“…Did you exterminate any kleevers?”

Obsidian frowned, thinking. "I didn't exterminate any, but I consumed... about twenty."

Klave approached the group, a relaxed smile on his scarred face. “Hello there. I got here a bit late, and you were all busy, so I figured I’d just start exterminating those things. Are we finished for now?”

“We have killed very many of them!” Rayvyn announced. “And the person who did not kill very many must do laundry. And that is you!”

"I have however many this is," said Len, opening the bags and revealing them to be bags of holding. She's probably too young to be messing around with those, but whatever.

Klave glanced inside Len’s bag, nodding approvingly. “That is pretty good. I wasn’t keeping strict track of the kleevers I killed, but I believe the number is about two, maybe three thousand.”

He’s really good at killing creatures like kleevers. He’s basically a professional monster exterminator.

Man I wanted to win! Fine, whatever, she likes killing humans better anyway.

“That is a lot,” Rayvyn says. “I did not kill so many.” She looks disappointed in herself, but shrugs out of it. “You did well.”

"Ah," replied Obsidian, sudden realization crossing his face. "That means... I have to do laundry?" He pondered this for a moment, then his face suddenly brightened. "Socks! Laundry is socks!"

"I think I will do my own laundry," Rayvyn said decidedly. "Have we killed all the little monsters now?"

Posted

"Enough probably." Dave turned to Fadran. "Actually, what is the reproductive speed of the Kleavers? Shouldn't they have died out with such concentrated hunting?"

Posted

Klave snorted. "I doubt it. They don't appear to have any predators here, and unless I'm very wrong about their natural place in the food chain they'll reproduce like rabbits. Maybe faster, since there's magic involved. Unless we kill all of them, their population will regrow faster than you'd think possible. I've seen it before."
