He pulled out a tranquilizer dart and pricked Eddie on the arm.

Suddenly, a squad of armed troops, dressed in black and wearing gas masks, burst into the courtroom. One of them picked up Eddie and threw her over his shoulder. 

"I promise I won't hurt her," Bookwyrm called to the courtroom. "I'm going to get to the bottom of this."

He left the open door of the room, and the trooper carrying Eddie followed him. A few others went with them for protection, while the rest guarded the exit.
