"We even have alternative payment methods."

*hesistant* "What kind of payment?"

"It´s easy, instead of paying money you rent out some of your own property, while using the estate. Naturally we give you an insurance on your property."

"I´m afraid I don´t have any significant property."

"Don´t worry ma´am, I have seen a picture of your daughter, she´ll do quite nicely."

Little did Funtimes know that her cotage was owned by Nighthound´s company.

One of the perks of being a teleporting matter transformer: she can just turn the cottage into a pile of jellybeans, take it somewhere else, and turn it back into a cottage.

She´s stealing from Epic Inc@ now? How the mighty have fallen? She certainly won´t get to have any of the member benefits.

If the "member benefits" were set by Nighthound, I think she's happier without them. ;)

Don´t worry they were set by Corporate (the Epic that always wins) and include such things like "do not get harrased by Nighthound." Only a very small number of people can afford membership.

Sorry, but she knows better than to get involved with any company that puts Nighthound in their employment contract--the obvious exception being a league of professional assassins utterly devoted to killing Nighthound.

As long as Intervention isn't one of the assassins. I am blissfully unaware of what Nighthound might do while drunk.

Well, the ending of Tokyo Ghoul already gave me enough nightmares for the night so I´m not goint to think about that right now.

There are some things that man is not meant to know.

Mankind, womankind, childkind... there's really nothing in the observable universe that should know about this.

Oh I´m pretty sure Cuthulu would like to know.

No, Cthulhu filed an eldritch restraining order against Nighthound ages ago.

Maybe that's why Cthulhu should know about it. Nighthound's drunkenness was his reason for filing the eldritch restraining order in the first place.

Who's up next in Portland/The Dalles?

I think I need to do a Lightwards/Sam reaction in Portland, and I need to introduce Glamour/make Backtrack cry in The Dalles.

And then Autumn can unwittingly cause him to continue his inner weeping. :D:P

Also, I think I have another crack ship to rival Aldo/Wes.

Lightwards tipped the bottle of wine back, but only a few stray drops landed on his tongue. He righted the bottle and held it at arm's length for a long moment.

Lucentia had left him for a hamster.

Voidgaze was too busy stuffing her face with greasy sandwiches to care.

Ray hadn't left that unicycling abomination's arms since morning.

Even Funtimes—Funtimes!—had a boyfriend, never mind he seemed too terrified not to kiss her.

And now the bottle was empty.

Lightwards tossed the bottle aside in disgust, but it didn't give him the satisfying crash he wanted, landing instead on a patch of prehistoric fern with a hollow thunk. Not even the bottle could make him happy.

Fighting tears, he lifted his precious bowler hat from his head and held it in his hands. "Well, hat," he slurred, "looks like it's just you and me."

The rational side of his brain told him that the hat was inanimate; barring Funtimes' intervention, it could neither move nor speak. But the side of his brain too distraught or too drunk to bother with rationality thought that, for just a second, the hat smiled at him.

Lightwards laughed, crying a bit, and crushed the hat to his chest. "Oh, hat! I've been so lonely…"

Eh. That ship was kind of... old hat. B)

(That was actually one of the most hilariously crack-filled ships yet devised--though I still think Aldo/Wes outcracks it. :P)

I have failed the Evil Overlord List. I gave CorpseMaker's Plan to my Kid brother, (Who's 10 and has read Steelheart.) And he found a Simple flaw in it. . .

He also reccomened that Lightward get pieces of Whale bone, and then reanimate them off the edge of the MONA on to people.

I don't think you failed the Evil Overlord test so much as got out-tested by your brother.

He's going to make one fine super villain one day, is what I'm saying. :P

This needs to happen at some point, CM may think his flying robots can unseat the MONA, but he's not ready for our WHALE BARRAGE!

Mwahaha! I also have a ten year-old brother, and once CorpseMaker's plan is set into action, I will use his infantile intellect to find its weak point!  3353_3821_face-devil-grin_32x32.png

Your brother's Lightwards suggestion may also warrant further looking into...

I have a thirteen year-old brother whom I've explained the RP to. He's obsessed with the idea that Altermind's weakness is being confronted with people dumber than he is, which is why he established Thoughttown. I've tried arguing against the hypothesis, but his logic is quite unassailable. :P

Now I'm curious: What does he think Funtimes' weakness is?

He's asleep right now, but I'll be sure to pose the question to him. I'm totally going to throw dumb people at Altermind next time Lightwards comes across him...

I hope you mean "throw" in the figurative sense….though knowing Lightwards, I wouldn't put it past him to aim a giant catapult at Altermind and fling idiots his way…..:P

Now that you have your laboratory I have devised the first grand use of my new elite science team, I want you to design and manufacture a device by which I might hurl people of lower intellect towards our former allies.

... you want a catapult? We offer you fireballs, super strength and healing and you want a catapult?

Verily!
