+Oltux72 he/him Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Is that the tower and the crown on the back of his jacket? Is his hair white or blonde? The book might be Oathbringer. Any alternatives? Is he standing on one of Urithiru's oathgates? It may be tempting to associate this with the top of Urithiru and the duell of champions, but I think the gems on poles don't fit that and the platform is way too small.

According to Brandon’s website, it’s actually the Way of Kings. It’s supposed to look like the real-world WoK leatherbound as a sort of easter egg. 3

Yes, that's Dalinar's crest, Coppermind: Quote Dalinar Kholin's crest takes the form of the words khokh and linil formed into the shape of a tower and a crown, respectively Spoiler 16 hours ago, Oltux72 said: Is his hair white or blonde? Gray I would say. 16 hours ago, Oltux72 said: Is he standing on one of Urithiru's oathgates? Way too small. It looks like the top of Urithiru itself. 16 hours ago, Oltux72 said: It may be tempting to associate this with the top of Urithiru and the duell of champions, but I think the gems on poles don't fit that and the platform is way too small. The Oathgate platform is even bigger, capable of fitting an entire army on it, monastery or gardens. This is tiny. It's just artistic liberty. In the article linked above, there is this cover description: Quote “The overall tone we wanted was this: Something that makes the viewer feel small in the face of the storm. With that in mind, this is the cover description we prepared for Michael and Tor: “Dalinar stands on the top of the tower of Urithiru looking west toward the oncoming Everstorm. In his hand is a copy of The Way of Kings. Below, in the distance, and around him are snowcapped mountains. The sweeping view of these mountains and the oncoming Everstorm takes up most of the sky. “We were aiming for a tone that echoed how Dalinar might be feeling in that moment, like he’s the only one standing between the storm and the rest of Roshar.” Yes, it is Dalinar, it is the top of Urithiru, it is the Way of Kings, it is the Everstorm. Grailmoth Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Theory time - we know the whole tower is a fabrial, and those gems on the top of the tower are part of that. Navani discovers some way to use the tower as a Choeden Kal-like power amplification fabrial for the showdown, perhaps a reversal of the towers existing suppression capabilities.
