Chartreuse Penguin Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 (Ade)mordna Niugnep accidentally slept in. So far as she knew this was no major problem. All she planned to do this morning was some housework. Since she woke up late, she didn't do much today. Now it was late in the day and Ade realized she had no food for dinner and breakfast tomorrow, so she had to go out. When she went out, she saw the town was in chaos. Something about an eminent koloss attack and some traitors in their midst. "Well," she muttered, "time to go read the town bylaws again" 1
Mauve Crocodile Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 I think Coral Swan is alright for now (my vote was a a random poke) and Cream Tuatara trying to get coral to speak about their role when the game has barely begun is suspicious. There’s no reason to do so yet! Praise the Ja

Indigo Weasel Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 Nibbles has seen Acks lurking, but if Nibbles waits any longer, the pie will grow cold. Nibbles offered everyone two apples! Nibbles wanted to gauge reaction time, but no one stood out as loyal by offering a quick response. Falcon’s instinct was to self-exclude themselves and call the bait out for what it was. Nibbles thinks that everyone probably knew what was happening, but that Spiked are more likely to try to evade the danger while playing within the rules. It’s a v!Kasimir-type response to be more meta about it. Nibbles likes Falcon’s effort too much to bother re-thinking the comparison. Heron only participated once pinged, and provided a closed response. Swan participated willingly, provided an open-RP opportunity, and chose a red apple. The rules of Nibbles’ game were that whoever chose red would be voted for, but Nibbles really thinks Swan is loyal. Their silence today notwithstanding, their risk tolerance seems higher than Heron’s. Nibbles thinks that of the three, Heron responded the most like someone trying to avoid drawing excess attention.

Although, I don't follow what else he's talking about. (I didn't read into the details about if there are roles or anything, honestly). I don't have anything to say, not quite following his line of thought. I feel that he's doubled back on himself here, but can't be bothered to recall if that's true. I could ask him about his other suspects and who he thinks isn't a saboteur, but I'm not sure that conversation would go anywhere. Plus, you know. Talking requires effort. Most of his thoughts seemed centered on the same group, who I've called all saboteurs together and still find it amusing the way they dance between accusing and ... whatever the opposite of accusing is, with each other. I see no reason why he isn't a saboteur here. His reasoning is nonexistent, and he does not seem to have an interest in actually solving the mystery. Despite having noted it twice now, the gambler (Magenta Albatross) and the drunk (Cream Tuatara) continue their little dance of not actually solving the other. Going further off of that, I still do not believe either of them are approaching this mystery in a way that shows they are innocent and want to find who is truly behind all of this. I find it hard to believe that the group of Acks (Coral Swan) / Alais (Magenta Albatross) / Hayden (Cream Tuatara) is pure and devoid of saboteurs. I'd also appreciate it if anyone has been keeping track of who is currently accusing who (votecount), to see who everyone is currently leaning towards being a saboteur.

The thing calling itself Lysia scowled as she stalked through Tyrian Falls, following the pulsing thrum from her wristband. She glanced at the bustling inn as she passed, but the Resonator didn't increase its pulsing at all, indicating no activity from inside; so she kept moving. This was supposed to have been a simple operation. Get in, confirm the situation on the ground in Tyrian Falls, get out. But of COURSE it couldn't be that simple. She'd gotten caught in the loop. It was her own blasted fault, she knew. She'd known the risks, known all about Tyrian Falls. The village twisted in time, warped by an anomalous perpendicularity into temporal loop, forever reliving the same catastrophe in a perpetual cycle of paranoia, betrayal, and devastation. But that was supposed to have stopped; the loop was supposed to have been broken. She'd been careless, ignored the warning signs. And now she was stuck inside a bubble of time, detached from the wider cosmere. Unless she found a way out, she'd be trapped here and die along with every other living thing in the village. She'd had friends who died here, years ago. Well, she knew step one: identify the Spiked. There were always Spiked, she knew, in every cycle; conspiring to bring about the downfall of Tyrian Falls. They'd be hiding among the villagers, sowing discord and paranoia. They could be anybody; from what she remembered of past cycles, the identities of the Spiked were completely unpredictable. She remembered the Professor had a theory... But she was getting distracted. She needed to focus on the task at hand. Lysia arrived at the burning corpse of the watchtower. The guards were still keeping people out, but that wasn't a problem for her. She withdrew a small, oblong box from her pocket, a crank extending out of one side. She adjusted some sliders on it, then after some quick mental calculations, turned the crank two and a half times. She dropped the box to the ground where she stood and immediately started moving to the other side of the tower, tapping her finger rhythmically against her leg as she went. By the time she'd circled all the way around, she'd tapped her finger one hundred and sixteen times. She waited, timing her approach, then started swiftly running towards the tower, her feet making almost no sound as she ran. At the count of one hundred fifty, right as she was about to come into view of the guards, the harsh cawing of a raven echoed out from where she'd dropped the box. The guards jumped and turned towards the sound, raising their weapons, before realizing it was just a bird. They laughed amongst themselves at their tension, and returned to their posts. By that time, Lysia was already inside the watchtower. Inside, Lysia quickly took stock of the room, then withdrew her wrist from her sleeve, exposing an ornate wristband. Composed of an intricate cage of bronze, zinc, and nicrosil, the Resonator held sixteen different narrow, triangular gemstones, arranged in a circle. She'd already guessed what she'd see from the accelerated pulsing sensation, but it couldn't hurt to check. Sure enough, the ruby on the upper left was glowing strongly, along with a faint glow from the emerald near the bottom. Someone had been using hemalurgically-fueled Allomancy here in the last day or two. She had her first lead on finding the Spiked. ----- I don't have much time for analysis, but I see Chartreuse Penguin lurking below, and would love to hear from them. Best not to get involved too deeply with this one. But it hurt his heart to hear ‘dad’ again. He rubbed some more herbs in his pouch unconsciously, hoping they would clear his mind. As the rosemary and citrus filled his nostrils, he blinked and whispered to Mihtig: “You know, anytime you want, you can go get your scratches. There’s someone who might love you as much as Eliine.” Mihtig seemed to purr in agreement. Strange, that creature. He thought they didn’t do that anymore. He smelled again. The wind had changed. He was sure of it. The drunk had drawn bad attention, yes, but Malmoc would scarcely suspect a saboteur to be as blatant as he. It was unproductive, for the reasons all could now see: it did not take Malmoc’s nose to smell the simmering tension in the air. If the Jaist (Mauve Crocodile) thought a little more about his statement, he might ask why a saboteur would so blatantly look for information so early on. While a town drunk could afford lack of discretion, a small cell of infiltrators could not. Granted, ploys were always possible, but suspicion such as the Jaist’s was cheap.

Also, please put your vote/unvotes in bold as well as the appropriate color, and when voting for someone via RP name, include the account name nearby for clarity. We don't want any surprises or miscounts happening. 1

Elder may teach your tongue to speak truth. I expressed an ongoing suspicion, but you remain the one whom I believe to be acting most strangely. Though consolidation of our suspicions will at some point be helpful, and Lysia is a more palatable choice for examination than Hayden, to me. Perhaps they both simply need an herbal remedy to clear their minds.”

We did some alloying, and I learned the ropes. One time I even did it for the Survivor hisself. I know to make them, but I dunno how their uses work.” He frowned. Emerald Falcon Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 I feel fine with where my accusations are for today. Nothing they've said has made me change my mind in the slightest. While I still can't keep track of who is who fully, there's a couple names who I think have been underwhelming and are worth looking at tomorrow. Quote Azure Mouse Nibbles (Indigo Weasel) Young girl / Sew (Ivory Dragonfly) --- Amber Vulture Amethyst Scorpion Charcoal Hyena Chartreuse Penguin Mint Heron --- Merchant / Kael (Fuchsia Ostrich) Mauve Crocodile Nervous man / Rind (Melon Dingo) --- Quiet man / Acks (Coral Swan) Gambler / Alais (Magenta Albatross) Drunk / Hayden (Cream Tuatara)
Charcoal Hyena Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 (edited) Sorry, no RP. I meant to post something earlier in the day, but stuff came up. I don't love how widely the vote is spread in a game with vote manipulation. Some consolidation is probably a good idea: Ademornda Niugnep. Alais. I'm aware this makes me a last-minute tiebreaker, but I think that taking that risk is better than just sitting somewhere meaningless. And while we didn't hear MUCH from Ade, they at least technically posted. Emerald Falcon Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 I'm fine with that. Spoiler Just to reformat it for myself. Magenta Albatross (3): Azure Mouse, Cream Tuatara, Charcoal Hyena Cream Tuatara (2): Emerald Falcon, Mint Heron Charcoal Hyena (1): Mauve Crocodile Indigo Weasel (1): Melon Dingo Melon Dingo (1): Ivory Dragonfly Mint Heron (1): Indigo Weasel Mauve Crocodile (1): Amethyst Scorpion I note the votes moving off of the quiet man, who seems to have slipped back into being forgotten. I'd be fine with last minute pressure here. I'd probably cross off my main assumption of the gambler and drunk man being partnered, outside of saboteurs accusing each other early with the intent to let the other take the blame and have credit later, if the drunk man continues to accuse the gambler here past when the day ends. To keep anyone from screwing up this, I could consider switching to accusing the gambler here.

Its interesting to see myself stanced so high by a person I've not interacted with. Perhaps I should. I notice how the tensions are getting higher, perhaps one will be removed from here. A retaliation for Gam. Though whether right or wrong is the other question.
