycity. A bell rang as a new customer arrived. They seemed wary of the place, and seemed weathered for their age. Clearly they knew what they were doing, but played it off like they didn’t. For someone so keen on the details, Venser saw a lot of similar qualities in this one. While none of this showed to most, Venser had long ago learned that reading people was a key part of the profession. ”Welcome, welcome! What can I do for you today?”

Either way, he - though careful not to reveal his wound to Perses or any other watching - was not ready for a fight. His flame Aon was not practical at all.

The ominous spren person did something to yank the Thieve's weapon away, and leapt towards him, his coats tassels moving of their own accord to strike him. What was that!? He changed Skye into a dagger and held it close as he lashed himself at the Thief with 5 lashings, aiming to kick him in the chest. @TwinStorm @Koloss17 @SpiritOfWrath Quote Ok, assuming that the alley planet has earth-like gravity, Kai is accelerating towards Leon at about 100 miles per hour second, and can change his direction in a fraction of a second. Through the Living Wrath he/him Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Teon Asheol, the Mistwarrens, police office Teon saw the metal pushing - glad he didn’t carry much metal on him, in the Mistwarrens. His pistol, however, tugged at his belt, and he had to let it go. Well, bother. His stub was exposed now - no more chances of intimidation. With all his Elantrian power, he had no access to it besides a few situational Aons. He was essentially useless right now. Perhaps, if he got out of this, he would pursue more. In the meanwhile, though, he would have to make do. Studying the surroundings, he frowned. Perhaps he could weaken the structure with fire, but that didn’t seem feasible. And so, he sighed and drew an old Aon, the first he had ever recorded. Aon Kii. In its presence, the guilty felt pain - hopefully enough to throw off the Shardthief for a time. @Koloss17 @TwinStorm @KnightSkye
KnightSkye Reforged They/Them Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Quote @SpiritOfWrath What defines the guilty in this case? Is is those who have broken the law? If so, which law? Is it those the user of the Son thinks are guilty? Or is it those who know/feel guilty, either openly or at a subconscious level? Asking cause Kai feels a lot of responsibility for things that weren't his fault, despite having sworn the fourth ideal. Also, he only sworn it about a few hours ago.
