IcedOutPenguin He/Him Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I tried, I really tried. We are 2 days out from WaT and I still have, half of RoW to finish for the 2nd time, 2 days isn't enough to finish it. What should I do?

Personally, I would just take some extra time, assuming it's possible. Or, if you feel confident with your knowledge of the book, perhaps just skip to WaT.
who_slew_aicirtap she/they Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 (edited) There are also some really good in depth summary videos. Daniel Greene recently posted one that goes through each chapter. Edited December 5, 2024 by who_slew_aicirtap

I’m thinking of getting Wind and Truth for Christmas (giving me time to finish Mistborn and Elantris) and I am going to need this.

Summary of Stormlight Archive (text) Summaries Though I too have not finished the reread - and I will read SA5 when I do (even if that means not starting book 5 on release day). That's why we have the spoiler zone, so we can continue to avoid those spoilers until we do get to read the book. 3
Returned he/him Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 I'm in the same boat, and the choices are to wait on starting WaT or abandon the end portion of the the re-read of RoW. I'm going for option 2, for two reasons. One, I doubt I'll be able to restrain myself. And two, the end of RoW was mostly big reveals and fewer subtle, setup details (a common conclusion to a Sanderson book). I figure that of all the RoW details I remember the big reveals best of all and so I won't get quite as much of those out of the re-read as I will get from the rest. So it won't have too bad an effect on my WaT read through, especially because the recaps in previous SA books have been more than solid.

Do you know exactly when WaT spoilers will be allowed in the general forum? As I said earlier, it could be a while before I get around to it, and I don’t want to spoil anything to myself.

I've read whole RoW in 2 days - who needs to sleep If I were you I would just finish RoW reading it at my normal pace and then start WaT - I can't stand not finishing reading a book before peaking a new one. If I have to delay reading WaT, so it be. 59 minutes ago, Hoid_Slayer said: Do you know exactly when WaT spoilers will be allowed in the general forum? Yes, the Spoiler Policy is six months to allow people to read at their own pace, as well as those waiting on later release dates (like foreign language editions) or non-purchase options (such as arriving t oyour local library collection). But then you will need to sleep before tackling Wind and Truth. There is nothing like rushing that spoils a good book. 1
