If you've ever been confused by a math problem, you belong here! Ask for help, or just discuss your confusion! Starting this thread because I stared at a problem for around ten minutes before I remembered that the Pythagorean Theorem existed. I felt very silly.

Ill do what I can to help. Im an engineer who is 20 years past my college courses so I might have literally forgotten more math than most people ever get exposed to. We'll have to see how much is left...

I'm so storming bad at math. The other day I thought -2 + 1 was 3.

That's rough.

Oh, also I use calculators for very basic math. And forget how to add fractions and whole numbers. I really need a refresher on fractions...

(yes, that was really long ago. I still know... sort of...)

I’m about to be a nerd who can’t take a joke

But y’all are kidding about that being hard right?

mostly. but some fractions get really scary.

(-b+- sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a

things are scary.

It's called the quadratic formula. It is used for finding the X values of a second degree polynomial when said polynomial cannot be factored.

In my state, Math II. It might be different where you live, but somewhere between Math I and Math II.

End of Algebra when you first hear of it, it enters frequent use in some units near the end of Geometry, but disappears around the end of Precal
