Sart he/him Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 (edited) Welcome to Quick Fix 73. This is a game set in the distant past of the Cytoverse. You can read more about that time period in the free online story, Defending Elysium Setting: In the Outer Platforms of our solar system, the scandal of the century has occured. Alien dissidents have infiltrated humanity, in order to steal our advanced military technologies. On the quiet outpost of Europa 73, an all out brawl breaks out. Humanity has recently begun exploring the technique of Psyonics, but it is still in its infancy. In such a paranoid environment, it may be used for help or for harm. Either way, what happens here will shape the future of the galaxy going forward. Rules: For convenience sake, here's a link to the official doc. Spoiler Basics: Spoiler This is a standard Quick Fix game. There will be 24 hour Day periods, and then 24 hour Night periods. During the Day, a vote will be held. The player with the most votes dies. In the case of a tie vote, one of the tied players, randomly selected, will die. During the Night, players can use their main action, as well as guard against a player and try to PM a player (see below) Factions: Spoiler Human: You win when all Aliens have been eliminated. Alien: You win when you outnumber all Humans. Aliens have a group doc to communicate in. During each Night, one Alien may submit a kill action. This counts as their main action, and can be blocked by Cytonics. Cytonics: Spoiler Guarding: Once per Night, choose one player during the Night to guard against. If that player targets you with their main action, the action fails, and they die. If that player targets you with a PM, the PM fails. If all Phone Company Operators is dead, the player who tried to PM you also dies. Guarding is not an action, so it cannot be guarded against. PMs: Once per Night, choose one player during the Night to PM. If they are not guarding against you that Night, a 1-on-1 PM will be created between you on the following Day. If they are guarding against you that Night, and a Phone Company Operator is alive, the PM does not succeed. If they are guarding against you that Night, and all Phone Company Operators are dead, you die. This is the only way to create PMs in this game. Roles: Spoiler Medic: You’re just trying to protect people. As your main action, target a player, other than yourself. They cannot die tonight, including from Guarding. Soldier: You won’t go down without a fight. If you are killed during the Day, and, during the previous Night, you Guarded against one of the players voting on you, you kill that player as you die. Cyto Adept: You’ve learned how to get around even the trickiest defense. As your main action, target a player. You learn who they were guarding against, and who they targeted with their main action. Once per game, you can make all actions you take that Night ignore all Defenses. Instigator: You knew these people were up to no good! As your main action, you can put an anonymous vote on a target player. UIB Agent: You were here to investigate, and that job hasn’t changed. As your main action, you can target a player, and learn whether they are Human or an Alien. Phone Company Operator: You knew there was a potential for alien invasion, but you have to keep communication open. You can Guard against two separate people during the Night. If no Phone Company Operators are alive, if a PM is blocked, the person attempting to make the PM is killed. Players: Spoiler @The Unknown Order @TheRavenHasLanded @shadow1 @Aeoryi @Aeternum @Kidpen Signups will end on November 5th at 8 PM CST. Edited November 6, 2024 by Sart Add players 3

Sart he/him Posted November 6, 2024 Author Posted November 6, 2024 On the outpost of Europa 73, a shuttle was lifting off. Six complete strangers were huddled inside. The platform had quickly become a warzone, as aliens were revealed to be infiltrating the place. The six strangers glanced at each other nervously. Had they truly escaped the madness? No, of course not. The autopilot was not acting correctly. They were supposed to be fleeing to the relative safety of the Inner Ring. Instead, their course had been diverted, heading deeper into the solar system. Clearly, aliens were at fault. Ironically, it had been election day as they had departed. Apparently, they would be holding a much more deadly form of one. This Day will end in 24 hours. Get your votes in! shadow1 she/her Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Hi everyone, how fun to be playing this game again! Looking at the rules my first thought was that guarding might be a bad idea in general. Because it seems more likely than not you will kill a villager by accident. Like if you guard against a town medic who is protecting you you kill them. I guess it might be useful on the last night phase to potentially have that be a hero shot on mafia but it just strikes me as likely to backfire because it's more likely you'd kill a villager. I feel like you would have to be so confident for it to be worth it. Am I missing something? Reading the rules more thoroughly, I wanted to flag that the mafia do not win at parity: it says they need a majority. This makes it a LOT easier for us to win. Actually, when I think about it, that's probably what guarding is really meant for! We can block mafia kills that way once the numbers are low. For example if it is 2:1 and the town miskills, still at 1:1 that night the last villager can stall and force it to go to a cointoss. So that's actually extremely useful then, whereas probably not worth the risk on the first night when so many villagers will be doing abilities and we wouldn't be nearly as confident. Sorry for the rambling thoughts. I'd love to chat about this with whoever comes on and figure out the best strategy :)
Aeternum Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I forgot I signed up for this ngl. I actually read the setup for once, though. I remember thinking when I initially signed up that this game possibly ends very fast. As in within a cycle, given that there are 6 players. I wouldn't be surprised. I assume minimum number of elims should be 2 since it says they get a doc in the rules, although the last 6 player game I was in only had 1 because 4 v 2 is already mylo. Guessing it's past parity for elim wincon, then. So something like 4 v 2 -> 2 v 2. Or 6 v 1 -> 4 v 1 -> 2 v 1, for worst case scenarios.
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I don't know, I figure it's pretty simple, don't target each other with main actions and elim kill will figure itself out. If we even have a medic, it's better if they just don't use their action. It allows everyone to guard which I'm 90% sure will work out better than trying to guess the kill target.

The medic does protect a player from death by guarding though. This seems like a pretty fair trade to me. @TheRavenHasLanded TheRavenHasLanded we're halfway through the day! Get over here! Edit: But then again, I guess under this plan the medic would be the only person at risk of death. Probably better to wait until we can get some PMs going, if the humans can survive that long. Rude! but fair, I've been pretty quiet. I cant say for now, its really too early.
Sart he/him Posted November 7, 2024 Author Posted November 7, 2024 (edited) The six passengers stewed in relative silence. Then, Kidpen blurted out, "Where is the Raven?" The Raven muttered something halfheartedly, but Kidpen was unconvinced. He realized that the Raven was holding a separate conversation: a mental conversation. Clearly, this could only be the work of an Alien. He quickly took action, forcing the bird through the airlock. Given that the Raven had feathers, this was obviously the correct choice, but the spaceship was continuing it's course. There must be another Alien aboard. @TheRavenHasLanded has died! They were an Alien Phone Company Operator. This Night will end at 8 PM CST on Thursday. That's slightly less than 24 hours, so get your actions in! The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 That's, um, wow. Does that clear Kidpen? It has to right?
Aeternum Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 6p games are always cursed, I've decided. Clearly the elims were not paying attention, because in what world does a day 1 RVS vote flip a wolf. D1 should've been free for them. It's possible Kidpen voted a wolf partner for RVS, forgot about it, and then his wolf partner died. I don't think either Raven or Kidpen checked back in after their posts. Which means that the other elim likely saw the vote, knew their partner was in danger (kind of, I don't think anyone expects a RVS vote to kill), and did nothing. The thing is that Kidpen @ 'd Raven specifically, saying something about day being half over why haven't you posted, but at that point, Aeo hadn't posted yet either, so why Raven? So I'm not sure I'd completely clear Kidpen. I checked the thread about 20 times after my last post because I figured someone would either vote at some point to save Raven, or Raven was likely town for no one trying to save him (good thing I forgot about this lol). As far my opinions as everyone's post, singular, during day phase: shadow1 - Snapread town off of that first post, don't think I mentioned it yesterday. TUO - Meh. I had a thought about this being wolfy because it's easy for wolves to hide behind mech. Shadow1's post was also mostly mech-based, I just townread that post more for the tone. Kidpen - gets credit for voting Raven, but again, why not mention Aeo? Why Raven specifically? Aeo - hi. Would be funny if I had a perfect GtH solve in Raven/TUO yesterday, since Raven's singular post was pretty RME and I was considering voting there.

Kidpen he/him Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 (edited) My genius analysis skills strike again. I definitely didn't just forget to take off that vote. Edit: What do we think about PMing? Theres a decent chance raven was the only phone operator. Not sure it's worth the risk at this point. Edited November 7, 2024 by Kidpen

I have two Guard actions anyways. We're safe atm.
Aeternum Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Could be a good fakeclaim for an elim. I don't usually make PMs anyway.
